Yay my sprites. Yipee...

Spoiler: :Gary Elmwood:
Image

My first ever sprite. Gary Elmwood is meant to be an very confident and cocky defense attorney. He started his carear at age 21 after the events of PW3.
Spoiler: Luke Ryder (incomplete)
Image

My second 'proper' sprite. As you can tell from the name it was an attempt to make myself. Those who know who I look like will know that I failed. He's the 'passionate' prosecutor and he starts his carear at 19 at around the same time as Edgeworth (hence their freinds :edgy: ).

Spoiler: Jack Hallows
Image
Jack is an ex-attorney who now is the editor for his weekly magazine 'Turnabout' which covers trials and rates defence attorneys and prosecutors. He keeps a camera with him always so he can take pictures of any crime scene he may find himself in. He is also a fan of the stranglers! (Apologies if he is similar to any of your characters. I was trying to be original. Honest!)

Please critisise away! I always strive to get better and constructive critisim is the best way to do it!

There's a lot of shading errors here and there...Sometimes,it's just missing, others,it's not blending very well.

...Gary looks surprisingly like my defense OC,Irya o_o;

xD thats what I thought also...that aside...its time for another addition of...

Cold52_Sprite_Tips

lets talk about Gary...for starters an important tip many begginers seem not to knowtice...
PW and AJ sprites domt mix well unless well edited...this is due to AJ sprites being made bigger with more detail than PW sprites...

Next look at garys eyes...they seem unusually bright...you might want to make it a bit of a darker shade, also add a dark green border around it since its a bright color like green.

Next id like to talk about the hair...theres a lack of a darkned border of the seperated point of hair and forhead plus the ear is cut off...id suggest rounding the ear first of all...next go back and look at apollos sprite...youll see what i ment about a border between hair and skin...plus remember this tip well...brighter colors often demand more detail than dark colors

And to wrap thing up...the body...ill start with the sleeve...I knowtice the straight line...most of the time thats a bad idea in spriting...the body being organic isnt perfectly flat so try to make it curve instead. secondly is shading...certain portions lack shading where they should...concider the perspective of the object and where the light is fixed on the object while also concidering things in front of another like your hands for exampleyou did the bottem but what about the small portion in the top...or between the fingers...study up on the sprites abit for this one...

and also Your free to do what you want but i recommend begginers start only with PW sprites since its simple and alot less detail is needed to make them look good.
hope this helps you and good luck on future sprites :godot:

Yeah, I am still pretty new at this so there's bound to be some errors here and there (Don't know what happened with Luke's collar!) but I will go back and work on the shading. Can I just say the quality of Luke isn't brilliant. Don't know why... Is there a better hosting sight then photobucket?

Yeah. Gary's long lost sibling perhaps? Look's pretty good. I'll have to check your sprites out...

The eyebrows are there, just not very clear so I'll edit them and the chin. Well... it's supposed to be like that it was a bit of a disaster. I'll work on both of these flaws.

Oh dear. Sorry Ryder. I'll change Luke's surname if you want. Thanks very much Cold 52. Your guide was what I needed to improve Gary. I said I might well start him again, and I think after hearing what you had to say I think I'll start him again with a pw character. Thanks to all of you for your comments. It's always nice to know how to improve your work. Keep coming back here to see updates on my sprites.

Next bit of work: Improving Gary. Using pw sprites I'm going to start him again.

Oh right! *looks at gary's sheet* Oh yeah he doesn't does he? Well there's a reason for that. It's because the big day before his big opening trial, Gary's brother Eddy shaved them off. Oh ho ho... How Gary screamed and bellowed at his brother.
...
C'mon! It's a better the saying "I forgot them" Well anyway when I remake him I promise that he will have eyebrows.

Wow it's been a while! Hoping to get back into spriting so I've dug up this old topic. Anyway I have a new character to show off. Ladies and gentlemen. Jack Hallows!
Spoiler: Jack Hallows

I'm rather pleased with this one. It's not perfect I know and any advice and help anyone could give would be appreciated.
P.S: If you guess who's recoloured eyes those are I'll give you a thumbs up.
