So yeah, I made a sprite and it's meant to be me, but we'll ignore the distinct lack of likeness, shall we (not as though you know what I look like, nullifying this point)? :3

So, erm... I made it using Gimp and my laptop trackpad (I hope to get a tablet soon, which should help). It was a combination of splicing and my own drawing.

And I was wondering, would anyone be willing to offer me criticism on it? I'd like to know how to improve etc. ^.^;;

Also I'm really sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section... I tried my best to get it right. xD

Yeah and it's the first sprite I've ever made, hence the badness.

It looks so good! Really!
Shading the clothes would make it look even better, as Dypo typed. The hair also looks a little too smooth, but that's probably just me :godot:

In GIMP and with the laptop trackpad. It says so in the first post. :)

Hey there! Don't worry, it's in the right section :P. Sssooooo, you want crit? Sure thing. Sorry if I come across as rude.

1. Try to splice together a few more parts. It only takes a second to see that that is Mia with Ema's head. (Quoting Looby Here xD) Try frankensteining arms, mouth, and, a really important one is eyes. I know you tried with the eyes, but they look really weird.

2. Remember to shade every-part. Remember, AA sprites are cell shaded and have light coming from a certain direction. For example, if light is on the left side, the left side will be brighter, and the left. Don't forget that wrinkles in clothes play a part too.

3. The hair looks a little weird on the left side of her face. Where the brown lines are, I mean.


So overall, it's no the greatest sprite in the world, but it doesn't suck, either. Hopefully you can take my crit and use it to create a master-piece :)

Thank you, I'll make sure to work on the shading! ^.^ Might edit this sprite a little.

You don't come across as rude at all. :) That was really helpful; I'll take it into consideration.

I might post an update whenever I get new stuff done with it! :D
