Greetings. I'm new to this forum, but not new to Phoenix Wright.
Anyway, I wanted to try this sprite thing, so I'm going to post some sprites I made.

Spoiler: Feenie not ill (he still sneezes)

That's about it. I made it in an hour and I'm new to this so I would like for you people to suggest me things I should try to do.

Next up: Cut off the white backround. That'd be easy with Gimp (Free, downloadable program).

Wow! For someone new, that's a good first start! The mouth fits in nicely!
What program did you use to animate these sprites?

Oh, the white background. I can only blame my gif making program for making that. :grey: It was originally transparent. I'm gonna fix it with Gimp, cause paint.net doesn't work with animated gifs.

Thanks! :phoenix: I used PhotoScape for putting them all together.

EDIT: Turns out I don't know anything how to do anything with gimp. :wellington-crazy: So I would very appreciate if someone could do it for me...

I don't have experience with GIMP but hopefully someone can inform you of how to turn the white background transparents. I, myself, have always used paint.NET and Ulead Gif Animator but it's a fairly impractical round-a-bout way to go about it so hopefully some gimps who use GIMP can help you out there. (ily GIMP gimps <3).

As for the sprites, good job! Whenever I examine the Young Phoenix sprites, I always think of that idea where you remove the mask but I've never entertained it. You've done a decent job but I will make some criticisms because that's how creativity works.

Firstly, as I'm sure you've notice, Phoenix's right half jolts a little. This is an easy fix that you can take care of in less than a minute. The other problem, on the other hand...

The second problem is that in your third sprite, Phoenix's mouth opens but his face doesn't react. What I mean is that, if you look at other sprites, you'll see that the chins move. It's a little difficult to pull of naturally but it really is worth it.

Lastly, and this is...difficult depending on your program. You use GIMP which I'm not familiar with. Anyhow, the timing needs to be fixed. This is minor detail that doesn't matter too much but it's just a nice...formality of welcoming to the people browsing your forum, if that makes sense. Like, it's easy and accessible.

I'm sorry if I'm sounding harsh or overly analytical. Your work is great for a beginner but even experts can improve their work. Good job!
I'm So Meta, Even This Acronym

But in all honesty, META humour sucks.

I've never used GIMP either, I used to use a freeware called 'Beneton' and that has a ' transparent' tickbox option, which makes the colour in the bottom left corner of the sprites transparent (So If it's white, all of the white would disappear, so make your backgrounds a different colour to your sprite.

Oh, you got me wrong, I use paint.net all the time, but I couldn't use it for animated gifs.
About the other problems, I'm gonna do them later, but now I'm gonna fix the transparent problem.

EDIT: The transparent problem is fixed.
