Hello folks!
Just thought I should make this topic to serve as a showcase (but more importantly a way for me to receive criticism) for sprites to be featured in the fan-game, "Turnabout AWESOME!". Info for said project can be found here.

In short, the style of the game will be following the AA trilogy, not the AJ or DD sprite styles so keep that in consideration when critiquing. Future sprites posted here may contain spoilers for the fan-game so for the sake of those who would like to play this, be wary.
NOTE: Any and all sprites posted here are NOT for public use. I only post these assets (being sprites, frames, and art) here for the purpose of critique.

"EnterMEUN": The Cosplayed Defendant

An odd fellow who prefers to stay in costume even in the midst of his own trial. With a face like that I can't help but wonder why I even agreed to defend him.

I fixed it. Was oblivious about it until now which is pretty sad.

Anyways, I made some changes to the head and just about finished the objection animation. Only issue I'm having is how to shade the suit. I've been throwing some ideas around but none look "great".

I liked the badge on the right. Made him different.

In regards to shading, consider where you want your light source. Phoenix's objection sprite has the light source behind his arm (since he can block it), whilst Mia has at least two (one in the bottom-right, another to cast the light on the top of her arm). You mentioned your style is in the PW style, but you still might be able to consider having the light source from directly above like in AJ and DD, because that's how prosecutors are lit in PW.

Also, thin out the midtone level of shading (should be for anti-aliasing/blending only) and use the shading to define the shape, rather than just following the line of the outline since that's how shadows are formed. The first row does this more than the second. Finish shading the arm and it should look better.

Well, the badge on the right wasn't a flaw and that comment of mine was merely a joke... ^^;

Even though there are a few small mistakes, that's completely normal. I like your sprites so don't worry about that :godot:

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I honestly hope I ironed out the majority of the problems. Even though they are small mistakes I'm just the type of person who tries to aim for the best quality I can produce.
