Go fop, go! XD Diego is another character I like, so we have some common ground. I just wish he got a little more face time... I prefer him to Godot, truthfully. :javado:

Thanks! The font I used for that part of the meme is actually what inspired me to dress him like that. XD It just... fit! XD

Oh no! Sorry about the cross-posting, guys! XD The AA fandom hasn't been particularly active as of late on dA, so I try to spread my art around by posting it on places like the LJ community and of course, Court Records. I'm glad you like the picture though. It was either that, or Klavier dressed up like some sort of Playboy bunny. XD

Oh my gosh don't apologize! <3 I love seeing Ace Attorney related things which is why I follow along on here and at LJ. There's no problem with posting things in both places, especially when the fandom has been a bit slow recently like you said. :)

AND YES. I think Klavier as a playboy bunny should happen anyway, because it sounds like a fabulous idea to me XD

Wooo! That's awesome! I'm so happy that you enjoyed it and that at least a few western fans were able to purchase copies. >w< I think I'll post my contribution to the project online at some point, but there are two or three panels that I need to make changes to before I do that. (Because they're terrible an they make me want to cry.) XD

The lipstick color is a nice and relevant touch. I like that detail.

But, um, do you want actual critical critique? Because I have a couple of comments, but given that you made this for someone else and it's clearly very finished, I can understand if you'd rather not.

That sounded awfully snide. ^^; To answer your question though, no thanks. Critique is only helpful to me when the image in question is a sketch. I have no way of making major adjustments to finished work, so I would prefer not to know about any glaring errors, as I can't do a thing about them. :3

Critique isn't necessarily specific for the current image that you're on. The critique can be made use of on future art depending on what it is. I can understand if you don't want it though. The delivery of the critique can make a big difference too T.T

I'm sorry it sounded snide; that was not my intention. The thing is, I've gotten caught by this before (albeit on less art-intensive forums), where someone will post a picture saying they want critique, really and truly, and then have a temper tantrum when they actually get critique rather than head-pats. Of course, it's also gone the other way, where people have truly wanted that constructive criticism and are absolutely delighted to get it rather than generic praise. And there's a middle ground, etc.

So I've learned to inquire what the preference of the artist is before saying anything about the execution. It's certainly legitimate to post one's work just to say hey, look what I did, and keep it out of the arena of blunt analysis, perhaps on a case-by-case basis. I'm quite new here, and don't know anyone's preferences. And as you point out, at this stage, you've put a lot of work into the final product, so critique isn't helpful to the specific piece. Which is another reason I asked, because it is a cruddy feeling to suddenly see all the flaws in something you're finished and proud of.

By the way, I really did mean it about the lipstick -- it wasn't a damning with faint praise thing. Since Shih-Na's face generally looked pretty non-made-up to me, I figured it was an allusion to her past incarnation's nervous habit.

I know what you mean. I generally ask before giving critiques unless it's in a critique thread (critique is a given there, right?) but as I said, it's the delivery that counts. Alot of those people were previously burned by someone that pointed out only flaws and made them feel bad as an artist. Artists tend to have low egos- you tend to do other things if you're confident in yourself, so if we're not selling our art for $$$ regularly, being essentially told that our art is crap is really a put down cause it's so personal to us :( I assume that you're not like those critiquers though and would give both positive feedback as well as negative :) I find offering methods to fix the issue also help. Beginners in art specially have little direction of what to do with art. Most walk in with the assumption that you've got it or you don't, and that if you use a reference, its cheating- that's totally wrong. Professionals reference all the time. It's HOW you reference that's important.

In any case, I wont get too deep into art discussion here or I'll go on for hours. If you want to give critique, hon, I have a crit thread set up in this art section specifically for it :) (although it along with the art threads in general seem to be dead right now :/ )
