Hah. Awesome :D

EDIT: Be more specific, please. Okay. Ah-em. I really like the drawing, it's cute and all (:
And.. 5th page !!! Congratulations! :D

The beginning was quite fun, just with all the ups and downs

Be more specific? What do you mean? About the artist's notes? Well, I usually write pretty short ones, and sometimes I can't think of anything good to say.

Thanks for the comment!

Spoiler: Older Wocky With Bakery Uniform
Image

Decided to draw Older!Wocky again after not doing so for a while. I figured at this point his orange pompadour and ears would be gone, and he'd have a little goatee as well XD

As for his attitude, his is MUCH different when he's older. No more 'gangsta' slang or acting immature. He's much more like his dad Big Wins, but he's not as big as him, though.

The picture looks pretty good, but the face just looks... Odd. I don't know, I guess male faces are harder for me to draw than female faces.

Spoiler: Adela's/Alita's Psychotic Laugh
Image

I think this is gonna make me have nightmares.

I got inspired to make this after I saw the psychotic laughs of Light/Kira on Death Note and those crazy girls from Higurashi.

I guess this could be another breakdown Alita could have...

I also added a spotlight affect to the picture to make it look more creepy.

Wow, I like the new pictures Neko, your art style is so cool! I love the expression you manage to convey through your pictures. Its immediete when I see it.
I think you should try to draw in a different style to your usual one, maybe it will help you a bit.

Good job with the Alita, awesome as always :butzthumbs:

By new art style, I mean like, maybe try a more realistic style...? Even if the picture turns out really bad, its still good practice to do so, in my eyes anyway. But if you dont feel comfortable doing it, then its fine as well. I just thought it might help a little with your drawings, it helped me a bit to experiment :)

I've actually done realistic type drawings for my art class back in high school and some of them turned out pretty good. I ought to try doing that again sometime.

Aaaaah, I like those realistic-type of drawing, the cartoonish touch you gave them really worked! Some of the things may be a little off but thats no big deal, especially when they are cartoony.

Thanks! To me, the way I draw in 'realistic' style looks like modern art (Like Picasso for example). Almost NONE of the humans are drawn realistically in that style.

yeah i'd have to agree with that right there. Barely anyone these days makes realistic drawings, mainly because they are sooo complex to draw!

You're obviously not looking in the right places then. Anime is popular, sure, but it's not the dominant art style on the net. Just on the areas of the net you're looking at. The pencil club is a club I'm on on DA that's dedicated to realistic pencil drawings. That club is SWARMED by entries and they're all high standard.

To be good at anime or realism takes the same amount of effort. There is however a HUGE misconception that just cause you're drawing anime, that you don't have to learn proportion, but you do.

Please- don't get me on the traditional versus digital / eastern versus western argument. The argument is TOTALLY invalid, because both have their bonuses and negatives, and it's naive to think that the other doesn't rate just cause you don't see how it does. They all rate, they're all tough, and they're all art. Further more, with given effort, they're all beautiful. Control Z is not an excuse to ignore all traditional media, not is cost. Difficulty level is no reason to ignore more realistic styles, nor is it being to childish looking an excuse for writing off Eastern styled art. IT's all to do with what you enjoy drawing. Not with what is the easiest.

Sorry if I come across as grouchy, but this is a pet peeve :/

It is VERY true that you have to learn proportions in ANY form of art, Anime, Western Cartoon, realism or otherwise.

One thing that pissed me off about my high school art classes is that the teachers would always look down upon how I drew. They HATED my art. I would always get complaints about how I need to "Get out of drawing cartoons". And whenever I TRIED to draw realistic stuff like they wanted they still bitched and moaned about it looking like a cartoon.

So after high school I decided to quit taking art classes and almost stopped drawing all together, because of how much hate my art got in school. I got tired of people saying how I drew like I was a five year old and how my art wasn't realistic enough. DeviantArt had done this to me as well, but since I've returned there I've gotten much more positive feedback.

In my opinion, any form of art is wonderful and each one is just as challenging as the other.

I never said I didnt appreciate realism, I simply said I found it difficult to draw. There was also a hint of sarcasm in there saying that people dont try because they think its difficult, although i guess sarcasm is hard to tell on forums. (And dont get me started on the sarcasm box. ugh.)

Actually, I don't even go on DeviantArt, and I'm not even that interested in art online, this is the only place I bother looking at, (Laziness) so I suppose it is kinda true i'm not looking in the right places.

I totally agree that you must first have a grip on proportion, form and realism to start stylisng it and calling it another form of art. And I also agree that all art is good. I just find realism difficult...I still appreciate people who paint like it, its not like I completley ignore it. Maybe I should give it a go...i'm not sure how THAT would turn out. eeep.

On a lighter note, nice drawing Neko! Loved your art and always will do.
