I can say no to requests and that's like... one of the FEW I would say no to >.< My paper would melt from the anger in my brain if I drew it.

My problem is that as soon as I work in traditional media, the owner gets the original, which increases it's worth alot, so I don't like doing it unless I'm close IRL to them. I've considered doing linearts, but I'm not confident with colour, and untill I am, I'm not drawing in it. To be frank, my thing at the moment is request it, if you get it, more power to you, but commissions aren't open. i don't like to charge for my art. I'll give as much effort as a picture requires, or as far as my steam pushes me. I've had bad experiances with commisioners forcing me to work fast. I don't work fast as you can probably tell. I'm pretty laid back. Cause of that, I find it hard to price myself. That above commission I'll likely ask her to make an offer. She knows what art is worth. i'm only charging her though cause she'll yell at me if I didn't XD She wants me to feel my art is worth something. To be honest, I don't feel like my art is worth much at all >.> I have a pretty crap ego T.T Specially at the moment :(
If it inspires me though, I'll put effort in :) Even if it's for free. See, I draw for love. I'm not gonna skimp on quality just cause it's free- these following images btw, the people have the originals. I don't own any more than a high res scan.

Really? I thought it was a final until you keep making subtle points about doing a better version. I really liked that one- it was great as I've had some good sprites produced so far. Plus, it helps motivate my game by seeing awesome art.
Oh and lovely art. Is that Sean and Zeth in one of those? And those two commissions (mermaid girl and the black and white angel are awesome :D)

I've been plotting down some designs, but most of them are coming out rubbish >.> I'm still working on it though. Just had a whole week of doing 2 people's jobs so I've been a bit crazy. If I had a better idea what he does, it'd make it easier to get icons into it? And please tell me the protagonists. I might add them in too :)

Hmmm... It's hard to put it in words. Godot has just woken up and he's pretty upset about Mia and mad at Wright. I was thinking that he could be resting both hands on a dresser with his mask beside him and a picture of Mia in a little frame. Mabye do a view from the back?
Anyway that's what I had in mind. I think it would look awesome.

Oh, how I dislike his english name T.T They could've done SO much better... Anyways- copy paste description from DA
Shi-long Lang, or Shiryuu Rou in Japanese, the Interpol agent in Ace Investigations who yes- I've fallen for him XD He even BETTER than I expected too ^^ Anyways, the game is still new so I wont bask in his glory too much ( *u* ) but I decided to draw a pencil pic of him.
Still WIP. He's holding a scroll. I'm about to fall asleep though so I had to stop here >.< May add some coloured pencil too it too... Hrmmm... We'll see.
No critique please. I'm just having fun here. Feel free to comment. Try not to spoil though. I'm not quite finished the game yet and others may not be either.

Yeah-that picture was a markers practise one ^^; I don't normally draw from other people's linearts, but I was feelings a little bitter about myself that day and decided to colour someone else's XD (I'm so hard on myself with art >.> ) Markers are... interesting to use. I'm no where near as well versed in them as I should, but every time I meet someone that uses them alot, I learn something new from them. There's only a certain amount you can be told about markers before you just need to give them a go, and that's not alot of info ^^; Paper matters ALOT to markers too. Normal printer paper bleeds to HECK, art paper sucks your pen dry, and waxy paper doesn't bleed much, but is thin >.> They recommend Zeta paper for it. I got a pad, but I don't like drawing on it. It's a hot press, so there's not texture to it. I'm a little weird like that I guess. I have a pit of a relationship with my paper. I'm such a paperphile XD
Thanks for the compliment on the Lang art :) I'm... not that happy with it... the head shape is a little weird to me... I've not been in great condition the last few weeks though (Pillow problems- good news is I think I've fixed it!!
), so I'm going to not worry too much about it cause it brought the message across which was the important thing :) I'm starting to colour it though- it looks a little dark cause I had a pencil base in behind it, but I think it adds a nice character to the picture :) Heh- the casino pic was done in tria markers (copics, but a different brand) too :) I guess that was obvious by the thin bits, but it steemed from another casino pic I did
I stopped working on the picture, cause I didn't like the composition of it, and I wanted to work out their outfits first. I liked Miles in a bow tie, but I wasn't convinced on Godot's outfit. I'm ALOT happier with this outfit design. It's alot more slick, and incognito looking XD Zeth was added in there cause I hadn't actually designed a dealer outfit for him even though he'd totally suit it XD I decided to swap his tie for a bow tie also to add class (And not get in the way), and give him a dorky vest XD The rest is his usual lawyer outfit, cause his lawyer outfit was based off a dealer on anyways :)

And hot press paper is really odd to work on; I can totally agree with you there. :| It took me a long time to get used to it. Since I work with watercolors and gouache a lot I love the feel of cold press, but sometimes when I want a nice crisp inking line I'll work on bristol or hot press instead.
And whoooooooo that new picture is ~hot~. Shih-na look wicked awesome there, and you drew Miles and Lang fabulous as always. And hey, maybe it's just me but I'm totally digging the flat colors. :) I mean I'd love to see it worked up more, but I honestly think it looks really neat this way too. <3

Yeah- I've just in the last few months started trying out speciality papers and I'm seeing the hype. Bristol is nice to ink on. I can get alot nicer of a line :) I still firmly stand by generic paper though- you can't practise on Bristol. It's REALLY expensive :(
Thank you ^^ You're the first person to comment on it! It's been having tumble weed scatter around it which made me think it was too mature and had bad taste :/ I don't need a million comments but one or two is nice to know it's appreciated ^^ I'm glad you liked it :) I wanted it to be sensual, and although it is smutty, I didn't want it to be too bad in taste. I'm REALLY surprised how well Sheena turned out though. For me, he picture is all about her ^^ she's such a stunning character. I'd really love to forget the spoilers on her an see more with her and Lang looking excellent together ^^ Not sure how much more I'll do with it- the colour choice turned out alright in this, so maybe I'll just give it some subtle shadows to give some definition.

Yeah- It's what I've gotten use to. I'd rather call Lang, Rou too, but I've decided to call him Lang so I don't confuse everyone in Spin the bottle by calling him by his Japanese name too :( With Sheena- I spell it correctly too XD Call me crazy, but that h is a pain in the ass XD To be honest, they could've done a better job with both of their translations :/ Specially Lang. I see their reasons, but Shi-long Lang for a name? His first name is Shi-long?!? Urggh... no, there are tones of names they could go for. Lupin would've gone down well. There's a few others that would've too if they HAD to have wolf in there (Where does his dragon aspect come into it?! O.o )

This picture was meant to be a tribute to Sheena, and how she's compared to Lady Gaga, but none of Lady Gaga's outfits seemed to spark me with that pose, but I REALLY wanted a pic of her cuddling up to Rou's boa all sweet like cause I thought it'd be both sweet and sexy for her to do ^^
Damn... Sheena is hot. Sorry guys- I don't care much for if you think she should or shouldn't OTP with Rou, but they just look SO good together ^^
Anyways- I'd like comments on how to colour this, or finish colouring it. I'm a little... Stumped >.> I'm using this pallet for the colours if it helps.

Well, alot of it is knowing their personality. I've drawn alot of on the spot commissions at cons, and the ones that REALLY surprise me are the fandoms I get into AFTER drawing the picture. Like, I drew a phoenix Wright picture before I got into the fandom for a girl, and like... I TOTALLY wouldn't draw him like that know knowing what Phoenix is like. Subtle facial expressions REALLY make the difference, and mannerism. IT's hard to explain. I guess it's practice, and knowing the way a face works helps alot. I wasn't that great at facial expression till I got this book. Before that, my smiles looked fake, and my angry faces looked like sulking. Now I can get subtle expressions like a slight sly look. It's applicable to all art styles too- even manga, cause the shape of the eye etc... is what's important. Not how realistic it is (Try telling a manga artist that though T.T They refuse to take tips from realism books T.T It's kinda frustrating)
Clothes... I've not done any studies on clothing yet so I couldn't tell you :( Most of it is guess work and body structure. If you map out the naked body roughly and draw the clothes hanging off it, then the creases will come where ever the fabric bends. The more technical side after that? I'd have to guess, and do it on a case by case, sorry :(

That's ok. As I've said before- Colour is ALOT more difficult than people realize. Most people stumble upon good colour choice, or let the lineart do the work, or over do it making the picture not so easy to look at.
The big thing with why the pose works is cause of the kink and twist in her body. MEn suit rigid lines, while female suit curves. If you fink the body around a little and twist the hip slightly, you get an S shape in the body which is aesthetic to look at :) The rest is playing around with the layout of the picture. I was going to have her with her hands in the air and fluffy hand cuffs, but then I wanted to put Rou in. He didn't work anywhere except behind Sheena. Then I thought 'She's the perfect height to put her arms over him. Then I thought it'd be sweet if he had his jacket on and she was draped over it ^^ This opened up alot of nice options for poses, and I decided on Rou putting his hands on her hips as if they were his own. It was a long process, but worth it :)

I admire your skill with coloring; I can attest to the fact that coloring can be pretty tricky at times. What I love about your art is how you use strokes of different colors in your highlighting and shading, especially in the portrait of Lang. For a long time I would just use darker and lighter shades of the "base" color to add shading, but after a while it begins to look... I don't know, boring and almost dead. When I started to experiment more with shading/highlighting with different colors, I was amazed at the results! It can really add a lot of depth and life to any artwork.
That picture of Lang and Shih-na is beautiful, by the way. ^^ Excellent color choice, and the anatomy is great! I imagine that working the poses out was tricky, but it definitely paid off.
