Yep, I'm doing it again, folks, attempting to put together a cosplay in a matter of days and on limited funding. Only this time it's Trucy.

The most pressing thing at the moment is the cape... so-- to all you Trucy!cosplayers... how'd you whip that up? What shape did you make it? Give that it's quite short and has the diamonds at the bottom and no collar, it's not really a conventional design, so, um, how'd you figure it out? I'm utterly stuck here... (All I need is the blue fabric and some cardboard for the top hat and to assemble everything-- including making some gumboots white, and... it's done!)

Let's see, I think the basic I used for my cape was a just a rectangle, with the diamond pattern cut in at the bottom. Pinned at the top with the brooch and I added each diamond to the cape separately (granted I had about a month to work on it^^) and then each card suit on the diamonds was added with the iron on transfers, the ones you can use in a printer.

I hope that made some sense^^ Here is my costume, if looking at pictures help you figure out what I was trying to explain http://www.acparadise.com/acp/display.php?c=28406

EEE! You're awesome: thankyou! And... you look so cute! :D

I have felt for the hearts and clubs and shit-- was planning on spraying fixative on the back of them and ironing them on. (And maybe handstitching, depending on how well they hold or not.) But the rectangle idea? I was suspecting it was that sort of shape, but... yes. Thankyou so much! (Also, what did you use for the little dangly bits at the bottom of the diamonds? I've bought gold sequiny things, but I'm curious as to what you used. I was tempted to go with bells but thought that might be kind of noisy. Jury's still out for me at the moment, though.)

I actually used little jingle bells sewn on to the bottom of each diamond (at a con, you always knew where I was^^)

Thanks, guys! (And CL: thankyou SO much for your pointers! Seriously. :) )

I was at the Armageddon con in Melbourne on Sunday. To my knowledge, I was the only AA/PW cosplayer there (but a HEAP of people recognised me, which completely tripped me out).
