I really like Case 2. It adds more to Francis's unique character. Edgeworth or Phoenix, for example, would go with the truth. Even if what she did was "right", she was still supposed face consequences of her deed. This is what is shown in the series.

That's different than what series show us, but I would never say it's better or worse. I personally enjoyed this concept.
I thought about making a playable version of this, a fangame. Could I have your permission?
