I've decided that now that i got my research paper and the third marking period of school is over, I would start a project online in the easy downward slope, before the year ends with the brutal regents spike.

Why him? Who the hell else is that big of a problem to our community nowadays, and who in their right mind WOULDNT try to sway the guy from his current state of insanity?

But, I can't do it alone. that's why I'm coming to you guys. this is our chance to do something a bit bigger than you and I; it's a chance to get into his mind. make yourselves known, though, and clear the name of video games and other bullshit he's been spouting for ages!

After all: Video games don't kill people, People kill people.

So, if you all want to help out my crusade, which will probably go ignored, most likely (but it's always good to try, right?), start writing your comments, questions, responses, attacks, ect. to Mister Jack Thompson. After all, the world would be a better place, and the satire and fun-poking is only so helpful. time to start rallying people, you know?

a few rules, however, because this might get ugly.

- DONT BE TOO RUDE. he might be off his rocker, but it will only fuel his idiotic fires.
- DONT SWEAR (too much). again, see rule 1.
- Try to be somewhat tasteful.
- Post your messages to him here, so people can look them over and such. I'll put them all together in a month or so.

The guy's only in the news nowadays because people still bother to give him their attention, which causes his ego to inflate like a parade balloon. Besides, he probably gets millions of E-Mails a day, so expecting any sort of response, let alone a nice one, is sort-of silly

The guys a loony, i just want to get a whole lot of people to tell him that all at once in one big email. o.o; sure people have been doing it for a while, but it wouldn't hurt. he might try and 'sue' me, but other than that...

I would both like to call him a loon and to bring up some solid evidence against his stance.

Counter-Strike is a PC game, first person shooter, where you join a team of either 'Counter-Terrorists' or 'Terrorists' and do such things as rescue hostages, disarm bombs, and the like. The game is far from oriented towards mass murdering and is more geared towards teamwork. The shooter may have played this game, but it doesn't account for the possible planning of the attack. In Counter-Strike, there is no planning. The battle begins as soon as the match starts, you have to think on-the-fly.

Any person with a gun wouldn't have the paitience to actually know that guns require reloading. Plus, video games can only teach you that people die from guns, but they far from teach you how to use a real one. This is why I believe the blame should be pinned on movies: You can always catch a glimpse of a person reloading their gun. The shooter obviously also had training, otherwise he would not know how to aim the gun well.

The only way to restrict the sale of the games to minors would be to also restrict the sale of the games to everybody under 'doubt'. Why? They could be buying it -for- their little brothers, and trying to go to such a level to make sure no one buys this game because of it's content would surely bring about a nationwide riot, due to people's privacy being invaded simply because of an anti-video game law. It'd be the end of freedom.

I would also like to know why he considers movies and music appropriate. Music is a major, if not THE source of people acting like complete idiots. Namely, the rap music and the death metal are two major sources of musicians singing that they'll 'cut people, kill people' and generally acting as an 'emo' of today's world. This in turn has led to a lot of hate in the nation, at least among kids because they all call each other 'gay'.

Going after Music and Movies is much more sensible in my opinion: They're all becoming too much of the same thing. What have Video Games actually done? About 12 years ago we had -no- problems with Video Games and now they're under the threat of law enforcement.

I would also like to point out that drugs are hardly a connection with gamers. Drugs are an entirely different case, where you found the connection between gamers and drugs is a mystery. Drugs, in reality, often have very little to no presence in games yet in almost every movie every character has some form of drug, be it a cigarette all the way down to snorting cocaine.

What about sex scenes in movies? Jack got fired up because GTA: San Andreas had an unused 'sex minigame' that wasn't programmed to be accessible from the main game anyhow. Jack also got fired up at The Sims 2 because of the 'naked people' who in reality are just built like barbie dolls. What does this mean? That all barbie dolls are subject to banning due to 'sexual content'? With the logic of The Sims 2, I would consider that likely. After all, barbie dolls do incur a level of realism the likes of which have never been seen before.

Lastly, I'd like for Jack Thompson to do a little research into what games he's accusing instead of firing accusations at them. To know a gamer, you have to be a gamer.
