However, those two terms pretty much cover any reason why murder would take place. Greed/lust for money/physical belongings/power/people or revenge for a past wronging. I suppose there's also religious killing, i.e. persecution, though if you investigate deeper, it can almost always be rooted in greed or revenge.

Probably counts as blackmail but someone that just ruins your life. If that person was never around you would have a nice happy life with a family but no because that person is there you are living a shithole of an apartment, alone, depressed. Where you just don't know any other solution then to just end that person's life.
For motive. I saw something on the sniper(a few months or so before the announcing of his execution) Saying the reason he kill everyone was to just to put his wife(ex I think at the time of the killings) into the whole thing blaming it all on the mystery sniper.
