Yeah, you're right, it was a bad match, but I guess we did that trick three times now... :yuusaku: So I hope the next match will be better, I really do. Otherwise we'll be kicked out in no time...

Brazil VS Portugal match = fail. No conviction, no nothing. What an anticlimax.

Looking forward to Portugal and Spain, though. Once we enter the knockout rounds things should start to get real interesting.

The US got kicked out... by Ghana. Depressing.

Tomorrow we're up against Mexico... and Higuain needs to score to be back at the World Cup's top scorer position. Or not, as long as we advance to quarter-finals.

Germany's counter attack is lethal.

It should've been 2-2 at half time, made a world difference. Germany were relying on their defense now whilst England went full on the attack to get the equalizer. Thus resulting in a lot of space between the midfield/attack and the defense, which Germany perfectly exploited and got 2 fine goals. If they went with a 2-2 into the second half, England wouldn't had to go fully on the attack and who knows what might have happened then. It's harsh to say, but honestly; England made Germany look godlike. Serbia won against them for fuck sake. Germany's defense is weak, like all other defenses this WC. (bar Brazil probably)

Congratulations Germany, I am all in for a Brazil/Netherlands - Germany final.

Honestly I think the only difference this would have made is it ending up 4-2! Yeah it would have raised their spirits and they might have been a bit better, but no amount of morale could get them to beat Germany XD they just need to stop being shit lmao

WELL THAT WAS DREADFUL.

We played such a poor game. All the strikers were stealing all the glory and shooting for themselves, working together and its as if the defenders had dissapeared half the time! That second goal SO went in, the fact they don't use technology is pointless, that's what its there for.

Nevermind, congrats to germany. They played an excellent game.

Okay, well everything's already been said, but ho crap that was absolutely dreadful. I guess Germany deserved the win - they're naturally faster and more skilled anyway - but none of England's best players got ANYWHERE near their potential. I have to say, though, although I know zilch about football, England's turnaround after Germany's second goal - two goals (YES two goals and anyone who disagrees is a bloody cunt) in less than a minute! - was epic bordering on Ace Attorney levels.

I really do think that second goal would've made a difference. After Germany's third goal - which came so quickly after the free kick none of the feckin' sluggish England defenders were ready for it - morale just totally plummeted and England went back to playing as abysmally as they were in the first 30-or-so minutes.

David James, I forgive you everything. You were the best damn player out there tonight. If it wasn't for him the score would've been like 9-1 or so. God, it was so awful I almost started supporting Germany halfway through.

4-4-2 = fail. I mean, THIS is supposed to be England playing defensively? Come on.

I kinda feel sorry for Capello. Yeah, England's gotten worse and worse since he came on, but I still sympathize.

^^ that is the lulz. Oh, British newspapers, you will never fail to amuse.

It was really sad watching Lampard's disappointed face. He hasn't managed to score in this World Cup, has he? Neither has Rooney. Shame...

Oh well, at least now I can enjoy the rest of the tournament without any major disappointments. Except something like that godawful Portugal VS Brazil match. Talk about anticlimatic...

Ooh, Argentina VS Mexico in ten minutes. Finally, teams that understand how to play football =D

EDIT:

3-0!!! Argentina have really outdone themselves. The first two goals were a little nyeh (no offence, DeMatador)... The first was blatantly offside, and the second was the result of an idiotic mistake by an idiotic Mexican defender - but wow, that third one was beautiful.

Ended 3-1 but DAMN what a match!!! I was so nervous during the first 15 minutes of the first half, and then BAM! TEVEZ! I love that man.
First goal by Tevez was just luck + skill, second one by Higuain too (BTW see quote below), but third one by Tevez was beautiful. I was hoping for Tevez to score a hat-trick (like Higuain did against South Korea, and both of them deserved it), but Maradona sent Verón in his place (still don't get why, Veron didn't do shit). And the mexican goal was excellent, too.

And the quote I mentioned above:
Yesterday, I wrote:
Tomorrow we're up against Mexico... and Higuain needs to score to be back at the World Cup's top scorer position.

Spoiler: Today

Now we're up against Germant, this Saturday... I'm so friggin nervous for it! There's no way of telling what is going to happen in that match, they are both amazing teams, and have lead a great World Cup so far. We'll see!

Also, tomorrow's Chile-Brazil (pretty sure Brazil'll win), and Tuesday's Spain-Portugal (don't really know who'll win... though probably Portugal).

And you know what other goal was illegal, my dear Blake? The Hand of God.
We all knew it was a handgoal, but, "a little with the head of Maradona and a little with the hand of God", we beat England 2-1. And, two weeks later, the World Cup itself.

In other words, Shhh.

Congrats Netherlands! 2-1, and advancing into Quarter-finals... Just that... now you're up against Brazil, which beat Chile 3-0. You lead a great WC so far, but, sorry to tell you, Brazil's going to kick your ass. You have a good team, but Brazil... is Brazil.

And Tacas: Of course, now I get it! It was all an optical illusion that only the referee, Mr. Larrionda, could see. God bless his eyesight.

I am not sure about it. Of course Brazil will be the favourite to take this game, but it surely won't be an ass-kicking performance. Looking at their past confrontations it always has been a close call, especially the last few games. Last time those two teams met was in 1998, which got down to penalties. (semi-finals) The Netherlands has been very solid so far and their attack and midfield are in no way less than Brazil. It will get down to both their defenses, since both play a similar game. They rely on the fact that they both want to control the game, and get chances from there on. Thus it will turn out to be an attractive and exciting game for sure. Robben is back for the dutch, I expect him to have an impact on the game. It will be a close call either way. The one coming out of winner is basically assured of a final-spot.

Fuck. That's all I can say to the disaster that match was, I really had hope that we could draw to get to the penalties. But we were slaughtered 3 - 0.

Beausejour, Suazo and Valdivia tried but they kicked it anywhere. Even Sanchez failed. But hey, at least I'm happy Chile got that far... it's been 12 years without going to a world cup and 48 without winning a match in a world cup so I'm really happy. Now it's just following Brazil, Argentina and Germany who are the best candidates to win the cup. However I don't want Brazil to win, they are assholes, against Nigeria they made a hand goal and against Chile they kicked their asses, literally. Pushes kicks and besides they faked some falls. I prefer Argentina to win, the nearest to the continent and to my country the best.

So... that. (Now start insulting me for my complaints) :payne:
Thanks. It was, is and always will be a pleasure.

Brazil - Nigeria? You probably mean Brazil - Ivory Coast (or Costa de Marfil, for us), since we played against Nigeria, not them.

And yeah, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Germany are my candidates right now. Now, if we beat Germany, we'd be up against Paraguay/Japan/Spain/Portugal (my bet, Portugal). So, semi-finals would be Uruguay-Brazil and Argentina-Portugal. And if, God help us, we beat Portugal, I can guarantee a Brazil-Argentina final.

If it gets to that, it can be either the happiest day of my life, or the saddest one.

But first things first, Germany this Saturday! God I'm too excited D:

I am, but not only because of Germany, 'cause of two very good football teams play each other. YAY for a good game.
And I would not say that Brazil kicks ass. Before they were a troup of loners who could make magic with their feet. Now they are some strategist guys who think more than before and who have a better teamwork.
