I've never Magic Kaito so I have no idea whether it's a good association or not... But he wears a nice hat, so it can't be that bad, I guess xD

The worse thing is, there's apparently a character actually named 'Kaitou X'. I feel unoriginal now D:

Oh, I meant the one from Detective Conan.

How I came up with "Meenyman" originated from Mr.Meeny, which I randomly made up as a kid. I don't know how I got that name, but over time I didn't want the "Mr." part, so I changed it into Meenyman.

Hmmm, perhaps this is why people call me Meeny...... nah, can't be. :godot:

My user name is just a recycled one from an older forum I used to frequent.

If any of you young'uns remember, back in the day there was a Japanese cartoon called "Gundam Wing". Duo Maxwell happened to be my favoritest character, and I also noticed that I was kinda like him (except for the tragic life story...). So the Maxwell part is from there. A little later I bought some American-released Doujin of the show, and then Episode Zero. At one point Dr G called Duo "Maxwell's Demon" (which scientifically makes absolutely no sense, but whatever, maybe they were talking about a different type of Maxwell's Demon?). To this comment Duo replies "No, but I am the God of Death". So... the name is kinda an homage to the creation of his "shinigami" persona that he develops in the show.

As for the spelling... I can't remember if the original was a typo, or if I was reading some book or manga about demons, in which the word was spelt "daemon" or "deamon"... So Maxwell's Demon became MaxwellDeamon

Ta da. The long-winded response.

I could have sworn I posted in this topic many an eon ago.

My name has gone through several changes.

1st: Macbeth - Taken from the Shakespeare play of the same name. I was debating whether to use that or Beowulf but Macbeth had more pleasant ring to it so I chose that.

2nd: Agent Macbeth - This happened about the time I discovered Elite Beat Agents. I was madly in love so I decided to have my name changed to reflect this passion.

3rd: Walkie Talkie Man - Another EBA toss-off from the song of the same name.

4th: Mr. Bear - I've stuck with this name longer than any other. It's taken from the Mr. Bear character of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict. He's actually a stuffed bear whom one of the antagonists carries around and asks for advice from.

5th: Mr. Bear Jew - This name occurred to me several months after watching Inglorious Basterds. I had my name changed as a reference to 'The Bear Jew' from that film.

Back when I was 11 or so I was just getting into anime, so, like a newb, I chose something Japanese.

"Oni" literally means "demon". However, originally it was Onibokusu (Field/Grass Demon). I was really just mixing and matching random works that rolled off the tongue.

I and my best friend's first names begin with an A (me) and a D. When I was in primary school (in England) we were really good at art so we decided to make a website on this cheap website maker and combined our initials to make AD-Art. That name is now burned into my mind. I have this name on every single forum and oekaki (Apart from Bulbagarden, I was called Miltanker and later Magma Pirate).

Mine's pretty self explanatory - it's just 'Freaky', and then my name. On other websites I sometimes use variations (like Freakyalex13 - it's my lucky number - and Freakyalex666 - it's HIS lucky number).

Oh, and when I was younger I used to use NarutovsYugi. Because, err, I liked Naruto and Yugioh. And I still do, as I am woefully immature.

It wouldn't be. First off, names don't really TRANSLATE per se, and second off, I've never seen the "au" combination used in Japanese.

Still sounds cool, though.

I'd change mine in order to more easily hide from my stalker (hell, that's why I changed it the first time...), but everyone here knows me as Anna/Acey, and I like this name. :larry:

Blake?
When I started making games with RPG Maker XP 5 years ago, I saw a green pointy-haired sprite with daggers and he instantly became the protagonist of all my games. I've done like 3 or 4 games with "Blake" as the protagonist. Some in English, some in Spanish, but all of them with Blake. (Yeah, he turned from a medieval warrior to a lawyer)
Soon, I grew to like the name so much I started to use it in all the internet sites as my nickname (except in Youtube, where my username is my full name).

Yaragorm is short for Yaragormasacheesgorplagoo which is just some random crap I made up one day in 5th Grade. When I made my Youtube account, I shortened it to "Yaragorm" because it's 8 letters and 8 is a lucky number. The name kinda stuck with me and I've been using it for almost every account I've ever made. My cousin started to use that name too and sometimes we share the Yaragorm accounts.

If you find a user on any other site with the username "Yaragorm" then it's either me, my cousin, or someone pretending to be me/my cousin.

My name, Chikikyo (chee-kee-kee-yoh) is consisted of two reffering words...

First, the "CHI" word means power in Japanese/Chinese language. (Correct me if im wrong...)

And Second...im pretty sure EVERYONE HERE watches Inuyasha. You know the priestess character, "KIKYO"? Thats where I got her name to combine it with the "CHI" word. And yeah, I made this name up since I was in 8th grade.

If I play games to input my ranking, it will be sometimes CHIKIKYO, CHI, HIRYU, and MAMIYA.
