My tentative theory: It allows me to explore male sexuality in a way that doesn't revolt me or make me at all uncomfortable. It's purely fictional, and allows me control over what does/doesn't happen. I'm also not directly involved in it. But simultaneously, it allows me a glimpse at something I might not otherwise have a desire to experience.
Just my two cents.
And my Phoenix Wright OTP is manslash. I've got nothing against femmeslash, I've just never found a pairing that really struck me.

Oddly I don't know that many lesbians. Plenty of my friends are bi, or straight but open (as in, never met someone of the same sex that they've been attracted to but wouldn't turn someone down based on it if they were), but not many are lesbians. For whatever reason I don't tend to get along well with gay men, though. Just generally speaking. Never quite figured out why that was.
