Congratulations to Spain, it was a deserved win. They were better from the first minute.

I still don't believe the octopus, though. It's an octopus and can't predict things.

Have you forgotten that there's actually a 50% chance that the octopus chooses the right country? That's too big of a chance for me to believe these kind of things, really.

But believe all you want, it's just my opinion on it.

But it got every one right. a 50% chance means it should really have got some wrong. It's like flipping heads 8 times in a row. It happens, but generally it's highly unlikely.

Face it, the Octopus is good. (It's also British! Hatched in a marina in Portsmouth, it moved to Germany in it's infancy.)

You know, of course you could be right. But I just don't tend to believe these things. You surely have a point, though. I just wish things to be examined more before I believe them. I'm not telling you you're wrong, though. There is just still that chance that it had luck all the time ;)

But let's talk about the match, though. I was really embarrassed by all the yellow cards we got. I really felt ashamed of our team a bit...

I read the exact same thing... but it said that it had hatched near an Italian island :S

So now it's German, Italian and British in my head. Excellent.

And believe it or not, Siren, Paul guessed 8 matchs out of 8 in this Cup. It also guessed all but 2 matches of the Eurocup, which means he guessed 12 out of 14 matches. The probability of guessing 12 matches out of 14 is of 0.56%. And don't forget we're talking about an octopus. Who lives in the water. And doesn't even know what football is. Without mentioning it's colorblind.

Oh, also, apparently, Paul has retired.

As a reward for his accurate predictions, aquarium staff presented him with his very own replica World Cup trophy garnished with his favourite food - mussels.

Well, that's a bummer. But at least he got a tiny Cup... and food!

I don't blame them for retiring him. Quit while he's ahead. 12 out of 14 is a great record, 12 of of 30 isn't if it all goes tits up.

Absolutely! But they are a south african tradition! I heard that some of the players were actually going deaf from them though! Yikes!

Fun World Cup fact: America's uniforms were made out of recycled plastic bottles!
