I still find myself thoroughly incapable of even hearing anything to do with Castlevania without remembering how disappointed I was when I first played one of the games.

Not because it was a bad game. Not because I kept track of the rave reviews or anything.

No, I was disappointed entirely because in the game, Simon Belmont had no personality.

And that disappointment stemmed from how I imagined Simon Belmont had to be, which was from Captain N: The Game Master.

I know it's unfair, but those really silly cartoons from Back Then had such an impact on my memories. (Even the Saban-hacked anime, like how I didn't know anything about Sengoku Majin GoShogun, but loved and watched every episode of Macron-1...)

TV shows were so much better back in those good old days...

Bill Cainton and Sock em Boppers, any one?

Animorphs...

Oh wow, it's all coming back to me now...

For those in the States, we used to pay like $3.99 for a CHAPTER of manga on paper back (like American Comics). Around $20 for a volume of manga. (I might have the first volume of Lum, which was about 500 pages, somewhere in my storage...) The very first press of Ranma 1/2 was running 18 or so dollar...

Another thing - playing Tetris on your TI-82/83 calculator.
