Any other hygienic activities you don't participate in that you'd like to warn us about there Yaragorm?

I don't use deodorant, but that's because I'm pubescently challenged and therefore produce no odors.

My dentist rules. He has a big thing of warm parrafin wax for you to dip your hands in before you get your teeth cleaned, so you get a neat little spa treatment while you're getting worked on. My hands AND teeth feel great when I leave.

I've never had a cavity in my life, though, so I haven't had much of a taste of the 'scary dentist.' The only major dental work I've had done was getting my wisdom teeth taken out, and after they showed me the video of what they were going to do, I demanded to be knocked the hell out for it.

I kind of like kind of hate my dentist. He's really nice to me and stuff but it more a competetive thing. I'm the same age as his daughter and we both play Netball. Our team and hers are fiercely competitive towards each other. It got to the point where she pushed my friend so hard she started crying. becuase we're the only two good teams in the whole comp So yeah our team beat his in the Grand Final the year before last and we still went to the dentist as normal. But last year.. they beat us by 1-freaking-goal. I havent been able to face him since.
My teeth are in good condition except I really need braces. I just cant be bothered to book a orthadontist appointment. :karma:

sorry about my netball crap-talk :(

Er... I'm actually pretty sensitive with this topic. I was born with a small jaw, so when my permanent teeth came in, the came out crooked. I got traumatized by one who tried to pull a tooth out when I was a child, so I quite seeing one for nearly ten years. I apparently beat your record, Yaragorm. And I don't need deodorant either because I barely sweat at all.

A couple of years ago, we finally had three of my teeth filled--miraculous considering how terrible my teeth are--and we found a nice female dentist for the job. I had my teeth drilled and light-cured. I spent years building my tolerance to pain, and she was the one who finally pulled a tooth from me. It was a milk tooth that got stuck in between two permanent ones, though the actual extraction process was unplanned. She dabbed on anesthesia (my first-ever dose) but it ended up dulling my tongue. So here came the injection and I was like, "Oh... my... gosh..." (I'm also sensitive around needles) Since she put a bit of anesthesia on the injection site, it didn't hurt, I guess. Though the feeling of anesthesia leaking out from your gums and splashing into your mouth is quite unnerving.

Well, the dentist isn't there anymore. And my teeth are still crooked. And I'm not getting braces any time soon.

i've had at least... ten teeth pulled out. my teeth were always really screwed up. i had an underbite until i was ten or so, and there was actually a point where i had two fully grown sets of front teeth.

the first time i actually lost a tooth by myself (no pulling) was when i ate it. it was in 3rd/4th grade, i think. i did this two more times, then i just started losing teeth normally, but late. i still have some, actually.

let's see, orthodontia... i've had an expander, headgear (night, thank god), braces, and a retainer (night, too.) my orthodontist is even talking about another set of braces, which makes absolutely no sense because my teeth are fine now.

I still have two of my bottom baby teeth too, but there's no adult teeth under them, so there's no point in pulling them out *phew* They'll fall out eventually, my dentist tells me.

Oh, man. My aunt always just has to remind me of her stories when she had--believe it or not--worse teeth than me. But she always ends up traumatizing me by playing dentist and looking at my teeth...

This topic reminds me of what my history teacher says. We usually have discussions, where he asks questions and we answer them in depth. When no one answers, he'll say: "Oh come on, class, don't make me be the dentist here; I'm not pulling your teeth, give me an answer!"

Because there's a huge difference between never brushing them at all and brushing them once or twice a week, amirite?

Also, I started using deodorant when I was like 11.

I like my dentist. I've got a brace, a simple one, so it's not painful at all when I have my teeth examined. Also, they are kinda clean, so no problem.

Disgusting? Why would I use deodorant if I don't even need it? Maybe some of you need to grasp that not everybody goes into puberty at age 11, not everybody gets cavities for brushing teeth any less than twice a day, and most of all, not everyone is Yaragorm.

As is the usual, I hate going to the dentist. But I keep my teeth white and healthy since I brush 'em twice a day, whereas some people brush them twice a week, if that. Eww.

Ok, ok, ok. Let me get this straight: you don't brush your teeth except for once a week and you don't wear deodorant!? What the hell. Is your sense of smell on the fritz or something?? What about gym class?? Oh my word... Please tell me you don't sweat often... Or...or something. D:

I just remembered that I still have a Baby tooth thats been sort of wobly-ish for about 4 years now. The dentist said it should have come out by christmas but its still there wobling away XD.
The things I hate about the dentist are the wire thing they use to get between your teeth or something. And also the Bubblegum tasting flurine wash. Bleh I cant eat for hours and all I have in my mouth is the taste of blue bubblegum.

I believe what people with false teeth say: food doesn't taste as good. If the appearance worries you, get expanding brackets like what I'm thinking of getting. The... uh... "unsightly bits" are behind your teeth so nobody would see them. They can even come in off-white, if I'm not mistaken. Besides, glasses don't necessarily make you look nerdy. Imagine if you have glasses and false teeth. That's definitely worse. It's all about finding a pair that suits your look. They can even make you look sexy. :grey:

My aunt is my dentist, actually. But she lives in Thailand, so I don't get to see her as often as I'm supposed to. I see her about once a year (instead of once every six months). My teeth aren't rotting by the time I see her, granted, but they're usually in need of a good cleaning when the time comes around, so I end up getting a bit of a lecture each year.

Nothing bad though, and she's pretty nice about it. Plus it's free. And no cavities or anything nasty so far. *knocks on wood* Hopefully it stays that way :|
