It's totally crazy. They can't even justify why they're rioting...
And apparently all these people who are starting these riots and making life in London hell are from the ages 13-17 or something?
There was this weird interview the other day with 2 girls who were about 14-15 years old. The reporter asked them what they were rioting about...their response?

"Well, we just wanna let the rich people know that we can do anything we want!"
The reporter: "And you're drinking?"
"Yeah! We're drinking wine and just letting the rich people know what we can do!"

(of course I'm paraphrasing...but that about sums it up...)

an 11 year old girl was caught rioting and lotting, i swear, if we just got rid of all the chavs, britian woul be such a nice place!

does anyone remember that peaceful protest? no? well they got the hoses on them the first day, on here, we dont even get rubber bullets after three days!?
what IS this world coming to?

Yeah I know what you mean! I'm guessing that all these little British boys think Eminem is cool so they dress like him???
And that's so weird that they got hoses on the first day for a peaceful protest! The police in Britain won't use their sticks against these people who obviously aren't peaceful.
I guess with the whole, "America the Free" thing, they won't jump to extreme measures.
*sigh* who knows what this world is coming to? I'm just afraid for the future...

May I please request that the name gets changed? Because the riots are in all of southern England and not just London.

My condolences to all who's lives have been ruined or taken because of the douchebags involved.

Worst part? All the Sun has to say on the front page this morning about this is that Amy Winehouse's house was robbed. Yes, I know that's bad. But what about the people who died? Or the businesses destroyed? I don't want to sound disrespectful to the dead but what about the people who are actively being affected by this currently rather than someone who is dead. Or how about the families of those who've died in the riots? Oh, and I thought I'd say that this wasn't even the main feature. The main feature was about Glasgow Rangers.

Get your priorities straight, The Scottish Sun.

Edit: I just thought I'd say that I don't personally read it. But my parents do and I found it lying in the living room.

Scottish Daily Record had an article about "Why the riots didn't happen in Scotland" stating the reason being "We're not as post-modern" whatever that means. Though yeah the Sun is a scummy newspaper just below news of the world in my eyes surprised it wasn't shutdown in the scandal too.

Though I'm hoping the reason the stories are dying down is because the riots are calming down. Maybe the thugs heard the police were actually gonna be allowed to use some force and quieted down a bit.

Just for balance, May I point out that in the English Sun the front page is about one of the rioters that got jailed being an Ambassador for the Olympics,
and Pages 1, 4-(about 10 or 11) is dedicated to the rioting, with about a page or so dedicated to the man who died putting out a fire
And yes,
we should change the topic's name to the English (or British...? Technically, there was some twat in Scotland that got arrested for inciting rioting =Britain) Riots

Edit: If you're wondering why I read the English Sun, it's entirely because of the Football and Cricket coverage. Broadsheets are appallingly bad at Football coverage that doesn't concern the Premier League teams (Even the lower Prem teams get almost no coverage during the week) - [I find this highly annoying supporting a Championship team] I've never bothered with any other tabloid. I find broadsheet coverage of cricket way too dull to even consider reading.

They have been in Manchester and Leeds too, so not just the south. I think the BBC are now calling them the 'England Riots'.

Yeah I read somewhere that they were told they had to call them the England riots so as not to offend the rest of the UK haha....

Sucks to be English.

Yep though admittedly I did take the slightest bit of offence in an incident earlier when someone said the UK should take a leaf outta someone's book XP

And I've heard there was incidents in Sunderland so not exclusively south just probably majorly south.

Although the last time the Tories were in power, the riots had actual reasons. This time they're just idiots thinking they own the world. And as the First Minister's been quick to point out, they have been confined to England, not the rest of the UK. Which is at least something to be thankful for, if it escalated to the other countries it'd be even worse.

I don't even know where to begin on these riots. The level of bullshit is unbelievable. Suffice it to say instead of being arrested most of those pricks should've been put in body bags.
And Cameron is a piece of shit also. He's announced he wants to shut down social networking sites over there to stop the rioters from communicating:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhGbzQMFTFA
Yeah sure, that'll work. While affecting everybody else also :zenitora:
And of course Anonymous has put him on their shit list for it.

Yeah, of course, stop innocent people from getting onto social networking sites too. Thanks Cameron.

If it weren't for FaceBook, I wouldn't be able to find out about half the events that're going on. For example, a friend's birthday barbecue. So if it's shut down; I'll rage because it's the only way to communicate to some friends outside of school and also because I won't find out news.
