Naming an ideology after oneself is generally a bad move; that tends to only work if other people name it after you, often posthumously.

Also I'm not sure a satire counts as a satire when it criticises all sides of a debate at once. Makes my brain hurt.

You're not exactly breaking new ground with your views. With the exception of your shot at how some people (one of my sisters among them) favor gender-neutral pronouns, you haven't said anything here that hasn't been said before by someone less empathetic.

For public record's sake, though it's pretty obvious: DoMaya asked me off-site to change his name to DoMaya Blackquill. I was in a bit of a rush, so I forgot to ask him to post in the name thread once I did.
Hi! I've largely stepped back from C-R due to life stuff. Please contact one of the other staff members for help!

Ask Charlie Hebdo, Gerk.

Also, I laugh every time someone requests that a thread be locked because "it has no point anymore" or "it's over". Nobody's gonna lock the thread just because you disagree with it, you silly geese.

You should also stop asking about DM's name. You're going down a rabbit hole you don't want yourself in. You're messing with powers beyond your reach or even grasp.

Seriously though when did CR in general get this uptight? This isn't the same forum that once said "kenjimurasame suck a dick" and got away with it. What would 2007 Holy Hell say? What happened, did we all just... Age a lot? I was gonna say "grow up" instead but I don't think being unable to take a joke is exactly what maturity is about. I actually think it's the opposite.

It's a satire on the "Politically Correct" point of view.

"That offends me!" Should not be grounds for something be censored.
I've been on the internet a long time. I've talked to so many people who share their own opinions freely.

I always held CR in high regards when it came to freedom of expression.
Yes, there were times people went over the line, myself included, but we learned from those times.

Tell me, what kind of a world do we live in where even our internet personalities are subject to what is "socially acceptable"?
People are too afraid to voice their opinions, to speak against the collective.

I don't care if I lose every one of my friends, I don't care if I'm bound and chained for what I believe in.
I refuse to live in a world where the individual must be squelched.

I don't expect people to conform to my views, I don't even expect people to care about them.
I just can't stand being treated as a monster just because I want my voice to be heard

So you're suggesting we kill him?

Ha ha, I once went over the line here before believe it or not. I figure I can say it now since it won't matter and I have matured. Let's just say I was one of the reasons several years ago that made the forums change their new member policy to requiring 50 posts before making topics. Just to say I got carried away with my "freedom of expression".

Still, I still miss the infancy days of CR where we were more carefree and stupid and not so serious all the time.

Thank you DoMaya for expanding our thinking.

Still won't conform though. I'd be one of those who would try to get in good with you and usurp your throne from your clutches just because it'd be a fun thing to do and to follow someone's thinking would just be boring.

When it comes to CR, it just depends on what the rules are and how we collectively decide to enforce them. I know we never set out to be the Grand Arbiters of Taste, it's simply the difference between people saying something of value that happens to offend some people and things with no value said to upset people.

It'a something I think that the staff needs to discuss as part of our measures to revamp CR but in this case I think this topic falls within our guidelines.

There's a difference between a joke or satire that is actually funny... and then this. I've said it before, DoMaya is being oversensitive to the oversensitivity of other people. He's basically exactly the thing that he's satirizing.

Yes, things should only be censored if they annoy people or cause them to have panic attacks!

If you say something that might be considered offensive by other people and I don't answer... it's generally cause I don't answer. It's not that I am offended myself, I just see no point in answering. Could have other reasons, too. Like I can't think of an appropriate response. If someone says a joke that could be seen as offensive but, for example, I don't see the offensive part (like recently a white shirt with a noose on it and it said... something, I forget... and people say it's offensive cause it's racist and I'm all "HOW? How is it offensive? Does it say 'Hey you WANTED to be hung like a black man' on the back?" cause I honestly do not see a noose as being a sign that ONLY means black hangings. White people got hung, too.) I will either not say anything or laugh a little.
I tend to not show big emotions in public, anyway.

I wouldn't say we've grown up that much. I don't think anyone here is seriously criticising DoMaya for what happened. Though literally yeah we did age a lot. I think I remember you being a lot quieter and me being an actual mouse on the forums.

As for beliefs I hold the view that, so long as your views don't intentionally seek to harm others I don't have a problem with them. I'll just let em be. Doesn't matter if I disagree with them, it's not me who has to live with them.

Seriously though what happened to your foot?!

The "just" would tell you otherwise.

Don't let other people tell you what's "right" people, find out for yourself.
