My mom wanted me to be a lawyer... But if anything, I'd be a law librarian. But even then, I'd rather be a children's librarian and come home covered in glitter glue every day. Because you know, glitter glue way sexier than lawyer germs.

I wouldn't mind writing about attorneys and court and whatnot, but I don't think I'd really have what it takes to be a real-life prosecutor/defense attorney.

I can argue well, and usually keep my corner a very long time if I don't actually win. But to be a lawyer... ehh.

Well for starts you have to do damn well in exams... and I'd never mange that. I think I could do ok as a lawyer, but for the greater good of would be clients, it's PROBABLY a better idea I stick to the novel I'm writing. lol

being a lawyer means reading, reading, and reading until you drop dead, basically.... it's not all fun and games ^^'

and so reality made an extremely fun concept into something boring and tiring again, like it always does ;_;

rawr, I might just start working with forensics later on though.... or.... be the one doing the autopsies >.> someone has to provide all the upcoming lawyers among you with a good report! ^^

Mm, I've had the idea of becoming a prosecutor (officier of justitie here in the Netherlands) for a long time already and I'd love to do it. Especially since there are only 400 of them here, I'd get a big variety of cases. When I grow older I might change jobs and be a judge then, because usually you need to have had attorney experience to become a judge. I'd love to study law at the university =].

I'd love to be a lawyer, but I do have to keep reminding myself that Phoenix Wright is not equal to the real world. I mean, sometimes I have to review testimonies several times to spot the contradictions; and in real life, I tend to trip over my tongue a lot when speaking. Therefore I don't think I'd be a very good lawyer.

However, I do like science (and I'm fairly good at it; better than I am with most other subjects anyway, I generally fail at creative stuff). I'd like to go into forensics or something similar.

I could never be a lawyer, even if I wanted. I'm just...not right for that job. Though these game have made it look fun, I don't think it is really like that~

I wanted to be a vet when I was really little. I'm not too sure about that though anymore. Ever since I was about 10 I loved forensics, so I was thinking of maybe doing something in that since it has kept my interest for so long..
Re: How many of you actually WANT to be laywers?Topic%20Title

I'm definitely going into Law, but I doubt I'll be doing court work. I'd love to be a Crown Prosecutor, but it's not exactly the easiest position to nab.

As long as I don't need to dedicate my whole life to being an attorney (as in offering my services in the same way a mercenary would, as to allow me to have more time to do more things), I am planning to be an attorney.

I'm considering being a prosecuting attourney.

I couldn't be a defense attourney knowing i might have to defend someone who is truly guilty. just look at phoenix in case 2-4.

I'd much rather try to get people in trouble, cuz if they really are not guilty, then, as edgeworth would say, "the truth will reveal itself"

I also always thought of suing someone. For the fun of it. And for the feeling of like "Yes!". But not using a lawyer. And I always watch those court shows on TV like "The People's Court" because I have no cable and I either watch that, some educational kid's show, the news, or stories on god. I'll probably consider being one again and giving up. It's just fun to imagine jobs and stuff. Like working in a bakery. And dominating the world by owning Wal-Mart. Or selling pens on penisland.net. Or was it .com?

Heh, don't you hate it when people assume that you only want to go into forensics because of CSI~?

That greatly annoys me when people say that for some reason. I've only seen 2 whole episodes of that show anyways....geez.

To be fair, it's a reasonable assumption on their part. CSI is responsible for thousands of people wanting to get into forensics.

I don't want to be a lawyer. There's no way in hell my poor confuzzled head could handle something like that...

I've set my career choice: I want to make cartoons. And maybe manga.

I had been thinking about being a doctor for a while, but gave up for the sorta the same reasons I don't want to be a lawyer. :maggy:

I have a friend who is studying law though :3

Another thing...

There are other types of law rather than criminal law, y'know. I want to be a lawyer, but probably not a defense attorney/prosecutor...(Although prosecuting in Mock Trials seems like a good choice for me :D )

I think I'll go into patent/environmental law. :phoenix:

I'm a good arguer, but like many people, growing up I thought Lawyers were crooks. It actually took a little bit for me to grow on a character like Phoenix because I had such a preconception of them.

When things get bad at work I ask my coworkers how long it takes to be a Lawyer instead, the anwser I usually get is about eight years. I shiver.

Okay, today was weird....

Somebody called to my cell (I have the Steel Samurai ringtone) I was like... huh? Who could that be?

Then some woman started asking me why I needed his husbands tax-info and I was like Ehh...?

"Aren't you [MY NAME CENSORED], a lawyer?" (yeah, there's a lawyer with the same name as I o.O)

No, I'm just a high school student waiting for class to start.

She was like "Oh, haha" ^^

This was funnier than anything else! :gant: Pretty strange IMO. :eh?:

On topic: I don't want to be a lawyer, because I would be bored in the court. In reality only a small minority of all cases are like AA's: hilarious and interesting. The others are just boring. And I couldn't stand if I couldn't hear those musics in the courtroom. -_-"

I laughed, I'm sorry!

I would like to be a lawyer, but I have a difficult time getting the balls to speak in front of people. I have trouble with speaking in the first place; I always trip over myself. I can't make immediate connections or know right off the bat what questions to ask, I have to study. I'd be the worst cross-examiner in the world. As much as I'd like to be one, I wouldn't be very good at it.
(Plus I'd probably be dropping F-bombs all over the courtroom.)
Researching lawyer stuff though, from what I've seen, defense attourneys don't have the best of public opinion. Sad :( But understandable, considering most defense attourneys aren't fighting for the truth...
I also think I'd be blown out the window for thinking that defense attourneys & prosecutors should work together, not against.

I am studying criminal justice right now, however, & I can fully attribute the reason to Phoenix. I've had a very small interest in law before, but playing the game made me realize how much I absolutely loved solving the puzzles. I'd love to be a forensic scientist, crime scene investigator, detective, or something of the sort. lol thx nick!

Lawyer is still one of my career options, in case I happen to be able to manage it someday. I think I'd only actually do lawyer stuff if I was able to be co-counsel or someone's understudy first, though.

As for defending the guilty...
I'm pretty sure that Phoenix can pick & choose his clients because he owns his own practice & doesn't work for the state. If he was a public defender, he wouldn't have a choice.

As for how he gets by when most of his clients don't pay him? Image
LOL.
