...I don't think your hair needs to be much longer to pull off a decent resemblance. You might have more trouble finding awesome apparel to match her outfit, though.

I bet you do.. And you're lucky I managed to find pictures from back then, otherwise I would've laughed, then sank into a questionable despair over not having more pictures of me.
Desiree's apparel looks kinda like normal motorcycle gear, only in a bright red color. (Wait, when was the last time I looked at a pic of Desiree? I dunno.) But my hair's growing out again, so I can manage it for a while until it gets to the right length, then I can work on the rest of the cosplay.

Yeah, you should actually. The comics are amazing - Wallace is the best! I haven't seen the movie yet though, 'cause my Mom thinks it's too inappropriate
And don't worry, I had a friend who used to dye his hair dark blue...

Your mother let you read the comics, but she won't let you watch the movies!?!?
...That's just weird. I personally thought the movies were quite a bit tamer and toned down, compared to everything that's insinuated in the comics. Not to spoil anything, but Pilgrim actually comes off as somewhat nicer (or at least more "generically decent guy," and less "occasionally douchey") in the movie. And there's certainly a lot more cussing, rampant violence, and random makeout sessions to be found in the comics. (They just couldn't fit it all into a movie.)

You see, the thing is, she can't monitor a comic - but for movies, she found this website, where there's a quadrillion different categories such as: "Swearing", "Words that your child might repeat at home" (which is swearing!), "Drugs", "Jump Scenes", (Like, what the heck? It's Scott Pilgrim!) "Sex Scenes", (I mean, it just shows Ramona and Scott in bed... and they even admit they're not having sex...) and I could go on forever. Then, it tells you every single thing that fits into these categories. Not to mention my Mom is really over-protective, I mean, I'm 13, but I can't watch a PG-13 movie? And I can't do stuff such as skateboard without wristguards...
It is pretty weird.

I agree, the movie is way more toned down than the books, I'd say.
That said, I saw it on my own. I'm not sure my mum really knows what it or the books are like...

Nudal has increased in Awesomenessity too, but not quite as much, as he still needs to see the movie.
(He doesn't dye his hair in homage to Ramona, either.)
