Yup. When I look at DoA5 graphics and then back at DoA4, you can really tell how the graphics got improved upon, or degressed back into 'anime' style for DoA4 when comparing to DoA3 which was the first to include a more realistic style along with skintone.

I have to say, I like how they added the option of having dirty and sweat appear on the characters during battle. I admit, though, I'm a little pissed that they annoyed Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate a re-updated re-release of DoA5 along with DoA5 Plus that came out for the PSVita. Good thing is, Ein is finally added in again.

I hope they keep the tradition of giving him the supreme fanservice outfit of red pants and shackles. :nick-heart:

Er....sure I understand that dirt and sweat rendering in a game is probably an impressive display of engine power but given the context I'm not sure those pure motives are the reason such things are in the game. :yuusaku:

Because I wasn't able to fix the pic, I changed my av to one of my fave characters from No More Heroes. Harvey M. Volodarskii. His theme is pretty good, and so is the battle.

EDIT: Aw snap, didn't see that until today. Thanks, eliska! I'll change the pic the next chance I get.

Gotta make the bewbs sexy by making them dirty and sweaty! Never was a fan of DOA cause I always found the actual combat system rather clunky. But then again, I've never been a fan of the 3D fighters like Tekken, Soul Calibur and DOA to begin with. I just can't stand strafing in mah fighting games.
I'm Blak, and I have shit taste.

Previous DoA games didn't have dirt and sweat and I still loved looking at Ein in his shirtless glory. Jann Lee is a freaking Walking Shirtless Scene, but he never did it for me. Mostly cause he's basically a rip-off of Bruce Lee...
Although, Blak, from the non-DLC outfits I have seen in DoA5, majority of the clothes for the girls became much more modest. Except the swimsuits from the Legend Battle course but those were for Christie and Tina, the two women in the game that basically love to show off their goods.

I'm wondering if I should put one of my forum text-signatures as my signature here...

Oh, and Gnobo made the Klavier/Franziska kiss manip...I wonder if I should give him credit for that.

Changed my avatar to one of the CGs of Hanako from Katawa Shoujo.
And the subtitle under the avatar is the title of her bad ending.
No worries about any spoilers, this isn't the CG from her bad ending.
You'd know the CG for her bad ending if you saw it...

Yeah, 'cept hers are fire-burn scars and not.... acid-burns? I think that's how Two Face got them... depends on the series, I guess. And Hanako doesn't have the pulled back lip.

Oh no, you're not to blame at all. Have fun on the walk. I just hope you have some form of protection on you... preferably some protection that involves chemical components that burn like fuck. Or the electrical kind~

I finally made a signature! It took me HOURS to make this, I should practice more.
Anyway, the name of the character in my signature is Youmu Konpaku from Touhou Project.
I saw the image and I was like "I should totally make a sig of this." and here I am, a couple of months after having such thought.
(OK, looking at the Japanese characters, I kinda feel a bit weeaboo right now.) The text is her theme's title: "Hiroari shoots a strange bird".

A sig based on my first fanfic that I've ever written. Jade Justice: Ace Attorney.

It's a sort of "prequel-spinoff" to Emiko Gale's other fanfic Clarence Wright: Ace Attorney (which I'm actually co-writing for).

Jade is the daughter of Apollo Justice and Pearl Fey in the future, and in the fanfic, she's studying law overseas in Germany to become a defense attorney.

I actually don't know where exactly Kay uses this animation in AAI2, but I found it using Henke's nifty AAI2 rom decompiler, though I love it, stealing animations is just brilliant, I wish there were big sprite versions of her doing more of it.

and my sig well only establishes my fanboy-ish ways. I really wish there were a game centered on her. >:3

I love Jasmine, but I actually dislike Ariel...But my opinion kind of changed on her and I got a bit easy on her, especially since I can identify with her a bit.

Meg is spunky and relatable and fun, and earned her happily ever after.

Did she? My memory might be fuzzy but I just recall her being rescued an absurd amount of times in that film. Hell Herc even calls her a "damsel in distress", like the only Disney movie where I've heard someone flat out called that.

Enchanted has the evil stepmother call the Prince the Damsel in Distress at the end, when she quotes over and over how this whole fairytale idea is turned around and the Princess is resucing the Prince and carries the sword and etc, etc, we get it, we get it...

I liked Meg. Mostly cause she was sarcastic. Jasmine was stuck-up - majority of the princesses in Disney want MORE which is dumb, I mean they're the freaking princess. The only step for More for them is Queen. I didn't like Ariel because... she didn't really learn anything in the movie. She wanted Eric, she was a prissy teenager who does stupid things for her first love, saw a mistake and still got what she wanted in the end. She didn't learn anything. Even her apology sounded hurried and fake.

Well if it's any consolation the original Little Mermaid Tale has a sad ending I hear where....well I think it's basically Ariel dies alone on land and the witch gets away with Eric.

Also it's not quite they want more in material wealth, it's more the 'money can't buy' kinda more they want so I don't really think it's a fair criticism.

Well it always sounded to me like what Sateen - or however you spell her name - from Moulin Rouge wanted. She wanted to be a real actress, although in that bordell she was hailed a freaking Goddess, men wanting her, women wanting to be her, dozens of people throwing money at her and worshipping the ground she walks on. And she wants to become a real actress. Come on, woman, you are a Goddess to these people, don't you think becoming an actress would be a huge step down?
Although I think that entire movie had a few things backwards...

As for the original ending of Little Mermaid, I believe it was that she didn't get the prince and turned into sea-foam. Apparently it was a very christian thing, that her becoming sea-foam was kind of like having a soul and letting that get into heaven cause she chose to sacrifice herself rather than killing the prince for not choosing to marry her.
Something like that, I dunno if someone read too much into that sea-foam thing or if Hans Christian Andersen really was like that.

Actually, in the original ending, Hans Christian Anderson wrote it so that the mermaid simply dissolved in the sea. Later, Andersen added on to the ending so that instead of ceasing to exist, she turns into a spirit, and will eventually rise into Heaven. And as far as I know, becoming sea foam is in no way a Christian thing. Do not quote me on that last part and do not bring the debate here. We do not want another flame war.

Wait did you just quote Nostalgia Critic on his opinion on Satine? (Yes, it's spelled Satine)

I still don't like Ariel, if it wasn't for Sebastion, Flounder, and Scuttle I wouldn't like the movie, but my opinion is a lot less negative because she in some ways was more open minded than others and her father was racist. And her father destroying her precious harmless items did kind of give her the right motivation to leave. And she did hesitate before she gave up her voice.

But, her love for Eric was really stupid and their relationship was shallow, Ariel ended up as a trophy wife. And she didn't fix her mistake, Eric did.
