I feel bad for Sven Kramer, Dutch Ice-skater.
He went to the inner road (whatever its called) because his coach said so in the 10 km. He was disqualified. It was the only gold medal he was missing and now he has to wait 4 years :'(

I have seen it, I feel really bad for him. He would've won by far, 5 seconds under the time of the ''number 1''. He would've won by far, that might cheer him up somewhat. At least he got gold on the 5 km.

Well I leave you with these words of wisdom because I grow weary of this banter.

Hmm? What's that, Olympics Announcer? Canada won more gold medals than any other country? Pardon? I'm afraid I didn't quite catch that? Did you say that Ireland didn't even come close to touching Canada's twenty-six medals?
Hmm...
God, I love seeing people epic fail. It never gets old.
So Antonis, what do you have to say to that?

Also: Holy crap, I'm still in shock that Canada won both the Men's and Women's Olympic Hockey finals. Talk about a successful Olympic game.

Too bad this was the Winter Olympics. Which is not as important as the Summer Olympics. But still, it was amazing when Canada won the Curling Gold medal too.

How about those Biathlons? Never seen a more awesome sport in my life!

I also expected Canada to totally pwn everyone at hockey...

Seconded.

The Olympics won't be even a little bit interesting until 2012.

I think it was an AWESOME Olympics for us Canadians. 14 gold medals (the most ever) and gold in BOTH men and women's hockey?! It was Canada USA Finland (yush, the SAME STANDINGS) for both genders too, which is pretty funny
I thought the ceremonies were pretty awesome, too. Can't wait till the next Olympics :redd:

I'm really happy for you, USA, and I'mma let you finish... but Canada has the most gold medals in a Winter Olympics of all time! FUCKING EH, CANADA!

I'm not so surprised that Canada got Gold in both Men's and Women's Hockey as I'm surprised that in both: Canada got Gold, US got Silver, and Finland got Bronze. What a creepy coincidence.

As for the Closing Ceremonies: Who the fuck chose to put fucking NICKELBACK and SIMPLE PLAN to represent Canada for the Closing Ceremonies? I loved the flying moose and sexy mounties before that, but then they RUINED it with nickelback.

So do I, what part of town are you in? (I live in Yaletown and go to KG :P) I'm loving the Winter Olympics because I'm not used to having everything focused RIGHT OUTSIDE MY HOUSE. I'm loving the excitement though! I walked to meet up with friends and I got high-fived so much i couldn't move my hand. Downtown smells like a mixture of piss, weed and beer. My shoes are literally caked with spilt beer now, it's disgusting. It was a fun past 17 days, but I'm glad it's over. Now I can go to school and sleep in peace!

Have you ever heard of Coldstream, B.C.? That's where I live! I must say, those final moments of the Men's Hockey game were amazing.

And you're right. Who was in charge of the music? Nickelback and Simple Plan, really?

Yeah, I loved having the Olympics here (I live in Marpole btw, so it's far enough so that the crowds don't bother me, but close enough for me to commute to downtown without much trouble). I was out almost every day visiting all the free venues and picking up free stuff. XD I'm normally not very patriotic, but hanging out with so many Canadians every day and seeing Olympic events everywhere I went made me love and root for my country. :edgy: I was also downtown when the men's hockey game was going on, and the anxiety/excitement was immense. Seeing the crowds storm the streets was quite the sight to see.

But yeah, like you said, I'm glad it's finally over despite how awesome it was. I'm not looking forward to what little financial surprises the news might have for us Monday evening though. XD And good luck to whoever's cleaning up the mess downtown after tonight.

As for the ceremonies, am I the only one who was bothered about how badly Furlong butchered the French language? Not exactly a very good impression for the world to see. >.< Other than that, I thought the ceremonies were handled pretty well, although I do agree some of the musician choices for the closing concert was kinda meh. I ended up really liking Marie-Mai even though I hadn't heard of her before this, so I looked her up and now I'm really getting into her music. :edgy:

I only just worked this out: these are the winter Olympics, and they're different from the normal Olympics they sometimes have. :meekins: I dunno why they did it like that, just to confuse me or something. How many different kinds of Olympics is there?

Um...two.
Summer and Winter.
Oh, and there's the Paralympics (sp?), the Olympics for those with disabilities, which usually happen a few weeks after the regular Olympics.
