I'm sorry, but it seems to me that Edward is too perfect. Perfect-looking, smart, strong, brave, a smooth talker... And of course, he's Bella's Romeo. For crying out loud, why!? Why did they not give him a singe character flaw!? And I'm not exactly fond of how she portrayed Bella either. Too high-maintenance.
I do agree, though, it had an interesting plot-line and the book just grabs your attention. I only kind of liked it, yet I couldn't put it down. And the side characters ((Alice for example)) were very well done. The author was also very descriptive; I could actually visualize most of the scenes.
Ahaha, I feel like a movie critic or something. XD

I once thought it'd be better than it's book counterpart (in a rare break from the usual and should-be rule of book always pwns movie), but when I saw the scene where Bella is almost eradicated (and, much to my chagrin, makes it.), and I saw them using sound effects I hear in crappy Kingdom Hearts comedy AMVs, I lost all hope.

Guess what? YOU JUST DID.
Meyer is a untalented author. I heard how 'amazing' and 'original' the series was. So, I picked up Twilight at the library. I should have known it was going to be bad just from looking at the cover. Two paled hands holding a bright red apple? Cliche much?
And, I read the first half. We have Bella. (BEAUTIFUL SWAN) who, thinks she isn't pretty. Oh, and she is clumsy too, but, obviously doesn't matter.
As a new person to a new town, she is pretty nervous staring off school. And, of course, everyone is absolutely and madly smitten with this new girl, like she is some alien amazing mystic being.
However, 70% of the book is just Bella obsessing over Edward, trapped in a obsessive relationship. Over how beautiful and talented he is. Perfect skin, hair, eyes, breath,scent,voice. Its a little creepy when she gets a whiff of his minty fresh breath her mouth is literally watering.
But, Edward stalks her. Watches her sleep at night too. Wow. A bit creepy. He keeps telling her how DANGEROUS he is, but, is obviously in love with perfect innocent Bella.
Typically your not supposed to want to kill the two main characters do you? I hated this book. It was insanely overrated. Cliche plot, and Mary Sue main characters.

My reaction to it is much like my reaction to Harry Potter in some ways. At first, I went all fangirl over it, then I read the next two books, threatened to kill Stephenie Meyer at least twice, and my interest kinda waned. Then I read Twilight again, went semi-fangirl, and now...
Well, let's just say I'm going to read Breaking Dawn and I'm going to see the movie.
I do agree that Edward is too perfect.
And I am a bit scared for Breaking Dawn as well. *read: first chapter of BD= ONG I GOTT A NOO CAR AND A NOO CREDUT CARD STOP STRING AT ME*
But I do appreciate books that I literally can't put down.
And...I liked the Host. That was a good book, I think. Interesting premise, a little bit "Feed"-esque (although that book put me in a deep depression for several days).
So...I suppose I love them while I'm reading them, and afterwards, interest wanes.
