Because I have not much else to do.

The silence of my sister still asleep past noon
broken by the soft tapping of
my mother's fingers on the keyboard

The soft buzz of the microwave cooking burritos
overpowered by the roaring of a buzzsaw
in my neighbor's back yard

The whistful whisper of the cooler
ignored by headphones blasting
the most brash of music

These, my friends, are the sounds of summer.

On her visit to the freighter
She went oh and ah and oo
Her husband was away at the time
On a business trip to Peru
She got lots of information
And much kindness of the crew
For instance, the second engineer
Gave her a nautical screw

when he told the drowing child to wait a sec
and when they pulled it out (berry blue),
he drove in an ambulance, too.

Poetry is not my forte, (I prefer literature) but I'll give this a shot.

Practice makes perfect
So shut up and make perfect
Don't be a loser

(Yes, I know I can be cold sometimes. But this is the truth really.)

This is the shortest poem I have saved on my computer, so let me give this a try.

Spoiler: Revision
Meanings change,
They’re never too late,
Always with the times,
Never doomed to fate.
Some may never change,
But many may never stay,
And the answer to this,
Is what we don’t know today.

Writing, writing like an idiot
Without commas or periods
With a five year old's innocence
I write poetry without common sense

(Not bad from someone who never wrote poetry! I'm proud of this work!)

Laughing and flying, living not crying.
Once you've gone goofy it's never the same.
Life in the Derp lane is not how it seems.
It's funny and silly and peachy and keen.

Derpy Hooves.
The best pony of all
And she's, always, going to stay.

Derpy Hooves
Not just in the background
And she's, never, gonna go away.

Don't stop for nothing, it's full speed for muffin.
I'm knocking down, you know, anypony in my way.
Bringing them mail and dropping it down.
Spreading my love all over the town!

Derpy Hooves!
The best pony of all!
And she's, always, going to stay.

Derpy Hooves!
Not just in the background.
And she's, never, gonna go away.

Those people that tell you she's not the best pone.
They are all liars and should get the hell out.
She's at the top, this time she won't fall.
So hail Queen Derpy, free muffins for all!

(insert chorus here)

Also, anybody who knows what song this is based on is awesome. (just for today)

These are awesome! ^ ^
I'm not exactly experienced at poems, but here goes:

I took a step, and then another.
Up and up I go.
And-What?! My sis?! Oh man, oh brother!
She shakes it to and fro.

"What are you doing?" the murderer asks
She's going to make me fall!
I'm not any stronger than a flask!
"This ladder won't hold up at all!"

"Stop it!" I said with a booming voice
"What the hell's wrong with you?!"
She simply smiled at my word choice
And let the death ensue

When they questioned her, for what she did
When they asked about the matter
She finally showed the reason she hid:
"He wouldn't call it a step-ladder..."

I know it kind of references PW, but it's the only thing I could think of :P

Spring fever is an illness with no ailment
The perfect warm weather awakes me fully
I feel like walking outside bare-footed for hours

And strangely, I feel no negative emotion.
I am reminded of the beautiful memories that I once pushed away.
And I think of the one I am most crazy about, who I thought I removed from my heart.

Even if I am alone,
and I still wish someone was by my side,
I have hope, and I know that I am not truly alone.

At night the gentle breeze that comes from my window comforts me.
It fills my house with smiles and peace.
This type of weather is my paradise.

It's like stepping into a golden field.
Beautiful in all directions, but no direction to go.
It's like throwing a stone at a star;
Never touching it, it's always too low.

You aimlessly crawl through this golden field,
but futility is constantly chewing on your mind
You try to escape by shutting it out
yet darkness is all you will find.

When you call for help your words will echo
In the emptiness we know too well.
When you try to fly like your angel
You will only sink slowly back into hell.

This poem is...depressing.

Oh how crack pairings attract me more than canon,
Currently it is Klavier/Franziska that has me obsessed.
Klavier/Franziska is love.
Klavier/Franziska is friendship.
Klavier/Franziska is courtroom awesomeness.
Klavier/Franziska should be bloody canon.

Oh! Let the verdict be read out!
At last, no more can be concealed.
We know what this was all about.
At last, the truth has been revealed,
For Wright has seen through every lie.
No innocent shall ever die
As long as Phoenix Wright defends.
The trial was long, but now it ends.
But don't ignore the other man,
The one who let the truth be heard.
For Edgeworth, when his worries stirred,
Chose not to let this falsehood stand.
The lies and schemes of Gant have failed.
As always, justice has prevailed.

I'll always love you, Max.

*bumps up thread*

This is a poem I made the day before I quit my old job. It probably sucks but i just found it in my old pc files, so...

A creaky old place in the middle of town
Or a house made for slaughter
Where man and machine converged so intensely,
They almost became one another.

Birds with clipped wings who do not fly
See their future through the glass
As they foolishly try to pretend,
They were made to walk on grass.

Wasted lives conformate
With a life with no prospect
While they say that "it's all right!"
They contradict in retrospect.

Confidence, honor and integrity
Are not fit to run this place
All they ever will see,
Is a false sense of security and solace.

How the young fool's trust is betrayed
Behind his very sights
How the mind is tricking him,
Into wasting his nights.

Seducing with the siren call of financial satisfaction
An army, they would build
A place where "slavery" was a rather strong word!
Let's just call it a "labor guild".

It seemed perfect, a method no other could evade
For a while, it shall prevail
But how long would it take to fall apart?
Because every plan is prone to fail.

Not many time has passed
The needs for growth called
So another human being they would search,
And another "offer" stood scrawled.

But what they did not know
Was that some men have fierce determination
The boy said "no",
And saved an entire nation.

Days like these make me think that music is my only friend.
Music understands me and I can relate to it.
When nonescense becomes to loud I put on earphones,
and drown it out with music.

The only colors in a world full of darkness,
As I cry alone and no one can help me.
Music helps me when I can no longer understand.

But now I have been blessed.
Because someone else has became my song that I sing in the morning.
The song I sing with passion and pride,
gives me hope.
For when my world no longer made sense,
you found me,
And rocked my world. <3

Edit: This is my failed attempted to make the quote in my sig a full blown poem.

Heart of a Star

So warm, no matter how cold.
Could this be, the city of gold?
This is the place the prophet told.
Love I seek, I forget your name.
Gave my life, without a gain.
Who am I, to cast the blame?
I died for joy that does not start.
Could not stand our time apart.
Burning stars within our hearts.
Truth I speak, and I'm loving you.
Small star once, but then it grew.
Could the prophet not been true?
Is this the place, where you lay?
We're apart, the gold is gray.
Know this love will forever stay.
Paradise is gray, and I'm alone.
In this land, of love unknown.
But no doubt has ever grown.
Could it be, you were lost to sin?
Gray king begins to grin.
Reaper of justless men.
"Please!" I scream, he casts away.
"Trust these words I have to say,
Seek her at the end of days."
Burning pain takes my mind.
Where's the joy I came to find?
Frayed ends begin to wind.

There she sits, in heaven's land.
His hourglass is out of sand.
She closes her eyes and awaits his hand.

This is not a "poem" per se but I wrote this when I was 14 and had ambitions of being a rapper (yeah right), it's called "When Hell Froze Over".

Spoiler: space saver
Heaven didn't listen to my raging call
Tired of standing beneath it all
So many times, the same shit over and over again
Stuck on replay, repeat, repeat, repeat with the pain
I ain't gonna get mad no more
I don't kick my doorstep anymore
Don't wanna start punching my closet again
My PC has nothing to do with seeing red
But I still feel hurt, even if not angry or mad
And I'm also sick of feeling sad
The wounded man, dead man walking
Take cover 'cause he is coming
And he feels nothing but cold cruelty
No rage, no depression, just revenge, so bitterly
Calculating and watching over you
Making sure you don't know what he's about to do
So if you thought that the fires of a rampage were the end
Or that his tears would be the end
Be prepared, run away, take cover
This time, Hell froze over

And there's nowhere to run now
The machine is coming after you
Get a gun, get a sword, get a bow
Take whatever weapon you can reach to
But you're not able to hurt him now
Hell froze over, oh no

He's been cheated before
He's been beaten before
He's suffered before
He's been hurting way before
And all this time he was lacking flair
Either deadly anger or hopeless despair
But life is a bitch, ain't it bitch?
What doesn't kill you makes you more strong
Comes the time in which
You get tired of emotions, 'cause they're so wrong
Unhealthy is the cold heart of a wounded man
He gets used to it, resistant, an iron man
The powerhouse of pain, get ready to face the war
Civil war? Like hell, his is a World War III from afar
And there ain't no help, no Rambo, no Danny Glover
When Hell freezes over

And there's nowhere to run now
The machine is coming after you
Get a gun, get a sword, get a bow
Take whatever weapon you can reach to
But you're not able to hurt him now
Hell froze over, oh no

Cut your hand smiling
Bite your nose while you're crying
Laughing at your silly attempts to say sorry
Feeding off your fear, your pain is his glory
And the funny thing is he really doesn't care anymore
It's not a front, I repeat, he does not care anymore
Why get mad for the same thing all the time?
It's time to change the strategy, rewrite the line
1-2-1-2, 4-3-3, 3-5-2
DM, WBR, F-U-C-K you!
Put that brain to good use
And avoid this kind of ruse
Wanna pick a fight?
Find someone else or you're set for the night
This defying of nature, how can that be?
They always thought fire was as hot as can be
But you did it, you made it, it's over
Congratulations, you made Hell freeze over.

And there's nowhere to run now
The machine is coming after you
Get a gun, get a sword, get a bow
Take whatever weapon you can reach to
But you're not able to hurt him now
Hell froze over, oh no
