I just had one last Saturday.

http://desucon.fi/blogi

This summer's first anime- and mangacon called Desucon was held in Lahti, Finland.

I was there, with my sisters.

Just guess who we got to meat :keiko:

!!TOORU FURUYA!!

Spoiler: For those who don't know who he is ^^
Tooru Furuya is a veteran seiyuu (Japanese voice-actor). He has for example played Amuro from Mobile Suit Gundam, Seiya from Saint Seiya, Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon etc. (We are his biggest fans from Finland :D)

For more info: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=1105

Here he is giving signatures. (I'm the boy in the green shirt 0_0)

Left to right: Katsuaki Ikeda, Tooru Furuya, Kiyokazu Fujimoto and Kunihiko Yasuda.
(Desucon's guests of honor + secretary of legation.)

Anyone?

Haha, I got a dream retroactively come true. =p

Back before I got to be such a rabid anime fan as I am today (during, if memory serves, summer of 1994), I got to meet Kouichi Tsunoda, chief animator back then of Toei Animation, in a conference where he was a guest of honor in a presentation of the Japanese culture in my country. Back then I couldn't really appreciate it as much as I do now, but I DO appreciate the absolutely timeless memento I got from that time -- his fucking autographed business card. =D

I'll post pics of it tomorrow once I can coerce my lil' sis into getting the camera for me. XD

THAT IS LOLWORTHY WIN.

Anyway, I got to meet Jeff Lindsay around this time last year. I got his autograph. He also made an awesome joke about one of my questions, at which point I thought "Ok. I can die happy now."

I met The League of Gentlemen when I was 19. I was so happy but so nervous, I nearly threw up on Reece.

My mum was a news reporter in the past!
It was pretty funny when she got recognised by one of the waitresses in a restaurant.

Well there was that one time, two years ago, I won 500 bucks on the internet, it was one of those pop-ups that say you've won something, I jokingly clicked it and entered my name, but I put my friend's address (what? I didn't want some weird person coming to my house or something, besides my friend's dad is a cop, he could handle them =P). Long story short two weeks later I got a phone call from my friend saying he got an envelope in the mail with my name on it, he brought it over, and sure enough it was a check for 500 dollars, I cashed the check the next day and it was legit. Not so much of a 'dream come true' as surreal moment.

Oh how I envy you! That must have been great!

Random observation, but the poster in the background on the first picture looks like Chii from Chobits. Infact, I'm almost sure that is! How cute.

And at long last, because my sister couldn't find the camera, here's the promised picture:

And yes, it's this very same Koichi Tsunoda. <3

Add to that this recent purchase of mine...

...and I'm technically one of the happiest men alive right now.

Well I was in town once and me and my friend were in New look, we saw a guy and were like..."He looks FAMILIAR." So we followed him for a while, and finnaly hit us that it was HUGH DENNIS. But neither of us could get up the courage to ask for an autograph, even though we had paper ready and such, so we ended up stalking him for about 1/4 of a mile down the high street ((LOL)) until I finally blurted "EXCUSE ME" and asked for the autograph, which is now stuck on my wall.

I LOVE Hugh. He's so funny, and i'm a sucker for comedy quiz shows and Outnumbered. ^^

...It's a british thing. :gregory:

None of my friends are even remotely interested in Anime, games or Japanese culture, so when I went to my first Anime Con and met people like me, I was overjoyed. :D
