Quote:
The severely-injured woman, who was not named, told police her husband had arrived home drunk and started to harass her and their daughter for spending too much money while shopping. He then tried to kill her by dousing her with gas and lighting her on fire.

The woman survived because her daughter and a neighbor immediately took her to a nearby hospital.

Not that I've ever drunk before, but I heard from first-case drinkers that the effects of much consumed alcohol will bring up your inhibitions, which is what makes you act out. It brings that inner person out, it's not a demon which possesses you to do the wrong thing.

The guy must've always thought that his wife did spend too much money, which in turn created quite the fiery rage (pun intended) inside him. If he was THAT drunk, then he's much less likely to take the highroad when confronting that issue in that state. The wife probably was spending too much, and the husband must've surpressed his urge to confront her about it.

I'm sure alcohol isn't solely to blame for this. The guy had to let out his woes, this was just a bad way to do it.

Feel free to quote and say how I suck for having no knowledge on the subject. I'll even colour the phrase for you to quote.

Yikes! Poor woman! Being burned is not pleasant. Drinking alcohol is fine, if you know your limits and don't cross it.

almost a bad as the death dragon..

sorry.im a bit hype right now.wierd sense of humor.apologies.

they're gonna be traumatised for quite a while, and the chances are that they are never gonna want to drink again.
this is quite a wwake up call to alcoholics though, and we can hope that it makes them at least cut down, for the sake of their families etc.

Gosh, this is terrible. I hope his wife (and daughter) recover from this.

I can't legally drink yet...guess this will just put me off a little bit more.

To be the Devil's Advocate, we don't know how much she spent.

I might like to burn my wife to death if she had a shopaholic spree and spent EVERYTHING (including selling my property for cash) :zenitora:

But I don't drink so I'd probably have more self control than this guy....go punch a few belongings I don't have because they got sold, work out my anger on her belongings instead.

I sniffed some whiskey once and I had the sudden urge to set my dog on fire. I'm so not touching that shit again, it makes you pyromaniac.

Alcohol does shut down higher brain functions and ability to cope with emotions but I think many would be immune to that effect, considering.

No good sir it doesn't!

I understand recently in the other thread of 'dramatic news' about the baby eating momma someone said "It could only happen in America" something which I think Regy and others took slight offense to.

:object: Hah! See I understand! Though really he shouldn't have brought himself down to the level of folk who blame whole countries even as a joke.

My policy is to at least TRY each new drink someone reccommends or peer pressures strongly.

That way no one can use the "How can you not like it if you've never tried it" argument on me :yuusaku:

Most of it still sucks the only alcoholic drink I like is Dutch Advocate....HEAVILY diluted with lemonade.
