I always end up liking the "weakling". Any group in a book, I'm going to like the one that doesn't have quite as much to give and usually gets killed.

BUT if I have two favorite characters, one gets killed and the other goes evil.

Inheritance Cycle (yeah I know)

Brom gets his butt killed, Murtagh is kidnapped and ends up going evil.


TWEWY (not a book but whatever)

Rhyme got herself killed (I think) and Beat goes to the Reapers...

I know how you all feel. Pretty much, no matter whether it's a book, TV show, or whatever, my favorite character dies. Which might have something to do with the fact that I tend to like the evil ones... but for me, even the non-evil ones tend to die. One of the few exceptions is Franziska...

I was really scared when she got shot in Trials and Tribulations. Amazing, and unprecedentedly, she survived.

Alice. She got a cinder-block to the face and there were chapters detailing the last few hours of her life. The sucky part is, the was the best character in the group, in my opinion. She was smart and could kick ass at the same time.

I got attached to the entire wolf pack in the beginning and they all died one by one. And most of the deaths were pretty gruesome. And I got attached to Larka and really didn't think she was going to die. But she did :sadshoe:

You know, at first I even thought that it was like, a joke. Seriously I thought 'Ah, he doesn't die, he'll probably get resurrected next ep.' and when after 3 eps he still was dead, I swore off Death Note.

Dosen't always happen for me. Sometimes I get lucky.
It was the third book when I had a feeling Snape was going to get killed in the series. He became one of my favorite characters and I didn't want him to die but he did in the 7. And in Battle Royale, out of all of the deaths, Mitsuko Souma's did it for me. I felt bad for her.

I just thought his dead wasn't completely worthy of his character. I mean, his last words are "Get the Shinigami"? Please. He should have said something like "I knew it" when Light smiles, but just for the two of them to listen. The rest is OK.
Personally, I loved that episode, but, since it was the latest episode I saw (we are that late here in Latin America), I'll have to wait 'til this Wednesday to know if it's worthy to keep watching it.

I swore off HP after Goblet of Fire for the very reason you guys suggested. I wasn't getting anywhere in Order of the Phoenix, so I basically told my friend (who was REALLY into the HP books) to tell me who died, and when he said

I swore off the books. I was getting really tired of all the death and destruction, which really DIDN'T happen in the first 3 books, but JK Rowling wanted to either shock people or make people keep reading or whatever, and that really irked me that JK Rowling had the gumption to kill off as many characters as she did.

L's death of course, just as he realised he was right about Light. And then, Mello's death as well, only one panel in the manga, and the way Light becomes so damn helpless in the end and dies, and how could I forget Soichiro's death? That had me really crying.
