It's a lot easier to believe they were wrong when they thought it could withstand a plane. Perhaps a small one, but not a fucking 767.

And it's even easier to believe that you're just wrong.

that's nice, i don't care about your opinion. it's easy to believe anyone's wrong. if you don't have facts, don't post, ultimate prosecutor has already stated everything in your post.

If you don't care about my opinion (which is the same as everyone else's, by the way), what makes you think we should care about yours? Your baseless conjecture hardly counts as evidence at all.

RANDOM SIDE NOTE:

The actual attack happened on my (older) sister's 18th birthday. To top it off, it was toward the beginning of a series of hospital trips resulting in the removal of her spleen. Needless to say, it was her worst birthday ever.

Also, the rockets would be awesome but impractical.

Just like how people thought the Titanic was the most invincible ship in the world. Isn't it funny when people are wrong?

but the titanic was not specifically built to sustain skidding an iceberg. the parts used to build the ship were of low quality and many compartments flooded quickly. stating that it was "the most invincible ship" was an overstatement fed to the public to make money, whereas the WTC tower engineers specifically designed the towers to take hits from planes, and did not use it as a means to make money.

Did they REALLY think that a plane would crash into it? I doubt anyone considered that before 9/11... :yuusaku:

So like, all lulz and flame wars aside, I thought I'd give some contribution to this thread.

Spoiler: Putting under spoiler tag cuz of depressing TL;DR
I remember when 9/11 happened like it was only yesterday.
I live in Staten Island, NY, one of the five boroughs, which is just a 25 min ferry ride away from Manhattan.
I was in 12 years old, just a few weeks into starting 7th grade. Then BAM! Around 10:00, the classroom phone rings, asking for one of the students in my class to pack her things for her parents had come to pick her up.
Then a few minutes later, the phone rang again, asking for another student to pack his things to get picked up. Time passed as 5 more students had to pack their things and leave.
The few of us students remaining were wondering what was going on, and were excited at the same time that we got to leave school. Rumors spread that someone dropped a bomb on either the Twin Towers or the Empire State Building.
Another rumor spread that bombs were being dropped on school buildings, and we were afraid our school was going to get bombed or some shit.

By the second to last period of class, I was one of the last remaining students to be picked up. I was scared shitless that something happened to my parents, or at least my dad. Finally, the phone rang telling me that my mom was here to take me home.

I asked my mom what happened and the first thing she said was "The Twin Towers are gone. COMPLETELY GONE. There's nothing left."
I was worried that something happened to my dad, because he was working as an FDNY Captain at the time.

My dad got lucky. He used to be stationed at a firehouse in Brooklyn, but was then transfered to a firehouse in Staten Island after he became Captain.
Sadly though, we found out that the very Brooklyn firehouse he transfered from, most of the men were killed in 9/11. He lost a lot of his good friends/co-workers he knew. :(
The Staten Island firehouse he was in, they were only ordered to find body remains at the Ground Zero site. My dad retired a few months later because he got injured on the job with a herniated disc.

But yeah, it was kinda scary that day.
Sad too, because I actually visited the Twin Towers two years before with my sister. Went to the very top of one of the towers and everything. :(

What was even creepier, was that you still saw smoke where the WTC once was in the Manhattan skyline a week later.

What the hell guys, at least try to have an educated opinion. Threads like these make me feel really sad about the state of our schools. Wikipedia may not be the most reliable source of information but at least it’s free, out there and available for you to use so you don’t look like a total fool when posting on this sort of stuff. If you feel more inclined, there actually are college classes on the subject of the sociology and philosophy of conspiracies you can take.

I’m not a structural engineer, and neither are you, and nor are the tin-foil hat wearing whack jobs that feel inclined to spread their bullshit conspiracy memes. But having a little common sense, general knowledge and a little research is more than enough to conclude that 9/11 was not some convoluted inside job.

Instead of wasting my time writing a massive TLDR post as I usually do I’m gonna try to be a bit more concise on this topic, L_J, on some of your “points”:

- An airplane smashing into a building does not leave an airplane-shaped hole. The things are made mostly of aluminum and composite (plastics) materials. The physics involved are quite devastating. When fueled they’re essentially giant flying petrol bombs.

- Actually read reports about WTC7 (not just the conspiracy ones) before you come to a conclusion. Various independent studies and engineer societies have come to the same conclusions regarding the collapse of the WTC structures. If the US government has the power and influence to silence all these people than holy shit, they could be doing a ton more “influential” things. Most conspiracy theorists have no academic accreditation.

- Just because something is “designed” to do something doesn’t mean it necessary will perform as intended. If a stamp of approval is all it takes to make things foolproof than we could solve ourselves a lot of problems. And for the record, the Twin Towers architect specifically said the structure was designed to withstand the impact of a 707. The 707 is a smaller plane and nowhere in the original interview is the mentioning of the towers being “designed” to withstand the resulting inferno from being hit by a plane. “Impact proof” maybe, but massive conflagration, maybe not.

- Iraq was a disaster in itself. The bush administration doesn’t need a conspiracy theory to fuck things up with. Cheney and the other warmongers do it legit.

Just note that most conspiracy theorists have an obvious anti-establishment agenda they’re trying to spread. Instead of doing something constructive to incite the change they want they spend their time shitting out uneducated opinions. They’re really good with preying on the ignorant.

Now that that's out of the way, end this mofuckin' thread

Because seriously I just

I never get over how stupid these things turn out yet here I am re-reading this and wondering "how".

Like I said earlier, idiots don't deserve to be debated with, there's nothing left to say in here. 9/11 anniversary is over, move on to some other thread to dong around in.
