Now that the Oakland Press has found it neccesary to write a one sided story, I'll fill in the missing details. Yes a son was given up for adoption, yes He found her on the internet, or actually they found each other. They met with the permission of the adopted parents, and were able to spend time together to allow him to meet his siblings. This boy was 15 at the time and had emotional problems, had been in trouble with the law and threatened his adoptive parents, also diagnosed as being bipolar. This should have been a sign to proceed with caution. The Oakland press reports as if she tracked him down for sex, which is ludicrous. This was meetings and visits that spanned over a summer to reconnect a family. When things didn't go his way threats were made. Well now those threats have come to light. There are other children to be considered here, that love their mother very much. Before people judge her, lets get the facts. Our court system is innocent until proven guilty!!!!! When the truth comes out I hope the Oakland press will report the truth with accuracy. We all feel for the boy, but putting an innocent woman through this is unjust. He needs serious help.

Who lied and said a sexual assault happened then? I'm talking about the current mother-son incest sexual assualt claim story.

looks like the news report didn't say, because it might put the mother in a better light, or at least create reasonable doubt.

When we are talking about child sexual abuse we generally don't try to put the accused in a decent light. Perhaps Law Enforcement is withholding that information until the trial now that I think about it.

good point. it's probably a better idea to withhold the information until the trial, but i'd like to have a decent amount of facts at the very least.

and besides, even if there are facts that put the accused in a better light, the media will almost certainly not report them, that's how they get money.

also, the report is written as if she is already guilty, a majority of the people who read the report won't care about what happens in the trial. even if she is innocent, and proven so, people will have the impression that she is the only who raped her son.

The only way the facts matter for the accused in a sexual abuse of child story is if it proves the accused is not connected to the crime.

If the woman is found innocent then she has that right to be considered innocent but must convince the community she is innocent because parents need to question some accused sex offenders that are found not guilty.

that's unlikely. some people don't let go of impressions like this, in the back of their mind, no matter what you say or prove, it will remain. depending on the people who you communicate with, it can be devastating.

If this woman is innocent, I feel extremely sorry for her; even if she's acquitted, people will forever think of her as the mother who had sex with her son.

"When you're accused, it's on page 1 of the newspaper. When you're acquitted, it's on page 6." I forget who said that, but there's a lot of truth to it unless you're a huge celebrity.

And, innocent or guilty, I imagine people will never look at the son the same way again, so he's also deserving of pity.

I mean, the way the article's saying it, they're making it seem like the woman went out of her way to track down her son on the internet just to have sex with him.
