...
I love you, Daddy.

I tried to be a vegetarian once, but I kinda got sick. I don't like nuts or anything else that gives me protein without meat, and I eat excessive amounts of meat normally, so my body went crazy on me n.n;
Plus, my mom was NOT supportive.

I'm bumping this, I won't let this topic die.

So I guess I'll post some recipes:

http://vegandad.blogspot.com/2008/10/ch ... -cake.html

http://vegandad.blogspot.com/2009/02/cr ... cakes.html

http://vegandad.blogspot.com/2009/10/pu ... bread.html

http://veganverve.wordpress.com/2008/07 ... revisited/

Out of all of these, I've only made the Crispy Cajun Chickpea Cakes (which were DELICIOUS), but they all look really good.

Anybody else have any recipes?

For fuck's sake, if you're not going to try, then shut the fuck up and get the hell out. If reading is such a damn challenge, what are you doing in a place where almost all of the content is text? And quit pulling the "oh poor me I eat meat and every person who's a vegetarian is trying to convert me" card. It's annoying and we keep telling you that's not what we're doing.
It's surprisingly easy to be unhealthy as a vegetarian. It's not just what you eat, it's how much as well. Salad is great, but if you're eating a salad where the toppings are ranch dressing, croutons and cheddar cheese and there's more topping than salad, you should probably take a look at your diet. As for cheese pizza, it still has a ton of grease. Eating a lot of it every day is not going to help you. I don't eat a lot of meat, pizza or fried things simply because having so much grease at once makes me sick. I can't eat more than one fast food meal every couple of days, or my intestines revolt. And when I eat meat, it's almost always something very lean; I honestly don't like the taste of fat in my steaks and it makes me sick anyway.

Though Yara, stop acting so pathetic. Give people respect, including yourself, and you'll be respected back.

By the way, I'm a vegetarian and those chickpea cakes look delish!

SECONDED!!!.

@All vegetarians here.

Would you eat the steak if you knew the cow died a natural death and wasn't slaughtered? that way no animal gets hurt your just making the best of a wasted animal.

Well it could be that the island is very small and has no plants growing on it but plenty of fish live around the island.

THIS. Please Yaragorm. You're just making yourself look like a complete tit.

I would honestly rather die than eat meat again. That's not because I'm stupid, I just don't think I could physically stomach meat anymore. And I've not even been veggie a whole year yet!!

The smell of roast chicken still gives me a hard on though.

Any person that's been veggie for too long would probably have to choose death. After you've stopped eating meat for a long time, your body stops making the enzymes to digest it, meaning that you would get sick from eating it.

Hahahahahaha no.

Yes you might have difficulty eating it while your digestive system readjusts and you might even feel a bit sick. But you could survive, and after a day or two you wouldn't feel sick at all.

Hey, one of my sisters came back from the doctor's and my dad says she's allergic to all meat products along with wheat, gluten, and flour.

So guys, know any delicious food without those?

I wasn't finished yet, heh.

Here are some Gluten-Free recipes.

Some include meat, but just don't use those recipes. The flour used it predominately wheat-free flours, considering it has gluten in it.

Ah, my mom has that problem too. She can't eat anything with wheat or gluten. Well, she's not supposed to, but she does anyway, which really makes me worry for her. She's just so picky with the food because she thinks it's disgusting or doesn't taste the same as to what she's used to. So, thanks for the recipes link, hopefully I can try to convince her to go back to her gluten free diet.

My sister is autistic and it was discovered that some protein enzyme thing in meat and meat products is making it worse...

Don't know how she's allergic to wheat and gluten though.

And thanks again for those wonderful recipes! My sister would be very happy!

Can not say I'm a strict vegetarian which means I'm not one at all, closer to pescetarian. I do not rant and rave about other peoples choices, other than point out how disgusting certain food is, like Maryland Chicken.... but saying that, I do have a huge issue other people eating chicken near me.

That's another thing about vegetarians, they say that they don't force their opinion on anyone, but they pulverize you and steal your wallet everytime you take out a turkey sandwich. :edgeworth:

Generalize much? I've never seen this happen, is it a regional thing where you come from? I would say if people are stealing your wallet, it might be more than about the turkey sandwich... and DANG pre-packed sandwiches are expensive.

I do know a few pure vegetarians who can be a bit nazi like but saying that I think the same for all people who end up around someone who does not share the same eating habits.

That person eats more than me, they must be FAT!
That one eats too little! SKINNY COW!
They eat mostly chocolate and sweets, they need more fruit.
They eat too much fruit and nuts, what a health freak
They eat too much meat, that is bad, eat some veggies
They eat veggies, eat meat you freak!

People are so condemning over eating habits. Some get really defensive too, a friend of mine will start saying they eat meat because it is cheap and they do not like this veggie that veggie etc etc, almost like their are in confession just because a vegetarian sat next to them. Why? What is the big problem in general over your food choice?

This is not going into the whole ethical debates.

I just really do not understand all the mocking, laughing and name calling. I've played online games with less trash-talk going on by 14 year olds ankle biters than a Veggie debate.

Vegetarians are like snowflakes. No two vegetarians are the same.

Unless they're in PETA. Because everybody knows that PETA is an organization run by robots.
