This is basically a variation of "What are your snackoos" in that instead of snacks, this is about meals. So feel free to post about your favorite meals, meals you just had, and interesting situations regarding meals. I just had, for dinner, sinigang na baka with kangkong leaves and daing na bangus. Sinigang is a kind of soup wherein you mix sour flavoring, such as tamarind, and add vegetables and a main type of meat, this time being beef, but I didn't eat the beef. Daing is a style of cooking wherein you cut the fish in the middle and cook both sides, still attached to each other. Bangus is milkfish. This isn't a very good explanation, it's better to actually see and eat it for yourself. |

Why does anyone care about what other people have to eat? |

antonis wrote: Why does anyone care about what other people have to eat? Well, there are many personalities in CR that have many different likes and dislikes, such as food. Also, many people in CR are from different countries, so you can learn about diffferent interntional foods. It's learning experience as well as fun. Oh, and for breakfast I just had cold Milo (a chocolate drink) and chocolate spread on pandesal, which is a kind of bread that looks like a bun. |

Well, I like talking about food Today I had Chinese take-out. I don't care for it too much, but I eat it. Umm, it was fried rice, beef/broccoli, lemon chicken, fried rice noodles, and crab rangoon. I didn't eat all of that, mind you DX I like making my own food better. |

Ugh. I'm Chinese and I hate Chinese food only because whenever I get dinner, it's always Chinese food. Granted some of it is good but after 15 years of it, you kinda lose interest in it.... So I had some today and it didn't taste all that good but oh well... |

Wow, a topic about food... :] Well, my favorite food is actually anything with chicken. I like fried chicken, roast chicken, chicken soup, chicken sub sandwiches, etc. Though I'm not too keen on chicken nuggets and chicken popcorn. Usually if I eat chicken, I eat it with a LOT of gravy. Yum. I also like healthy food, particularly Japanese food. I like miso soup and tuna sashimi and shrimp tempura with a side dish of bean sprouts and vegetables. I also like grilled squid and octopus, if there's any available. Of course a lot of my favorites are from native cuisine. I like daing na bangus (milkfish with garlic) and sinampalukan (sour tamarind soup with chicken and tamarind leaves) and kare-kare (banana heart curry with peanut sauce). Plus there's isaw-- tasty meat skewers (OHH YEAH), which is something our university is famous for, too. I'd add more, but I guess a lot of folks here can't relate to that... As for drinks, I like lemonade, green mango shakes and mango smoothies, chocolate milkshakes, green tea, and coffee (though I don't drink much anymore). As for alcoholic drinks... beer, gin, and vodka. Wow, posting in this topic made me feel a lot better. :D |

@silentxfilmstar: If you like your own food better, then you must be a good cook! @Yaragorm: Sad. So you're saying that if you didn't eat Chinese food almost every day, you'd actually appreciate it, right? @LightningfistCal: Yay, Japanese food! Yay, Filipino food! Yay, UP food! :)) |
