i worked at a horse riding school and had to get up at 5 am every morning, break the ice on top of the horses water troughs, feed and then groom the horses.

as the riding school catered for school camps, every day i would ride the lead horse on a set path through creeks and hills with five to ten 'follower horses' behind carrying school kids.

to make sure the follower horses did nothing but follow, each was fed a blue pill every morning.

no matter what the kids did - kick, hit, fall off, the horse would just follow.

because the job was so repetitive, i used to lick the blue pills before giving them to the horses.

apparently i worked there for over a year but i don't remember any of it.

The customer is always right.
Fucking Walmart is a bunch of customer service Nazis. Someone comes in all bitchy and cranky, and all I have to do is say hello and they go off on me. Then, they go complain. Guess who gets in trouble for 'being rude'?
Exactly.
I do like my job, though, it's freaking easy. No thought involved in running objects across a scanner and tossing them in bags.
Besides, it's funny to see people try to use the self-checkouts when they're hardly as smart as the metal they use to make the bag holders.

I used to work at Wendy's in the food court mall.

Ugh, it was horrible. I was on my legs the whole day, dealing with stereotypical Americans who couldn't understand the concept of "Shit happens", please wait five freaking minutes.

But the job was easy. After I figured out how to do it, I could just be on autopilot the whole day.

Ooh, I worked at Wendy's once. The managers hated me for some reason and everyone treated me like crap.
Hence that I'm at Walmart now; they CAN'T treat a cashier who knows what she's doing like crap because they NEED cashiers. n.n

I was a cashier as well.

I was actually the employee who stayed there the longest (I was there on opening day, and I held the job for about two and a half years).

Bad news is, I think the place is closed, so I'm out of a winter job.

I never got to touch the register. They made me do fries and sandwiches, both of which I wasn't good at because people would distract me and fat people came through ALL the time and ate a fuckton of fries.
I'm amazing at register at Walmart, so I think Wendy's should have had me on register >>;

Being a video game tester is a REALLY shitty job. You mainly just make sure the game won't break if you run into a wall.

I had a job once

I did some office work and helped with lunch for this IB conference. it was pretty irregular, every couple of months, I'd work for a week but I'd get paid a lot.

the old people there loved me, they gave me some weird nickname like "sunshine" or "sparkles" and they always gave me gifts for my work.

I had two bosses, one was the one that hired me and was in charge of all of the youth working there and the other one was a royal bitch and hated me (and a bunch of others who worked there, mostly boys). She constantly yelled at me for being "too cheerful" and being a distraction to the people who went there. When I tried to act less cheerful and more strictly professional, the people would complain and then she'd yell at me for being too somber.

She couldn't fire me because I was the only one who knew how to use the photocopier really well. I swear she must have hated me, I was always working but she constantly yelled at me for slacking off, while right beside me her favourites would just be lounging around, goofing off and poking fun at those who came to the conference. She wouldn't give them a second thought.

Last time I worked for her though, she pushed one of her favourites at me and forced me to teach her how to work it, which I spent the entire day doing. Then she told me not to come back in the next day. Apparently the next day there was a huge photocopying disaster and they needed to ask for help. The next conference, though, she made our other boss only hire her favourites again. That's the last time I've heard from the conference, but some of her favourites moved away, so I might get hired again. : / I might ask the school counsellour about it since I wasn't technically supposed to "know" about the most recent conference.

and my brothers boss apparently thinking of hiring me to design websites for $20/hour but I think that's too much

Worked in a 7/11 last summer, hated it! I'm not a people person and I'm not very good at sucking up to angry folks. Luckily I had a guy with me alot of the time who would calm them down so I didn't end up snapping and yelling back at them... I was good at heavy lifting and putting stock out, but the guy's would mess with me and load the trolleys so full I couldn't move them. (I also hated my shift times as it meant I had to eat a cold dinner there in the staff room).
I'm going to be volunteering for a counselling company soon (when I'm 18) and eventually I want to be a psychiatrist/counsellor.

I don't know if that's a job, but I'm a pirate. I mean, not the one who sails the seas. I'm making copies of stuff, cracking discs and things like that. Pretty easy and incomeable. On the bad side, my work stands only on rumors, because I can't make advertisement of any type, if it's tied with my "job". I think, you know why.

My job is making plastic trays like these:
Image
For the most part I stand next to an injection molding machine for 12 hrs (used to be only 8). After spending 2 hrs. on one machine, you go to break, then rotate out to the next machine down the line (when it was an 8 hr shift you were stuck on 1 machine the whole night).
It can be both easy or hard, depending on the type of product. With some all you have to do is grab the part after the machine drops it out and stack it on a pallet, then wait 30 seconds for the next one. Or you have to hot stamp the name of the buyer on both sides, trim excess plastic off, and put it in a cooling fixture, plus stack them. In as little as 40 seconds. Or it can be putting wheels on dollies or putting the lids on totes. I also run the grinder (which grinds up bad or used trays so the plastic can be reused), or a forklift. The easiest is being a break operator. When it's break time you take over for someone so they can go on their break. And in between breaks you just clean or help someone out.
I hate the 12 hrs, but at least i get every day of the week off (at different times) unlike before. And i'm getting $10.15 an hr. Plus the benefits are better than before.

Since I'm studying I haven't worked to much really. But I have worked on the summers the last 3 years. Only for 3 week each but I got machine. Mainly I washed machines on my dad's work (they make plastic bags for supermarkets and stuff). The two first summers was a hell had to work with a fucking lazy idiot. For an example: He called and said that the boss said that it had to be 4 people to do something. And I went there and start to drk and then he just sits there and just fooled me. Ofcourse I realised that it was a scammed and stopped listening to him. But I got pretty well paid actually :D.

Mass production of Peptone,TSB,FTL,Agar and some antihistamines.
Killing bacteria like EColi, Salmonella, Cryptos Beridyum and lots more nasty shit that could kill me.

Overall I'm pretty happy with my job (the pay is pretty darn good) but unfortunately the hours I have to work at are criminal sooooooo hopefully I wont have to work there for too long.
