fifty thousand a year (Before tax)

hurray
If you don't mind me asking, what did you do at Uni, and how much work experience have you had since?

EDIT: I just realised that's more or less the same amount my mum earns (also before tax) and she's a friggin gynaecologist. (albeit a very underpaid one!)

Chemical Engineering. I'm still not sure what I'll do after I get my degree, though.

I currently work in Boots the Chemist, but my aim is to be a Radio Presenter or Producer. If that doesn't work out, I don't care what I do, so long as it pays.

But the way things are going, it will work out.

I also thinked like that before. But then I realised I probably had to "look" on old ladies. That totally got me off the hook for that career.

I don't know why anyone would want to look at women's downstairs for a living XD

I like Boots. Advantage card points wooo!

I found out the other week that I'm being underpaid. We get paid less than the people who work on the IT helpdesk even though we do far more work .__.

Our manager is trying to get our wages up but the actual manager for the department is a bit of a bitch so doesn't care ;__; darn NHS.

Yea but you can't part pay with the buggers. You don't know how many people don't read that part and get pissed off when I tell them.

My colleagues in Boots are amazing. As I work weekends, they're mostly my age so we have a lot of fun.
Also mostly female, which is nice too. Not that I'm looking for that shit at the moment.

I AM WHOLLY PROFESSIONAL! SSHHHH!

haha my friend's studying to be a gynaecologist, she really wants to be one... I don't get why though... : /

I'm thinking of applying for a job at starbucks after my 16th birthday. I know a bunch of the people who work there already and my friend's planning to get a job in the summer. Does anyone know if it's a good idea-- working for starbucks that is?

i'm not sure of the exact store, since it's a long time until my next birthday, but the average seems to be around $9.50 per hour? for a barista at least, which is the job i'd get if i were hired...

I'm a student, but sometimes I sideline as a graphic artist / layout artist for some magazines. Otherwise I draw my own comics and sell them. I haven't found a stable bookstore that would be willing to sell my comics yet, however. but I'm still looking... and bargaining.

So an average working day is about.. five hours? so five by 9.50= 47.50
47.50 by an average working week of five days =237.50$
Heay thats a pretty deecent salary.

okay so my last job was so fucking unbelievable.

i'll try to sum it up by first telling you about the people i worked with:

first, there is this supermodel wannabe chick. yeah, okay, she was pretty hot, but damn is she completely useless. the girl is constantly fixing her hair or putting on makeup. she's extremely self-centered and has never once considered the needs or wants of anyone but herself. she was as dumb as a box of rocks, and i still find it surprising that she has enough brain power to continue to breathe.

the next chick was the complete opposite. she might even be one of the smartest people on the planet. her career opportunities were endless, and yet she was here with us. she is a zero on a scale of 1 to 10, if you know what i mean. i'm not sure she even showered, much less shaved her "womanly" parts. i think she might be a lesbian, because every time we drove by the hardware store, she'd moan like a cat in heat.

but the jewel of the crowd has got to be the fucking stoner. and this guy is more than just your average pothead. in fact, he was baked before he came to work, during work, and i'm sure after work. he probably hasn't been sober anytime in the last ten years, and he's only 22. he dressed like a beatnik throwback from the sixties, and to make things worse, he brought his big fucking dog to work every fucking day. i had to look at this huge great dane walk around half-stoned from the second-hand smoke. hell, sometimes i even think it tried to talk from all its constant bellowing. also, both of them are constantly hungry, requiring multiple stops to mcdonalds, burger king, whatever, every single fucking day.

anyway, my job was to drive these idiots around in my van to solve mysteries and shit.
