Theres a house near where I live that always has christmas decorations up. And by always, I mean ALL YEAR. They just hang there, so even in summer the lights are on the outside walls of their house, not being used.
But at the first of december they flick on. Their electricity bill must be a giant...

Well not if they're not being used O__o

That's what I thought.

I love the Home Alone films. 1 and 2 anyway. I'm gonna have to dig them out for Christmas day and watch them again with my folks. They capture the spirit perfectly.

Home Alone is my favorite Christmas film.

Someone told me about a place that celebrates Christmas as ''Low Tide's Day'', Every year on Christmas morning, the water around their town goes down drastically. So they get boots, attatch them to the docks on Low Tide's Eve, and wait for the sea god to put presents in there overnight. Then they pull up their boots the next morning.

If you've been bad, or don't have a present in your boot, mermen will stuff you in a sack and beat you unless you found a place to hide.

Instead of "Good Tidings", they say "Low Tidings".

Favourite Christmas movie?
Um..........Actually, I'm a fan of some of the versions of "A Christmas Carol". There's just something about Dickens' work, you know?
I have no plans to see that new Disney one, though.

Seconded on Christmas Carol.

The new Disney one makes me want to see the Mickey version instead.

Mickey mouse one? Lolz.
Nah, I prefer the one with people instead of animals, and one that don't place a large emphasis on comedy. I noticed one of the versions was on today, but I decided not too watch it.

It's more of my love for Disney animation than anything else. That being said, I don't believe I've ever seen it.

Post subject:  Re: I Love Christmas

Yeah, that's the one I'm referring to.

I'll check it out on youtube later. It's only thirty minutes.

Edit: Watching it now. Donald is having a "plump goose" for Christmas dinner. Am I the only one seeing something wrong with this?

I loove watching A Christmas Story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Home Alone 1 and 2. It doesn't feel like Christmas until I watch these movies... and cartoon.

First of all, there is all the Christmas specials. Then there are the parades the marching band does which I actually like because we get to decorate our horns with Christmas themes junk.

does anyone here like watching the xmas specials of TV series such as Dr.Who?

Plus, the people who live down the road from us, they have them on 5-m onwards till the next morning. And their house is covered. I can see like, what? 20 bricks? and the door + windows? I do like lights but too many ruins it.

Also this year, Victoria wood is doing a special and finally singing her version of "Let's Do it"

Slight warning, it's a bit rude, so maybe not for the workplace. Damn funny though.

Screw London (no offense to anyone living there), you need to move to the mountains. Nothing is more beautiful than a snowy night.

I'm not so bothered about nature. I like seeing what becomes of rich retail chains throwing their money around :3

I like a mix of both. I love seeing snowy mountains.
I once went to a place called Kielder Forest in Northumberland when the snow was thick. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

However I do love the lights that go up around London, and the buzz of excitement that ebbs through a whole city is just so warming.

Wow, that's beautiful. I've never spent Christmas in a city, being very much a country girl, but I bet it's warmer there in winter than it is in my village. Though we do get a lot of snow and ice and such, which it quite pretty XD

Ahhh, just got back from my radio show, and played a few Christmas songs. Damn I felt on top of the world listening to them. I missed a back-count though and had to cut Slade short for the news :(

Well how am I supposed to get it then?

No matter. There'll be a way I'm sure. I'll really start driving it after Christmas.

I see your point. And Australia are the third best rugby team in the world. They beat Wales. :( (Yeah, I'm quite the Welsh rugby fan)
But I do agree christmas is better with snow and the cold... :D

We South Americans have the same problem. I mean Christmas in Summer. We're quite good at Rugby, and I have no idea at Cricket.

In other news, my Christmas tree ended up greatly. Too bad it's plastic. I think we aren't allowed to cut down that kind of trees here. And they are very hard to find. So yeah.

You WHAT?! My goodness. I am no big drinker but there's nothing better than drinking yourself to a point where people start wearing Sombreros and carrying cut-outs of Spider Pig. Was that alcohol or the other one? Oh well.

I intend to do the veerry same on Saturday night. Drunk foruming is always fun.

Getting so drunk that you think anyone in fancy dress is worth groping/mounting/generally molesting is great.

It's what Christmas is all about :gant:

Ok so the hangover might make you feel like you're about to die but it's worth it.
