Here's my first contribution:
Marguerite's Apple Pie
Peel, core, and slice enough pie apples (Golden Delicious is great for this) to make about 4 cups, or enough to fill a deep-dish pie pan. Set aside.
Combine the following in a small bowl:
1/4 cup turbinado sugar
2 T. flour
3 T. maple syrup
2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. nutmeg
2 T. unsweetened apple juice
Pour half the sugar slurry onto the apples and, using your hands, gently work it in until slices are coated. Pour filling into pastry-lined deep-dish pie pan. Pour remaining slurry over filling. Top with additional pastry, crumble topping, what have you, and bake in 400 degree oven for about 40 minutes.
