Well, you know what to do. Like them, hate them, are okay with them...?

Personally, I'm OKAY with them. Our Dentist-man is nice. The worst thing they do is that mini-hoover thing that sucks your mouth dry. ewewewewewewwwww that's disgusting.
And Fillings. HOLY CRAP FILLINGS. I need ANOTHER one, and I brush my teeth twice a day, which is more than some people I know who have no fillings. real fair. Anyway they are kinda painful, I do cry a bit :bellboy:

but not much. I do however, dig my nails into my dads arm really hard to take away the pain. lol. AND it doesn't help when they have that stoopid TV on the ceiling if they're shining a light in your eyes, wtf?

Anyway, enough about my half-rant. What are your veiws?

Hehe, I hate dentists so much. I'm lucky that the dentist I go to now knows my family from my brother so he's really kind and does things quickly and not painfully. Still, I refuse to get a needle unless I have anesthetic (which luckily, I haven't had a needle!)

Actually, for the last two years and before I had to go back, I was terrified of dentists because of a short story called "On Edge." Ergh, that story is very descriptive yet makes me want to vomit thinking of it :p

I don't like dentists, but they're not that bad... I hate the toothbrush thingy that they use. It's so uncomfortable =\ Also, I have bad teeth (it's not that I don't take care of them, they're just bad... no matter what I do. And I know I'm not doing too bad a job, because they aren't getting worse, but anyway...) and they always have to tell me to brush and how to do it, but I do do it and it's just my teeth are naturally bad and it's annoying T_T But meh.

I don't mind the dentist but hate it when I have to get fillings. A few years ago I had to have my wisdom teeth taken out and an extra tooth had to come out because it was rotted O_O (I didn't even know it was... It was one of my back teeth so I couldn't see it). Amazingly, I didn't have any pain at all :D But I had to eat nothing but mashed potatoes, apple sauce and soft serve ice cream for a week.

Last year, I kept having this weird pain in my tooth, and about four months after, when I gave up, and decided to go to the dentists, they gave me an x-ray (and a syringe. JESUS they sting.), and it turns out it's overgrown to twice it's size, and touching an auditory nerve.

I had to have it removed, with that weird foamy stuff that makes your mouth go all marshmallow-esc, and gave me laughing gas.

I felt like I was fucking FLOATING.

Good news though: it was a baby tooth. But I never knew baby teeth could do that... :lana:

I used to like them, because they gave me stickers whenever I visted them. Then, when I asked my dentist for a sticker the last time, he laughed at me. :sadshoe:

Ugh, dentists. Believe it or not, I used to be scared of them. For a reason too, I still remember my first ever visit where I had to have two baby teeth extracted. I didn't want the needle (Keep in mind I was only 7). Next thing I know, I had my mom yelling at me, the assistant holding me down and covering my eyes and the dentist holding me down and stabbing my mouth. It took me a little more than 10 years before I would even think about going to another dentist. Needless to say, we never went back to that one.
Nowadays, I think mine is alright. Nice guy, I just hate having my teeth scaled. The scraping is really uncomfortable. I'm not the biggest fan of the fluoride rinse at the end, the thing always seems to make me nauseous.

Personally, I don't mind going to the dentist. I haven't had any fillings put in since I lost my baby teeth, and my permanent teeth are pretty straight and white, so I haven't had anything major done in a while.

My dentist is a really nice old guy with a huge moustache, but the last time I went, he wasn't there so I had an American guy who I didn't really like.

Does anyone else brush their teeth before going to the dentist, or am I the only one that does this?

Eh, going to the dentists is dreadful, but not to the point I wouldn't go. Daily brushing doesn't compare to the cleaning you get from going to the dentists. (I go every 6 months, myself...)

I also have an orthodontist that I go to once a year since I've had my braces off, and that's about it. I have really sensitive teeth though so a trip to the dentist or orthodontist isn't fun, but I'll do it if I have to.

I hate going to the dentist, but where I go, they are really nice. The one who cleans my teeth is really friendly, but damn!! She digs like crazy in your teeth!! There's another one who does my fillings and is sooo sweet. She always has the nicest compliments, even if you think your teeth are disgusting looking. Then there is one of the main dentists. He only comes in to do last minute check ups or to put the shots in my mouth. He's really sweet too. He's always so nice and soft spoken. The only downside to having such great dentists is that it cost a shit ton of money.

I hate it how they drill your teeth ,its really uncomfortable (especially because I refuse the needle >w<).
What annoys me even more is that you have to open your mouth really wide for long periods of time.
But I think my dentist is alright. I brush my teeth like 3-4 times a day, so my teeth are alright too.

Once a week? Yara, no offence but thats gross

Anyway, some of you guys seem to be lucky. NO FILLINGS? WRRRYY? I look after my teeth perfectly I even use dental floss + mouthwash if we have it.
I sometimes think dentists FIND problems. Like where they say I need a filling, it doesn't hurt at all. But then they make you wait three months & it gets worse so the filling and drilling hurts more. Can't they do it straightaway, while its still small?
I go once every 3 months. My dad forces me too. -.-
And I brush my teeth before going. Just to give them an okay impression :wellington:

My cousin is my dentist! She's real nice to me but I can't help but be a little bit afraid of her... None of my baby teeth came out naturally - yes, they were all yanked out by the dentist - so I'm kind of traumatized already. XD And since she's my cousin, I always get so nervous whenever I see her at family reunions and parties. I just hope that she doesn't notice that I make a conscious effort to hide my teeth from her all the time... OTL I'm only NOT afraid of her when I know I'm just gonna get a cleaning. I love getting my teeth cleaned!

I also find it interesting that she ended up marrying another dentist. :U

Edit: Forgot to mention that I used to have braces... Those were horrible. OTL

I have had braces since February 2007. They're really not that bad. I had to have "bite ramps" though, and I got really nervous when they said they had to grind them out, and I was maybe not nervous enough for when they actually did...The braces themselves I kind of like having though.

I don't want to go to the dentist, ever.
But i have to.
I don't like .. no, i hate things that can bring any kind of pain.
Like, i had a double teeth. My new one grew over my baby teeth.
The dentist always said it would fall out someday. Well, it didn't because i was very very carefull.
So, then the dentist had to take it out. :lana:

Because it can lead to tooth decay and plaque build up. After time, plaque turns into tartar. If it builds up, it will lead to gum disease.

Also, (and I originally learnt this from Saw 6 by the way (google searching confirmed it 8D)), gum disease can lead to a form of heart disease called atherosclerosis :think:

Can you imagine if the reason for your death was simply not brushing your teeth D8

And bad breath can't be kept away with mints =|

I know that, but the few times I have been to the dentist, they said that my teeth were perfectly fine except that I might need braces. But that's only because I used to chew gum too much. As a people, the dentists I see are nice but I despise going to the dentist. My teeth are good but every 6 months I have to get them cleaned with that weird rotating toothbrush that has that disgusting toothpaste thing and it always feels weird.

I'm only trying to help here! Oral health is easy to maintain but so many people don't bother.
