Halloween is just a day away, do any of you celebrate it?
If so, any ideas for costumes or any decorating?

How about some scary/funny stories from your Halloween experience?

Hmmm... I remember when I was in elementary school a friend I had at the time chased around a guy dressed as a troll XD

Though when I was really little Halloween scared me... I used to be TERRIFIED of people in costumes. Not anymore though.

Ever since a few years ago, I always wear a Japanese style outfit. It's not a kimono because it's sleeveless, so I'm not sure what those are called. Since I'm too old to go trick or treating now and have no friends to go to Halloween parties with, I just stay home and help my mom and dad pass out candy to the kiddies :3

Nothing scary or funny to tell...

Although one year, I managed to take three trips around the neighborhood in three different costumes.

That might sound like insane work, but it was an Oakley gym bag's worth of candy well earned!

When I went out trick-or-treating, I always ate a few things and then put the candy away until I found it ten months later in August. XD

Seriously. It was scary when I'd pull out unidentifiable once-edible objects from under the bed.

@ Adrian in black: I tried that one year with two costumes; I only got candy from a few houses because most knew who I was and said "You've already been past here, sweetie." or something along that lines.

@ Cravat of Doom: One year, me, my brother, and on of his friends combined all of our candy into one big bag and saved it so it could last the whole year. *FAIL* 5 weeks later, it was half empty, and 4 weeks after that, it was nearly empty. XD

The key is to ensure that at least one of your two costumes covers your entire body and obscures your face. One time when I was a young'un, I had a "fancy" costume that was me in a full-body cardboard box, painted and designed to look like a stoplight. (We cut in three vertical holes, covered the holes with circular colored tissue paper, and I had a flashlight inside the box so I could light up the three "lights" at will, and switch from green to yellow to red as I pleased. It was an awesome costume, and it obscured my entire body.

...I also had a silly, comparatively crappy store-bought cowboy costume. :jake:

So I went trick-or-treating the first time in the crappy cowboy costume, lowered my voice a couple octaves, and then went trick-or-treating again in the stoplight costume. Went to the same houses, scored double the treats! :redd:
...My friends were quite jealous at the time, anyway.
(I then went to a party halfway across town in the stoplight costume and won 2nd place in the best costume contest. Some teenage girl in an elaborate and revealing mermaid costume beat me. It was rigged, I tell ya. That or the voters were thinking with the wrong part of their anatomy.)

...But now I'm far too old to trick-or-treat. I'll be giving candies to the children who live in my apartment, though! They get to come with their parents and knock on the door to my place in our building. It will be quite adorable. :sillytrucy:

I wasn't smart enough to do that, nor was I able to with the costumes and time I had. (I was both Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Esmerelda from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. And both costumes were way too small for me in my 6th grade year. XD)

I like the idea for the stoplight costume, though~. (Rigged contest? CONSPIRACY, I TELL YA!! CONSPIRACY!!!)

I remember when I was a kid I spent the whole night filling up bags of candy only to find out my parents would take them away..... Sad times.

Aww... Why would they take them away?

Well, I have absolutely no idea what I am for Halloween. I just chose one of these costumes that my friend's mom brought over because it was cute. It's one of those witch type of knee length dresses. I'm gonna wear it with tights and flats 'cause it's friggin' cold at night where I live. I wanna go to the Philippines! It's warm everyday except for this storm thingy that I can't remember the name of that comes every year. I should soooooo use a rice bag as my trick or treat bag. I'll spread my asianess by using that rice bag and bring it from house to house, thus, spreading my asianess. Yeah, I'm weird. But you can deal with it, right? Well, my other choices for a candy bag would be a pillow case. They didn't give us the candy bags they usually give us at school this year. =( I'm probably gonna have to go trick or treating with my neighbor. He's a weird kid who's school I used to go to(then I got transfered because of my smartness). Whenever I played video games with him, he would stand up and jump around with the controller. He would also get REALLY close to the TV. One time when I was at his house he got in trouble for doing that. So yeah. I'll be trick or treating with a bunch of weird kids. Pray for me.

Ehehe.... (This is where my love for urban legends kinda started.)

@ Meenyman: This is kind-of a guess, but were you trick-or-treating around the times that the rumors of drugged candy and stuff like that was floating around? (I'm sorry if this turned anyone away from trick-or-treating....)

@ filipinoamerican: My dad called my mom to ask if I wanted to go trick-or-treating with his girlfriend's 13-14-year-old son. I never got to answer him back.... Bah.

Boring this year, never made plans.

The only Halloweens I can remember are one when I was 14 or 15, I went trick or treating as the possessed kid from The Exorcist.

Then when I was 18 I went as some sort of fallen angel. The party I went to was SO boring that me and my mate went trick or treating.

Luckily where I live, there are never trick or treaters around here.

Buuut, we had fun- I went as Belle from Beauty and the Beast and we all did the Macarena :3

Happy Halloween and Reformation Day! :D

---------

I'm actually kind of happy that we don't celebrate Halloween around here, at least not that much. However, I'm sure that some kids still will be trick or treating in this area, I just hope they won't stop by at our place. I don't have "real" candy around here... just packages of these and some yogurt. Thanks god that our doorbell isn't working, I would never give those filthy children any of my things, well, except a rock or something.

Oh and my Halloween evening is going to be filled with watching a lot of stupid Halloween-centered movies, yay!

Good for you.

But just do everyone a favor and go through the trouble of dressing up.

There's nothing more infuriating than a big kid running around with a pillow sack wearing the same clothes he wore the last seven Thursdays, demanding candy just for being there.

Right now it is raining in Florida but hopefully not the whole day...... damn you Florida.

Since I don't have much to do I usually go trick or treating, even if I look creepy doing it like 2 years ago when I went as George W. Bush during the election. Just imagine a tall pale guy with a creepy George W. Bush mask and a clip-on tie and you have it.

Now I will dominate the streets as the ghost of Billy Mays MUHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHA, and hopefully not get arrested while doing it if someone is enough of a jerk to do so. :payne:

*sigh* I have no idea where I'm gonna trick or treat. I usually leave this stuff to my parents but they never tell me important information like this. I guess if they don't say anything it means that we're going trick or treating in our neighborhood. I remember there was this one year when I went back to the house to empty my heavy bag of candy and then I got half the bag full when I went to a different part of the neighborhood.
These recent years I haven't been getting much candy from people. Last year, I got only half of my bag. Most of it was gummies. I like chocolate better. I think it's because I'm getting older and it's showing. I've never lived in any other place besides this neighborhood. One of our neighbors still remember my mom walking around in the front lawn with me in her stomach. And then most of the adults remember me as a baby. This sucks. I should just wear a face mask, hat, or really heavy make up one Halloween and go trick or treating...

@javados
So your gonna be Billy Mays for Halloween? Well that's pretty AWESOME! You should go around holding OxiClean or whatever and scream at little kids to buy your product. "OXICLEAN WILL MAKE THAT HALLOWEEN COSTUME SPOTLESS AFTER JUST ONE WASH! IT'LL GET ALL THOSE TOUGH CHOCOLATE STAINS OUT! COME ON, YOU KNOW YOU WANT OXICLEAN!" You should so say that.

There's going to be a haunted house (actually a barn) in my town for the first time in IDK how long. The school used to have Haloween parties every year, but i'm not sure if they do it anymore because in 1999 they announced they wouldn't be having one, which pretty much pissed off the entire town (that was during the time when politically correct bullshit was everywhere thanks to the school shootings that were happening).
Pretty sure my scanner will be active with calls about vandalisim. Though that doesn't happen as much anymore since there's now a curfew at 11PM.
This house is on a dead end street so the only trick or treaters that have shown up in the past were mostly the kids of neighbors or people we knew.

My Halloween weekend was...interesting.
Spoiler: Cut for longness
Well, on the 29th, I went out with a friend and we were supposed to go to some Halloween party together. We were meeting up with 2 of her other friends but when we got there, her friends came out and said they were leaving because the party was pretty lame. So we decided to go to some clubs. I've never hung out with her two friends before, but they were really...wild. Luckily, we were able to get into the clubs for free as well as free drinks since my friend's friend knew a bunch of people who worked there.

I had three of I don't know what from the first club, since my friend ordered for me, but when we got to the other club, we had about for shots with Red Bull and a Jaegerbomb. We got really drunk, it was pretty crazy. My friend's friend was trying to set me up with every guy who worked at the clubs DX I was dressed as Mikuru in her battle waitress outfit and my friend dressed up as a zombie doll. It was pretty interesting when people kept asking me what I was supposed to be. I sometimes answered a waitress, but most of the time I said "battle waitress from the future". Two guys thought I was "Wendy" from the fast food restaurant Wendy's. WTF. It was pretty fun, and the day after was just...spectacular (understatement of the century).
I met a Billy Mays at the first club and he came up to me and said (with a spot on Billy Mays impression), "BILLY MAYS HERE, AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE FOR HALLOWEEN!!"
After my hangover kinda died down, I passed out candy to the trick-or-treaters and I was in my Haruhi school uniform. Everyone thought I was a cheerleader... Then my sister invited my other sister and me to her Halloween party, so we decided to be nice and go. Of course we were the first two there and when more people showed up, we decided to leave. I was way too tired and still kinda sick feeling, plus the alcohol was too tempting to drink XD We also didn't know anybody, so it was kinda awkward...

No, you're just missing the point. Of course any douchebag can go out and buy a mini-candy bar assortment bag. But it's more fun if you go out and work for it. Not only that, but chances are, you'll get a better variety of candy. Best of all, it's FREE minus the cost of your costume, but hopefully you were creative without breaking the bank.

But you do bring up an interesting point. Candy is way too accessible year-round. It used to be just Halloween if you wanted a bunch of candy. And chocolate bunnies and Peeps (vile as those are) during Easter. And maybe chocolates for Valentine's Day.

Now it's, "Let's have Christmas candy!" and "Let's have autumn-themed/Thanksgiving candy!" and "Let's have 4th of July candy!" and just plain "Let's have insane amounts of candy year-round!" I think that does take away from the whole candy gathering ritual during Halloween, if only a little.

One time I went trick or treating as Batman as a kid and got loads of candy. A few weeks later, I couldn't fit into my costume any more. A couple more weeks passed, and I had to buy bigger pants.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

I love Halloween! I also love being at that age where I still look young enough to go trick or treating while also being old enough to have wild, crazy parties.

Unfortunately I can't go to any parties this year because Halloween is on a school night, but I can still trick or treat for a little while, oh well...

I like the idea of halloween, its just certain trick or treaters ruin it...Oh, you know the ones that will egg your house if you dont open the door and give them sweets, the ones that dont bother with a costume, just wear a hoodie with jeans, like they do everyday. The oens that scream outside your house and say
'OH YOURE TOO SCARED TO OPEN THE DOOR TO A 13 YEAR OLD!!!'
No I just cant be bothered to get up and answer the door to give sweets to pricks who dont deserve it. Or if I feel nasty I open the door and give them fruit. muhahaha. If its kids being noisy, and I mean under 10's, then its fine, because it's cute and they dress up like real halloween creatures and they try.

As for me trick or treating, then yeah I do it some years but this year I didnt because I wanted to have pumpkin soup and do other things like that.

I luckily haven't come across any trick-or-treaters who were that annoying, but I do sometimes see the kid who will wear just a sweatshirt and jeans. I mean, I did that once before, but it was a year that I hadn't planned on trick-or-treating and my parents told me to just go anyway, but still, put some effort into your costume kids.

Another thing that bugged me last night was this group of little kids deciding to sit in my yard and wait for the younger kids they were with to catch up. The dad was with them and didn't even bother to tell them to get out of the yard and just sit on the driveway, nor did the kids ask to sit in my yard. I tried to tell them to not sit in the yard because we have dogs and they're sitting in their toilet, but they continued to sit there and the dad looked at me like I told them off or something. I mean, really!?

GRAH. I hate it when people pull pranks on you corresponding to a coming holiday. GRAWR. I hate it. My sister's boyfriend did that to me once. I was watching TV in my parents' room. He decides to go upstairs(my parents' room is upstairs) and scare me. As my back is turned to the door and I'm facing the TV, he goes and grabs me and screams at me. Then I start crying. Since I was sitting on my parents' bed, I curled up in the blankets and cried. The rest is history.
Today he scared me. I was on CR, and as he's walking past me he takes his forearm and smashes it against my neck. There was a chair back behind me. I was choking, so I clawed my nails into his arm. And then he stopped. I told my sister, and she said,"GOOD." Then my other sister showed her boyfriend a picture of when I used to be cute. *sigh* It's not cool when you have your sisters' boyfriends at your house ALMOST EVERYDAY.
GRAH. GRAWR. GOODBYE. I'M GONNA GO SLAP HIM.

Ah, I haven't been trick-or-treating in the longest time. My most vivid memory of Halloween is knocking on the door and this guy coming out with a Jason Voorhees mask and a fake (I hope Dx) blood-covered chainsaw. He was waving a bag of sweets in the air and laughing his ass off, but we all screamed and ran away anyway, being around eight at the time. :shivers:

Attempt to slap: FAIL.
You know what happened? I go to slap him. We're standing 6 in. apart. I move in for the slap. He trips me and I land on the corner of an ottoman. IT SUUUUCKS. Well, I'm about to go trick or treating with my sister, her devil boyfriend and her friend. Her friend is dressing up as Piplup, but I'm insisting that she's a duck. She's using paper feet for her feet, she already broke off one of the toes. We taped it back on. I've already gotten candy and I haven't even gone out of the house. The candy is from the basket of candy that my sister is handing out to the kiddies. I saw some crazy teenagers one year. It was pretty cool.

I don't really want to go out for Halloween this year, (don't like candy) but my Mom is forcing me to go with my friend.

Hmm... I gotta funny story.

Well, several years ago, when I was young and stupid, I was trick-or-treating and I went into some old person's house, and they were dressed up as Frankenstein. Well, instead of giving me candy, they said, "Oh, young boy, I've got meat for you!" So I went inside his house, and there I saw it - raw meat. But this wasn't ordinary meat. This a raw chicken leg. In a ziploc. And naturally, chicken is my favourite food, I much prefer it to candy and chocolate, so I said, "Thank you very much!" to the stunned man.

Well, turns out, it was actually a joke, and he had candy. So, a couple of houses later, he came chasing down the street, coaxing me. "Kid, it was a joke, I've got candy!" To which I replied, "No thanks, I'd rather have the meat!" and ran off. Eventually, after my dad told me it wasn't safe to eat the meat, I gave it up. Ah, those were the days.

@Perseverance
I've gone around my neighborhood three times in one costume once, and got candy each time :edgy:

My...fingers...are...so...cold... I was just out trick or treating. The same as last year, 1/4 of my bag is full. It was fun, though. I was listening to The Hush Sound and Through the Fire and the Flames by Dragonforce for about half the time I trick or treated. I was just eating a hard candy, but it wasn't really solid. It was actually filled with this powder that's tingly on your tongue. I accidentally bit it, and broke it to bits. So my tongue was really fizzy.
Ah... There are still those young un's out trick or treating. A few just came around my house and yelled, "TRICK OR TREAT!" It was really loud.
I'm debating if I should go trick or treating next year, or just stay home and pass out candy. :yogi:

I'm passing candy out right now, but I'm already hating it, so I'm passing the time by reading stories on Creepypasta.com.

A few of my friends had come by when I was changing into a half-assed costume, and I never got to see them, so that sucked. Then a little girl came by with some of her siblings (I guess), and she had a little dog with her. I didn't see the little girl and her dog until she was the last one to get her candy. Of course, my dog was in the living room with me, and, she doesn't like other dogs, so..... yeah......

................ *cries in the corner of her living room*
*trumpet sounds*

T'was the night of Halloween,
and all through the town.
All the people ate candy,
except for the clown.
He sat at the carnival,
a place time forgot.
No games or rides,
just an empty lot.
He pretended his balloons,
were the children he entertained.
His hair is now grey,
his pants dully stained.
He tied the balloon children,
to the bleachers where kids sat.
He gave them faces,
and silly names like Matt.
He juggled things like knives,
(a dangerous trick for a clown)
He pretended the children laughed,
until he fell down.
He heard a balloon pop,
his body started to shake.
A knife where the balloon sat.
"What silly sounds children make"
He picked up a knife
And poked another balloon.
He laughed and continued,
the room as empty soon.
He walked from the carnival,
His knives were long and slick.
He had but one thing on his mind,
"More children must see this trick."
He wanders through the neighborhood,
The children point and stare.
"what a sad clown he makes,
with stained pants and grey hair."
He runs toward the children,
"I'm a clown, not a fake"
He proves it with his trick,
"what silly sounds Children make."
