I have math homework and forgot my protractor. I didn't do most of the questions because it required the instrument. I start to wonder if I can get into the website to get the answers. Of course I failed and I look through the papers and notice that there's an answer key. I then realize that my teacher did say there was an answer key... :headbang:
After all that... :zenitora: ARGH!

Can anyone top that?

Try me. I'm sure you "geniuses" could find a way to prove it to me. You do after all, claim to be a genius. Without evidence, your claim is not valid.
Prove it and I just might actually think of you as abnormal.

If all else fails just do "y=4x + 7". My friend did that on all his assignments during our junior year together and he passed with a B+.

Ah, good ol' American standard education system.

Hm, other than the fact I did the wrong page. I'm usually good about writing down my homework.

When I went on vacation I drew a picture of Pajama Sam then we got back I dropped it on my floor. The other day I was franticially searching for it and I was checking the floor STARING RIGHT AT IT THE WHOLE TIME AND DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE IT!

Just two days ago, I needed to have two sheets of graph paper for two different assignments: Algebra II and Physics.

Thing is, I didn't have a second sheet a paper ANYWHERE, so I had to cut up one paper in half to get two sheets.

I turned them in yesterday, and while my Physics paper was accepted, my Algebra II paper wasn't, and the teacher told me I had to redo it. =(

Well, lately I haven't done anything too boneheaded in math...although, I've made some pretty bad mistakes in the past. Mostly forgetting about homework, then doing it while the teacher is going on about something else, then finishing it in time. Although, I remember I had a Pre-Algebra homework due, and for some reason, I didn't have it (I'm pretty sure I left it at home) so I finished up the warm-ups, and re-did the homework in class, right in the front row, and somehow finished it. The teacher didn't accept it, though. Go figure. :eh?:

I've done that before.

One morning I was running late for class and frantically searching for my car keys all over the house for about 5 minutes before I realized I was already holding them. :meekins:

Wait till you're a bit older. I was having a panic the other night thinking I had lost my DS stylus - I was even giving the dogs suspicious looks thinking they might have eaten it.

I'd tucked it behind my ear earlier in the evening and completely forgotten. It wasn't until my Other Half came downstairs and asked what I was swearing for and then pointed it out (while laughing his ass off mind you) that I realised.

I haven't quite got to the stage where I walk into a room and forget why but I'm sure that's next.

I used to spend 3 hours a day doing the homework with my Math Teacher in high school and I still usually got every answer wrong anyway. Heck, he usually ended up giving me the answers by the end of that time. How I ever passed, I'll never know. :sadshoe:

I was supposed to read two books this summer I didn't and now I have to write a reading log about both of them AND take a test on them. It was pretty stupid not read them honestly I would've read them if I hadn't found CR.

And I don't even regret it.

In my Chemistry exam last week I didn't know the answer to one of the questions, so I wrote 'do a barrel roll'. I thought we'd be marking them in class, so I'd get to mark my own - but no. The teacher took them in. I'll be interested to see what comments she gives me on the barrel roll question...

Oh, and my friend was giving me an on-the-spot Beatles trivia quiz, and asked me who the youngest member was. I guessed all of them, and got them all wrong until I managed to establish it was George. My friend then proceeded to ask me who the oldest was. My first guess? George, of course. *facepalm*

I can summarize my stupid antics from 7th grade as follows:

Teacher: Bring a 9V battery to class tomorrow! Make sure it's a good one- you can test them by touching the connectors to your tongue.

Me: Hrm. I know that metal conducts electricity. I'm wearing metal braces on my teeth. Hey, I wonder what would happen if-

*ZAAAAAAAP*

Me: That... tickled. Oh, hey, why is my alarm clock on the other side of the room flashing 12:00?

... As far as I'm aware, years later and that instructor still specifically warns his students about 9V batteries and people with braces XD

XD I got one.

It's a Calc-y one, but, basically, I was figuring out how to find the volume of revolution around some line perpendicular to the x-axis. x=6 or something like that. I was SO frustrated, I even came stomping to my friend for help, exclaiming that I understood how to set up the integral for these things and everything, but that the integral was on the wrong side completely- instead of the area being filled between the function and axis, I was under the strange impression it was between the function and axis of revolution. Basically, I thought that integrals worked the opposite direction. It all came back to me in a sudden instant, and I felt soooo stupid after that. I was embarassed a little bit too, in front of my friend and all XD

Anyway, I guess a simpler way of stating how stupid the problem was would be to say I thought I couldn't calculate the volume of a cylinder without the radius being given to me, even though the problem states right in plain sight exactly what the radius is. XD

:ben: Well, I hope that made sense in an amusing way, anyway...

"Above and Beyond" is one of my mottos. And it applies perfectly to this quote. I walk into a room and forget what I'm doing there nearly a quarter of a time I get up to walk into a room to do/get something. Sucky thing is, I only remember a quarter of the quarter. Sadness...but, I'm off topic. So, I'll try to remember another one of my boneheaded math moments...*deep in thought* Well, this moment isn't stupid, in a manner of speaking, more just "Yeah, bad thing to say."
Me: (finishes test, hands it to the teacher) "Please don't say did you check it. Please."
Teacher: (looks at) "Did you check it?"
Me: "Dang it!" "Uh..." (decides whether or not to lie) "...no?"
Teacher: (smiles, says something)
Yeah...not the stupidest thing I've ever done (not by a longshot), even in math. But, it is the only one I can remember. Oh well.

Oh! With Maths specifically...

A couple of years ago, my teacher asked the class an algebra question ("if [equation goes here], what is the value of x?"). It was a really easy question, and the answer was 4 or something, but I put my hand up and said, "x".

THE VALUE OF X IS X, DAMMIT! AND I CAN PROVE IT. *shifty eyes*

That sort of reminds me of this time in maths class.

FYI, I'm left handed.

We were doing probabilty and the teacher asked my friend what the chance of meeting a left handed person was. She turned to me (because we sat together) and went "100%- she's right there."

There was also the "Nicole, move your desk 3/4s of a metre away from Kushbah." But I digress, these aren't really stupid.

Well...there was one time on a math test where I really screwed up. There was a question that had to do with snowfall in two towns. Noticing that one town's snowfall rate went up drastically over the years, and being the sarcastic person I am, I put somewhere in my answer that the drastically rising snowfall rate might've been a side effect of global warming. I got the test back, a 97/100-pretty good. I look at the question where I wrote the comment about global warming-and see the words "global warming" circled, with a "?" and a "-1" over them. Sad thing is is that I was going to not put it in there...but oh well. Old habits die hard.
