I'm working on a final project for Macbeth for English. For Friday, I have to make a CD with 15 songs in it (5 songs for 3 characters). These songs have to match situations or personalities of the characters in the play. I've decided using the music from the Ace Attorney series, and here is what I have chosen (I hope that you've read or seen the play, or you will have no idea what I'm talking about):
Macbeth:
1. The Steel Samurai - At first, Macbeth is a brave soldier, so this song goes perfectly with him. Plus, it goes along with another song...
2. Pursuit ~ Cornered 2002 - I could have used any Pursuit song, but this one is my favorite. This song should play when Macbeth murders King Duncan.
3. Damon Gant ~ Swimming, Anyone? - A perfect song for when he becomes king. Also, Gant is almost exactly like Macbeth: his lust for power was his downfall.
4. Hotline of Fate - This song is good for when his castle his stormed. Also goes along with his second song.
5. Won the Lawsuit (Cadenza) - This song is perfect for when Macbeth is killed at the end and his reign of terror is over.
Lady Macbeth:
1. Distant Traces of Beauty - I don't even have to bother going into detail about this if you know about the play.
2. Congratulations Everybody - To tell you the truth, I'm not really happy about this song. A happy song should play when Lady Macbeth is made queen, but this song doesn't feel right... Can anyone help me on this one?
3. Reminiscence ~ What the Others Have Seen - This song should play when Lady Macbeth feels regret for planning the murder of King Duncan.
4. Psyche Lock (Arrange Version) - This song is perfect for when Lady Macbeth sleepwalks and tells the doctor that she planned the murder of Duncan.
5. Reminiscence ~ The Fire Carves Scars - Lady Macbeth is very deep in depression right now, and this song is perfect to play when she commits suicide.
King Duncan:
1. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations ~ Trial - I only chose this song because it sounds royalish (Duncan is a king, after all). But when I showed this to my teacher, she liked it, so I'm going to keep it. =)
2. Courtroom Lounge ~ Neverending Overture - I'm not sure what to put here, so I chose this song. This song is supposed to represent the party before Duncan is murdered, but this song does not sound... "festive" enough. Help, please?
3. Suspense - Moments before Duncan dies, this should play. No further explanation is needed.
4. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All ~ Prologue - This song should definitely play when Duncan's body is discovered.
5. Reminiscence ~ Steel Samurai's Ballad - This should play when everyone is mourning over his death. It also goes along with Macbeth's first song.
So, anything that I should change? I need all the help I can get for this assignment. Thank you in advance! =)

That's a pretty interesting idea using AA music to describe Shakespeare characters though. Does your teacher know that your source is a video game?

Indeed. If you think these are fitting music pieces to those parts of Macbeth, use them. If not, change them. Rely on yourself.

If *you* feel they fit then it will work, because you will be able to justify why you made the selections you did. It doesn't really matter what we think as it's YOUR interpretation of the play that is the most important thing. Interpret, and be sure you can support your interpretation with reasons from the play, and you're golden.
Take the risks - with English and other arts subjects, where interpretation is all. Make like the games and be sure you have a theory, conviction and the evidence ready to prove it. That's all you need - to a large extent, there is no right answer.

I haven't seen Macbeth, but I like it. At the last scene though, you should play that sad song from the beginning of the "Turnabout Sisters" from PW:AA. Just a little suggestion

I guess I'm about halfway done now. I'll be using my original selection of songs. My sister will be downloading the songs for me, because I haven't illegally downloaded any songs before, and I don't want to start now!

Now all I have to do is do my explanations for each of the songs (3-4 sentences each with quotes, ugh) and create a nice case cover.
I got the idea of the front (a crown with a bloody dagger in it), but... how can I put something in the back!? There's no slip for me to put paper in there!
Side-note: My school finally blocked this forum, so I won't be here during school hours anymore. I'll talk more later.

OK, all I need to do now is find the quotes that support the explanations (which should be easy) and do the front and back covers of the CD case.

EDIT: Well, I'm finally done! I got the front and back covers done! So, I'm finished! Now all I have to do is turn it in tomorrow!
I would post what the front cover looks like, but I can't for two reasons:
1. Er, I don't know how to upload pictures on the Internet.
2. Even if I did, I don't want you guys to have your eyes bleed. No, don't laugh. I'm serious.
Let's hope for an A, even with an atrocious cover!

Asking a forum for help isn't really the same as asking the person right next to you for answers. For one thing, if you want answers for math, you look in the back of the book. But it's not really just scribbling down an answer that counts, is it? My friend always asks me for math help and I gladly help her. Notice the word help. Not let her copy my work and let her claim it as hers, though I'd probably let anyone do that with me anyway. He's simply asking for help. Like asking the teacher for help isn't really the same as saying "hey teach, lemme borrow the teacher's answer book, will ya?". But this isn't math. It's art isn't it? He isn't asking us to draw it for him. Or is it music? Or writing? He isn't asking us for the songs. His question was asking what he could change. In which, I am assuming, he is asking to change it in order to improve it.
I'm just saying what i think though.. Hopefully you have managed to scrape full points for it. ^_^

The reason for the B is because all of my songs came from one source (Is that so wrong?
) and, of course, because of the atrocious cover (she said to look up images online next time).I think I did pretty well considering what I chose.
