I dunno why, but I've always suspected I'll die tragically of something painful and/or drawn out and long before my time. I seriously have no reason to think this, but I just have this feeling.... Hopefully it'll be for a good cause, though, or I'll be saving someone in the process.
My ultimate nightmare is to succumb to Alzheimer's before I die; that for years before my death I'm little more than a mindless vegetable. If I were ever diagnosed and there still wasn't a cure at that point... oh man.
I'd rather die painfully with my mind intact than lose myself like that.

on a selfish sidenote: I want to die before the last of the very very few people I really care about (being three or maybe four people) dies, a week before they do, a day, an hour, or even at the exact same moment, I don't care, just not after that...
and I don't want to die of an illness, I'd feel too weak

If I had to die from a disease named after me, I'd realize my life's ambition and eat Twinkies while listening to Captain Jack, watching Doctor Who with the sound off, and using a laptop to surf CR!
