Only a month until we can venture through the twisted underwater haunted house that is Rapture! I, for one, can not wait. Discuss.

I think this will be the Dead Rising of 2007, a game that kinda came out of no where and will be/is amazing. It's lucky because it gets here before the big hitters do (Halo 3, MP3C, etc.)

This didn't come out of nowhere. It's been pretty watched for .. like, two years now.

Maybe he's blind and couldn't see his hand in front of his face? :3

Anyway, I'm intrigued. I just hope that it won't be a false 'open endedness' to the way they're trying to make it sound. 'Do Anything' choices tend to be 'Do anything with the same result no matter what' choices.

Well DR was annouced two years before it came out, and some people followed it, when it came out it did pretty well and will now be made into a series, I could see the same thing happening to Bioshock.

As far as I've read, the creators of Bio Shock have no plans to create a sequel or franchise off of it, regardless of success--just because a game does well doesn't mean the creators are going to want to make another one just like it.

If anything, Bio Shock isn't anything new. It's basically an FPS with old PC game style 'choices' to it--how much those choices mean anything though remains to be seen.

The choices are not that big, they just affect your ending....

However, Ken Levine has expressed a desire to write a Bioshock novel after he retires. The backstory seems to lend itself well to a literary format be it traditional novels, graphic novels, whatever.

Considering most of the back story references Ayn Rand frequently, that's not surprising. The novel of how the Bio Shock community came to be, or of the 'game' with a specific ending might be interesting, but not as interesting as the game itself sounds.

As for the choices, I mean ending wise and game play wise--the supposed 'freedom' of how you complete the game has yet to win me over until I see it in action.

Okay I didn't know that (he didn't want to make a sequel), either way the game looks awesome and I can't wait to play it.
