I've been wondering, is it necessary to have a gamertag when entering the Smash Bros tournament scene?

pretty sure he's asking if he needs an XBL gamertag to compete in an Xbox or Xbox 360 tournament.

and no, I don't know. I wouldn't think so, but don't quote me on that.

well yeah, but I think he means actual tournaments, like at a big building of some sort.

In that case, I wouldn't think so, but it'd depend on the type of gaming. If it's LAN (is that what you'd call it for 360?), you'd probably use a guest profile and no need for a 'Tag, but if anything on Live was going on.. I'd say it'd be better to be safe and have a tag.

Ah, sorry! I should have been more specific. I'm not an X-Box gamer. Rather, I want to enter the Smash Bros tournament scene. Is it necessary for me to have a gamertag in that respect?
