Spoiler: Hotel Dusk
I got hotel dusk 4 day ago and I have almost beaten it. But I'm stuck at the part where you have to use the blacklight to find the number, I never got the blacklight :payne: and since the number is ramdomly generated, I'm afraid I'll never beat it

I really need a new sig...

You don't need it. >_> I didn't get it either, but I remembered that you can change how the screen looks by tilting it from playing AWDS and PW at bad angles, and it works. :D

Actually, not true. My best friend, who happens to be a fan of Phoenix Wright, didnt get past the first chapter of hotel dusk before giving it back. Said it was far too slow. She never even got to that
Spoiler: ? I guess?
"interrogation" bit where you find out about Louie's past.

She hated the music, as well. I personally loved the music and the story, but she spent four hours on the small bit she played. Idiot.
My brother was more interested, but has stopped playing it.

Its similar in some ways to phoenix wright, But the pacing is very different. Wheras Phoenix Wright always starts with a bang, Hotel Dusk has a much slower, drawn out introduction. (with amazing art, though 8D)...Its not like PW, where each episode starts off with a murder. Just get through the first chapter, and everything will get much, much better.

When I played the demo, I HATED the freaken slow text. It took forever to pass the demo...

Hee hee.... I'll always remember that puzzle-flip mini-game. Freakin hilarious because I got frustrated staring at it, closed my DS, went to the bathroom, and upon flipping it back open a big "WTF" nuke blew up in my head.

Oh, yeah! I remember that! I couldn't figure that out, and I shook my DS and it ended up flipping over. I was jumping with joy.

I actually haven't played it in weeks. I'm in the bar. Chapter 5 or 6 I think...

Is this game really that good, also is it cheap?

*Doesn't read topic*

Best game on the DS bar none.

And one of the best storylines I've seen in any game for any system.

It's a dictate-as-you-command graphic novel (a really weird and concept for a game). I wouldn't know the price, sorry (yar har me pirate).

The most significant parts of the game circulates around character developments. Once you finish the game you'll notice that it can be laid out in one huge web with everything connected to each other. That's all I'm going to say, go play the game!

Something similar happened to me. XD I closed my DS so I could go look up how to flip it on GameFAQs, but then I decided I wanted to figure it out on my own, only to open my DS again to find that it solved itself. I was like "WTF...?!?!?!"

I love Hotel Dusk, man! It's one of the best, tied with Phoenix Wright... :hobohodo:

Spoiler: Secret ending... sorry if this was asked....
How do I get Mila's treasure? I know Louie gives you a casette tape, but do I have to do anything special? :headbang:
Before you ask, I am on my second playthrough.

I'm a Louie DeNonno fan... Do you know how hard pictures of him are to find on the web?....

Spoiler: Solution
Go to Louie's room and play the cassette's Side B (Side A just has music). Write down the code that's displayed. Now when you get to the basement, put that code into the codebreaker, which comes out as something "Something nostalgic in the love room." Now, the room that's called "Love" is Room 220. When you wake up the next morning after interogating Dunning, go to 220 and open the door. You'll get Mila's treasure. When Mila leaves with you, you'll give it to her and she'll smile.

It's also worth checking the guest logs on the shelf in the basement, which prove Grace was there two years ago.

I did all that, but I still couldn't open the door. I never got the treasure, although I did on the second play-through.

@Croik: That sounds possible, but could it really be that easy? I mean, doesn't that really take the point out of the second playthrough?

I heard about that second Hotel Dusk. As long as it has Louie-chan, I would wait in a long line for it!

I never could solve that puzzle thing, I thought you had to just keep going and after the few times it's flipped, but I only just finished replaying that chapter :maggy:

And actually, I would say HD is better than PW plainly for the story and gameplay. *kicked off board*

Game looks good and also sounds good. I like the way of using both screens and story is good. This kind of games DS really needs!
