The concept is,indeed,a Poke'mon rip-off,but that doesn't subtract the awseomeness. The monster ideas are clever,the gameplay is great,and it uses the mic and touch screen well. Wi-Fi enables you to download webisodes,and the card system(in which you poke through the holes on the card onto the touch screen)is unique. If you want a raise-fight-evolve game,but don't want Poke'mon,pick up this game some time.

It didn't look that good to me, so I'm not going to get it, I prefer RPGs like Final Fantasy...

It doesn't look too good. I'll have to play it, but I don't have high hopes for it. The whole "having to wake them up" aspect sounds more like a chore than actual fun, too.

I seen a few kids playing it the other day and looked pretty boring. I like the Pokemon AND Digimon games but this was just sad Pokemon rip-offs that's about 5 years too late.

For what it's worth, Spectrobes is currently at the No. 1 position in GAME's Nintendo DS sales charts here in Britain. I myself haven't played the game, but whilst I was browsing the shelves I did take a gander at the blurb on the back of the box, where I noticed the following disclaimer:

"basic reading ability is required to obtain full enjoyment from this game"

I'm not sure whether I should be offended by the gall that they condescended to include this, or distressed by the idea that they thought that they had to. :(

Actually, That can be found on many text heavy games aimed at a young audience. The Pokemon games had it since The Leaf Green/ Fire Red remakes and it's inside the Nintendog's Manaual a few times too. I guess that it's keep Parents from complaining to companies that they didn't know that their children need to know how to read when they brought the game.

I thought the game really sucked, couldnt get into it, many bad rpg decsions, off balanced diffculty, stats and monsters and suck. Although the only thing i liked in the game was its music, but even then it wasnt that good.
