Has anyone played any of the two? I have to admit though, BK 1's voice actors sucked...

I agree with Rain. I loved Lyude to death, but I couldn't stand his voice actor. And let's not forget the supporting character Mayfee, who sounded like a middle-aged man trying to impersonate a little girl.

Origins isn't too bad though. I'm still on the first disc of that though. Actually the only thing I don't like is how they entirely changed the battle system. I liked it better in the first game. =/

Guilo is awsome though. And I'm still arguing with my brother over its gender. I think he has a point about Guilo's female aspects though.

So let's see... in Origins, I've recently gotten to Celebrai... and I really like Rodolfo's voice actor for some reason. 0_o
Oh and Gaicomo is so very attractive as a teenager. Wow. Too bad he grows up to be creepy looking. XD

Bottom line is, I like the series, even if it took me a bit to get used to. I mean Mira is just way too bizarre for me, but I'm more accepting of weird things after beating the first game. Oh and the clay city is total ownage. XD
I'm more confused than Wellington with a bunch of bananas.

I played it once. I personally found it to be quite awful.

I didn't care much for the gameplay, but I did enjoy the story. Especially the rather unforseen plot twist around the middle of the first game, something I haven't seen in many games.

I haven't played the second yet, though I may rent it sometime.

I have the first game but it found it very diffcult to play. I couldn't make pass the first level and the whole card system just doesn't make sense to me. Larry

I play actual card games and the system made no sense to me. I played Chain of Memories and the system made no sense to me. I'm currently designing a political debate card game and the system made no sense to me.

Trust me, I also play a lot of card games. I have played at least 8 different cards games since I was 3 years old and for a card game not to work for me is a serious problem. The Chain of Memories card system was easy for me to get but Baten Kaitos just blew my mind.

I love this game (BK1)! Once you get the hang of the battle system you're busting Numbered attacks at top speed! With the 2nd one never coming out here in the U.K. I'm going to have to get it from America or something.

Oh and BP, I could NOT understand CoM's system but this was all too easy.

If you could though, please spoiler mark your post. But yes, Xelha, Kalas, and Lyude's voices are terible!!

As for Guilo, ever notice how they convinently avoid the topic of his/her gender, like Mizuti? There's a reason for that on disk two so keep playing! x3

And ever notice that Giacomo is younger then Gibari, but he looks at least 20 years older then him in BK1?! O.o;

Aaah, I didn't think my post had any major spoilers at first, but I deleted some stuff because I think I see what you're getting at.

Sorry about that, folks. ^_^; Won't happen again.

And yeah, Gaicomo is just... I don't even know what to say about him in the first game. XD
Oh! And I was wondering if Folon and Ayme ever appear in Origins. I think they were younger than Gaicomo so I'm not sure if they were around at that time. I'm just a big Folon fan is all. heh.

They're too young to appear. Folon is 18 and Ayme is 21. Tecnically, Ayme could appear, but she would only be a year old.

Haha, I love these games. I made a topic for them on the old forum and it died in like ten seconds. XD

I've beaten both, and I'm not sure which I like better. I like BK1's plot better, but BKO's gameplay a lot more. BK1 feels kinda clunky after playing BKO.

In BKO I just solo stuff for fun now. Oh, how I love setting up combos.

I heard of it and seen it before but never played it.

Dude, Folon was only 18? Cripes!

Er... anyway, I just got to Disc 2 of Origins today. Didn't get much further 'cause the first boss on the disc is pretty tricky. My friend was with me though, so we managed to develop a strategy, but I think I should add more healing cards to the deck.
And you know what? Although Origins has some good voice acting this time, it has a LOT of screaming lines. 0_o

Lots of "Aarrgh"s and "Noooo"s and "Uugh"s, you know? Though characters getting mad and shouting at each other is fun too.

But what is awsome about the BK games is their way of naming things. I love the name Shannath (the character freaks me out though) for instance.

...And I want more party members! =0

Sorry, Saguilly is all you get. >_______>

Also, I presume you're talking about the Holoholo bird? You just gotta punch that thing and fast. Take down the chicks, then have one person attack the mom and the other two kill the new eggs.

Baten Kaitos is a very good game... Sakuraba's soundtrack is great... Voice acting could be better but it does it job. Visuals are great and so is battle system... I have played Origins too and it seems good as well. Battle system needed some getting used to due to it's differences... My only gripe is that there hasn't been a PAL release for it.

Ah, feel the power of the love quadrangle.

Guilo is one of my favorite characters. He/she is super funny. But you gotta love Miliarde's maces. It's at it's best during Arabesque or Diamond Drop.
