Am I honestly the only person here with a 3DS? Some of you guys are missing out.

If you don't have one, are you planning one getting one? Maybe when it's down in price?

If you do, what games do you have? Do you have yours online? Etc etc.

Just wondering.

Super Mario Land
Excitebike 3D
Pokedex 3D

It would REALLY have to go down in price for me to even consider it. I might get a secondhand copy or something. I dunno... I already have a DSi and I have to wonder whether I can justify spending money for a console with only a couple of games I'd be interested in (those being the PWvPL game and Ocarina of Time).

What's the 3D actually like?

The 3D is awesome. Doesn't stand out quite as much when you're used to it but still.

My games:
Super Street Fighter IV
Pilotwings 3D
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Ghost Recon
PES 2011 3D
Pokedex 3D
Excitebike 3D Classics
Legend of Zelda Links Awakening DX
Donkey Kong
And some DSi stuff I transfered.

Neko by any chance would I please be able to trade friend codes? :)

I tend to like my game systems to have games for it before I buy them. Until then I'm going to sit and wait. And hey, maybe the price goes down, maybe not. But there will be a used market by then, and I get a discount one way or another.

My sister has a 3DS, it's pretty cool.

So far she's only got Pokedex 3D and Nintendogs+Cats. I told her she should get Ocarina of Time, but she didn't want it because she thought it would be too hard. :/

The 3DS itself is really cool. The 3D was also much better than I expected. While it's true that it has to be held at a certain angle and distance to properly be seen, once you do get that angle, the display is just perfect. The 3D effects are actually going into the screen, not outward like in a movie theater, which makes it much, much cooler to look at. And for those who don't like 3D, the 2D is just as awesome-looking. I had no idea that such graphics could possibly be grasped within my very hands. Simply marvelous.

I'm probably going to ask for one for Christmas. A trailer for a certain game my friend shared with me peaked my interest, but even if it doesn't get localized I still figure I need an upgrade from my DS and its bulky original model. xD

I wonder what any future Ace Attorney games (not counting the Layton one) would look like on the DS... how might they make use of the 3D function, for example?

Parents offered me one as a reward for an unexpected scholarship, so I went ahead and day one'd it since I didn't know if it would be hard to find later on. Turns out it definitely wouldn't be, but eh.

So far though, I'm not really impressed with it. The only 3DS games I have are OoT and Ghost Recon, and I think I spent more time on Radiant Historia than I have on those two combined. Which brings me to a nitpick with the system: DS games. I don't mind the scaling (in some games, like Radiant Historia, it looks perfectly fine), but for some reason I swear the colors are washed out compared to 3DS games. Like, if you've used no$gba, it's the difference between the "LCD" and "VGA (Poppy Bright)" settings it has.

I'm hoping it's library will blossom out like the DS's did - that's why I decided to get one early - but the upcoming lineup isn't that thrilling for me. And the region locking is a real kick in the teeth, since I figure by the time Layton vs. AA comes out in Japan, I'll know enough Japanese to enjoy it - but I won't be able to import it.

Wooster- Fair enough. After all, there are the likes of Kid Icarus, Super Mario, Mario Kart, MGS etc coming out.
Yaragorm- Damn. Steal it off her!
Bolt Storm- Ghost Recon isn't brilliant if you ask me. My brother loves it, but I'm more for Ocarina of Time.

Radiant Historia is one of the best RPGs I've played in a long time. Doesn't hurt that the music is some of the best I've seen on the DS.

Very true - it's done by Yoko Shimomura (Super Mario RPG, Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade) and a treat to listen to. My only gripe with the music was that there wasn't very much variety; maybe 20 tracks total in a 30-hour game? The "sadness" theme in particular started to feel overplayed, especially once I remembered there was a different sadness theme used once and only once and then forgotten about.

I've had one since launch but didn't get anything until e-shop and OoT came out.

I own:
OoT, ExciteBike and PokéDex 3D. Waiting for e-shop cards to come out (as they supposedly will) before I buy non-free stuff off of e-shop.

I dunno. I like it when there's repetition in a soundtrack. It makes the music more memorable if it's played more frequently. 'Course, naturally you don't want bad music to be memorable, but that's generally hard from Yoko.

*Makes note to check out Radiant Historia*

Ahem well yea I got a 3DS, for an astonishing 170 pounds.

i bought Samurai Warriors and SSFIV (to my regret).
The 3D effects look really pretty though I don't normally like them cranked up to full so it's really handy being able to alter them to a degree.

Picked up Samurai Warriors because I quick like Dynasty Warrior and it's a similar genre and same company XD Turns out it's epic and I've found whole new characters to like. Made me even consider checking out Warriors Orochi since it combines the two universes (or countries as it is).

SSFIV is just an awful fighting game for me. Earlier I spammed Blanka's rolling attack H and got two perfects, with nothing else. It's a game where tiers are horribly horribly obvious and battles are won by individual moves rather than combos in my eyes.

Don't slide well with me.
Though I got the 3DS because I know it's going to be Nintendo's next big front, eventually DS games will stop and the 3DS will be the primary console, at which point I would've gotten it anyway so I'm not really bothered by a little game drought at the start.

3D is awesome. Also, US is Netflix tomorrow.

I got the 3DS on my birthday, but sadly I do not actually have any games for it aside from Pokedex 3D and Excitebike. Might just get Ocarina of Time 3D.

A fair point, but on my personal scale RH was a little too repetitive for my likings. But it's still a hell of a soundtrack, so it's more a quibble than anything else. Definitely the strongest JRPG I've played in recent memory (sorry Dark Dawn, you just didn't have the same magic.)

But on topic... I may pick up The Mercenaries 3D if I see it very cheap, but having played RE4 and RE5 plenty of times, there's no way in hell I'm buying it at full price. And it's a shame there's no way to delete your save without a backup device.

This. Really, I could care less about 3-D or gimmicks, I get a system based on its library. It's a shame the only good stuff I see coming out in the future are pretty much remakes of games I already own.

I'm hoping to get a 3DS myself, mostly due to the fact that my Left button is broken on my DSLite which makes it hard to switch between Licenses and Abilities in the Olympus Coliseum world on KH Re: Coded.

I'll either wait till the price goes down or (if it does happen) buy it when I move to Florida... Apparently, everything is cheaper in Florida... except for tourist items/food in Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and all them other parks they got there...

Radiant Historia sounds like a good game.

3ds owners - Has anyone experienced any dizziness while playing on their 3ds? 3D movies tend to give me annoying headaches after watching. I was wondering if the 3ds might also have that effect on me.

Nothing worse than a bit of eye fatigue here. I think it takes a little while to get used to it; an early play session with the 3D on high gave me a headache, but it hasn't happened since.

None for me or my sister so far, though neither of us feel dizzy for 3D movies either besides the occasional Vertigo shot.

Ok, my pal is also going "GUNDAM GUNDAM GUNDAM!" cause it got the dynasty warriors treatment but I've never so much as watched an episode :yuusaku:

@Bolt Storm - I reckon Dark Dawn was off because of how many characters they tried to cram into one game without really developing them.

Also if you are worried about the 3D graphics messing you up you could simply turn them off, it makes everything look very very pretty but I wouldn't recommend (and neither does the game) playing with strong 3D on shaky transport cause that is kinda a strain.

This.

I also want to wait for my Japanese to get good enough to justify buying a Japanese 3DS. (Cuz I want a Japanese 3DS and to be able to play a Japanese 3DS, but if I get a 3DS too early my Japanese won't be good enough to justify it.)

I still have plenty of DS, gamecube, wii, and even gba games I want to play
(Plus I could always buy a PS(2) and play all those games if I really have to)

The 3D is pretty cool, but the angle thing means that I can't play it reclining or lying down, which is how I'm always used to playing my games. It's still pretty without 3D though, so whatever :D

This is what put me off. I wanted one really badly but then I started hearing reports about how it causes nausea and headaches. I have a headache pretty much everyday already and don't want to make them even worse XD

At the moment I don't really see any need for me to get one. My 2 and half year old DS lite is still in tip top condition!

The dizziness/nausea/headache warnings are about the same as any 3D movie. If that doesn't work for you, then neither will the 3DS's 3D mode (the 2D mode is still perfectly fine though).

Also just like any 3D movie, there are warnings that anyone under 7 years of age might have their heads screwed with.

I waited for fin release as the moon to rise
and actually had mine, black one, pre-ordered about a two months before the release.
...and of course; i needed a game for it too.
That being nintendogs. :D

I really love that machine.
Sure, the batteries end up dead 'bout three hours, but...
That's so far the only complain of it for now.
Oh, except that change from 2D to 3D hurts your eyes a bit at first.
But cool once you get used to it.

So far I have four games for it already.
- Nintendogs
- Dead or Alive Boob Dimensions
- Super Street Fighter IV
- Ocarina of Time
All of those are enjoyable and really show how much more power the 3DS has compared to regular DS.

But like Boltie said; it still lacks one thing. Games.
It has kinda many games already, butthe thing is that the best ones are still on regular DS.
FFIII, Chrono Trigger, Radiant Historia, 999, Layton and the others.
Of course, once 3DS get's more games it's going to get interesting.

It was good idea for them to add some minigames for it though,
just in case you wouldn't happen to have any game for it.
...And to be honest; I actually like that...grazy head game or what ever it's name was again.
And of course the little games that appear on the cards.

To sum this up, me thinks it's pretty cool joybox. :D
I'm definitely waiting for the upcoming games for it.

Although I bought a 3DS at launch day, I recommend everyone to buy one after six months have passed, because in that period, some great games (such as Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked, Starfox 64 3D, Tales of the Abyss 3D, and Metal Gear Solid Snake eater 3D) will be released. By the time you get your 3DS, some of these games may already have a price-drop (and perhaps even the 3DS itself). These, with The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, should keep you entertained until other major titles are released (and I forgot to mention Super Mario Bros. 3D, which is looking promising since it's a mix between Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Galaxy).

Then there are the inevitable "remakes" of The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask and The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past. And if rumors are true, Final Fantasy V and VI should also be getting a remake.

And if rumors are true, Final Fantasy V and VI should also be getting a remake.

Hopefully it's true.
On DS I only have FF III, and was thinking of getting IV and V, but...
...Well...To be honest I don't know why.
In that scenario, I hope it's either of them.

They are going to make at least one Final Fantasy, that's for certain,
but nothing really hasn't confirmed yet.
I guess time will tell...again...

What else was coming to this thing again?
Layton, Layton VS AA, Luigi's Mansion 2, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Kingdom Hearts, ner Mario...
Maaaaan...My wallet is allready having nightmares! XD

BTW...Am I the only one to hope they release even one super smash bros game for this one? :D

Well, good news on that front, Zinle: they've already announced the next SSB will be both on the Wii U and the 3DS.
Hi! I've largely stepped back from C-R due to life stuff. Please contact one of the other staff members for help!

They HAD intentions of remaking both of them for the DS, but due to technical difficulties (3D renders and voice-acting), the couldn't. But seeing as how the 3DS is four times powerful than the DS, things might change. :phoenix:

I have mixed thoughts of FFIII. Although it introduced the job system to the series, I thought it was too boring and bland to my liking (yeah, I started the series with FFIV, a much more plot-oriented game than the past ones).

I got FFIV DS and liked it (even though I played it in the SNES, PS, and GBA). :maya:

There are also rumors that they may port GBA games to the eShop, let's hope it's true...

Final Fantasy (along with other major titles), was showcased in a list of future 3DS. Whether or not it's a Crystal Chronicles game or not (God, I hope it's a traditional, RPG, turn-based FF), it's still unknown (but I hope it isn't that musical-like Dissidia game they're making for it...).

You're a bit late on news. A new SSB game was announced for the 3DS and Nintendo Wii U. :jake:

Zinle, I have to say, that is the BEST Hotel Dusk inspired Avatar I've ever seen. Dare I say, I'm envious.

Also, where's the source for the FFV and FFVI 3DS remake rumor? I seem to remember that story, but it was more of wishful thinking then "I heard from someone who heard from someone who's friends with the pool cleaner for the next door cousin of the dev"
