I'm guessing you forgot about Link? Regardless, this doesn't prove one way or the other that Meta Knight will be profiled next. I doubt he will be, though, or they would have done it quite a while ago.

I know same with snake, Honestly, If snake and Meta-Knight appeared in the updated early on, would you still keep tabs on the update sight? I myself wouldn't, but since they haven't I keep checking until they do, though IMO snake wont be profiled until probably Nov. Its a good 'marketing' Strategy for Nintendo, I'll post my thoughts on it on the Wii Sale topic, having its updates made me more excited for the game, like the assist Trophy, new char that would have been blown off, PKMN Trainer.... I wonder if you have PKMN Battle Rev Trainer Design save, will it transfer as your PKMN trainer character skin in brawl??

and so on.... ^^;

Oh yeah... but I'm sure Meta Knight is soon We haven't had a character this week... so, I'm pretty sure we will be getting a newcomer. (Such as Meta Knight, Snake, or a character not already announced)

I wonder if they are going to be announcing characters you have to unlock. And also, even if they are or not, are they sticking to the tradition of Jigglypuff and Luigi being the first unlockables?

I imagine you get the chance to unlock Jigglypuff right after you defeat Master Hand in Classic Mode... yet again. Although, Sakurai hasn't even shown off Classic Mode stuff yet. Not even Event Matches! I sure hope those will be back.

Tonight's update is the special moves for the Pokémon Trainer. Since his Down-B is the move that swaps Pokémon, the other three are for special moves. Each Pokémon gets their own distinct moves, for a total of nine different moves. These were the ones shown;

Squirtle:
- B-Up is Waterfall. Squirtle rides a torrent of water upwards.
- B-Side is Withdraw. Squirtle goes into his shell and sprays water out behind him, shooting him off sideways like a rocket.

Ivysaur:
- B-Standard is Bullet Seed. Ivysaur fires them upwards with the plant on it's back.
- B-Up is Vine Whip. Ivysaur uses it to grab/hit whatever is above it, including the side of the stage.

Charizard:
- B-Side is Rock Smash. Charizard uses his head to break large boulders.
- B-Standard is Flamethrower. Self explanitory, I'd say.

On a side note, I definately saw Vine Whip on Ivysaur after that Tether Recovery update.

Well, we don't even know if they're going to be in the game or not. If they are, though, it's possible.

I think Unlockables will be characters not profiled on the updates while the characters shown so far will be available at start. But that is my opinion I could, and can, be wrong on this.

I would assume squitles standing special will be water gun, Ivysaurs side special will be razor leaf, and charizards up special could be seismic toss. But that is my guess, since those where not profiled for the characters.

For some reason I think this is a pattern... Meta Knight... and PKMN Trainer special moves....? Uh Oh, It looks like it's time for special move updates...

Well, I agree with you that just because it happened twice, doesn't mean It's a pattern... but just to point out, Ness WILL in fact be in brawl, since he has his own item.

Ness could be replaced by one of the newer characters from Mother 3 (probably Lucas), though, much like Roy was implemented mainly as advertising for the new Fire Emblem game at the time.

PS, Squirtle's water attacks are beautiful. And Charizard's B -> is Rock Smash, standard B is Flamethrower.

Until it's revealed by an official source from Nintendo or the Dojo, it's still an unconfirmed rumor. Even if it's being claimed by a fairly trustworthy site, their source "isn't 100% positive", as they put it.

EDIT (to avoid double posting): Today's new technique is Gliding. Any character with wings can glide, including Pit, Meta Knight and Charizard.

Gliding works by holding the jump button after a second/midair jump, which will cause you to glide in whatever direction you're facing. Your speed and altitude depend on the angle. Also, you can't change direction while gliding, so that's something to think about in a match.

Well... I remember reading somewhere that Sukurai wasn't going to have any "Japan only" characters in Brawl or something like that. And unless I'm not with the times, Mother 3 was never released here.

:objection:

Actually, he said he would like to "avoid" adding Japan Only characters, although he still might, if he has too. Oh, and what's Mother 3?

And gliding will be fun... And as I've made my point previously...

So far this week we have had: 1 Assisst Trophy, and 2 Techniques and 1 Item... what's tommorow? (Please be a newcomer character....)

And my friend recently today stated he read on Gamespot:
That SSBB is out on December 6/07... and then I told him, no... It's Decemebr 3rd... but then he said: Do you wanna bet? and when he says that, he's usually serious... but what was he reading then...? Can anyone try and clarify this... he may be confused with another game... but I'm not sure... (Unless it's Mario and Sonic @ the olympic games, he's pretty excited about that one...)

Probably not, though if they allow you dive-bomb at someone, it could do some damage or stun them long enough to get some quick hits in.

Well, Peach had more of a hovering ability with her double-jump. Unless you mean the bit with the parasol, though that wasn't really the same as this form of gliding.

Also, BP, there werent any winged characters in either the original game or Melee. At least, not playable.

Vony wrote:

Well, that was true with Melee. He was even going to cut Marth and Roy from the english version of the game because Fire Emblem wasn't a well-known franchise here. In fact, it's been said that one of the reasons we've been getting the newer FE games is because SSBM generated interest in it.

For Brawl, he was initially going to avoid region-only characters because he didn't want to alienate his players, but changed his mind when it allowed him a bigger choice in characters.

Link1438: As I've said before, you can't expect a newcomer every week. That's just begging for dissapointment.

Today's update is probably one of the most unique stages in Smash Bros. (and that's saying a lot): WarioWare.

The stage is much like the WarioWare series itself; the stage constantly changes from mini-game to mini-game, with the challenges becoming obstacles and hazards for the fighters to avoid. Howver, if you actually complete the mini-game, you will be rewarded somehow. Of course, in the chaos of battle, that won't be easy.

It was a decent update but, personally I think so far there is too many Backround changing/moving stages so far I'm getting tired of it I just want a new update of a stage that DOESN'T move.

I am going to get flamed. called it

I kinda agree, but I loved the moving stages in Melee. I guess if you want to fight without worrying about something comming outta nowhere and killing you.

4/10 stages don't move, lets just wait for what else they bring.

I have to completely agree with the both of you. This stage is certain to be poplaur among certain crowds but hated by others. What I wonder is how exactly does the stage reward you for completey the minigames?

My guess, It drops items like Assist Trophies and/or crates or could heal players that complete the minigames. :garyuu:

So it was a stage... well, we can wait for Monday now...

This stage seems to be... different... but what confuses me is HOW to complete the games... I've played Touched! Before, but that's it... do you have to move your character there...? Or is it like Smooth Moves...?

What really confuses me is that theres no damage counter on the screens. Maybe you'll have 4 lives and you have to work together to beat the microgame, while fighting.
