BUT BACK ON TOPIC!
Pokemon Ranger is underated...it was an interesting concept and pretty fun. Most of its problems were fixed in Ranger 2. :acro:

Ugh, that looks like the most terrible game on the face of the planet. I shouldn't really be judging though, I haven't played it.

I thought it quite repulsive too at first, but then I wanted a manaphy so I bought the game and it's definitely worth the three days it took for me to beat it. :godot:

Although Ranger 2 was still better....... :yuusaku:

Yup, you just said for me exactly what I feared. It's way too underrated.

By the way, it's the best FPS on the PS3. "Killzone two"

Meh. Killzone 2 was waaaay overhyped.I don't know what you're talking about. See, it's "Game Overhype Syndrome". A game is hyped for so long as, in this case, something like a Halo-killer, and when the game doesn't meet expectations or isn't as good as other, similar games (Halo), it dies off quickly. Killzone had its day. LittleBigPlanet & Uncharted 2 are just better games, s'all.

One of my favorite games; it always gets a lot of criticism and hate.

It is short, but I still loved it. :sadshoe:

Also Megaman Battle network series. It was well liked until 4. I agree 4 wasnt good but 5 and 6 were great but got bad scores. That was a great series.

It's a PS1 game that has a world where dog and cat people live, and you play as a police officer dog driving in a police robo that goes after a gang of cats.

It's supposed to be pretty short and most people can finish it in five hours.

Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure: One of my favorite games for the Nintendo DS (and that's saying something!) This game has fun gameplay, nice graphics, and fun music. The gameplay is fun blend between platforming, beat'em up, and puzzle (the puzzle part is very simlar to Nintendo's Puzzle League/Tetris Attack.) There are five levels a jungle/graveyard, a skyland (with sky pirates!), Atlantas/volcano, the Puzzle World, and Tealand (the equivelent to England.) You get to fight a bunch of wacky and fun enemies, some great bosses, and also you get to fight against and using steam punk mechas. The music of the game is not all that memorable but it has a lot fun to licene to. I aspecially enjoy the Tealand, Puzzle Realm, and the 3rd and final boss music. So if you have ever wanted to play as an awesome British gentleman, with steam punk mechas, a great colaberation between platformering and puzzles, and the only good game published by EA in years (probably the only one except for Alice on the PC) pick up this great game and you will not be disapointed. You can probably get it for 20-25 dollars at GameStop.

Ristar: One of my favorite Sega games... Deja-Vu. For those of you out of the know Ristar was originally going to be a game called Fell with a rabbit which was going to be the new mascot for Sega after Alex Kidd. It was really pretty graphics and alright music. The music is techno, but isn't all that great. It was fun levels and gets pretty hard around the end. The gameplay is the best part. Ristar uses his strechy arms and hard head to nail his enemies. He can also latch on to fling enemies and bounces up walls... kinda. Ristar can even become a shooting star whenever he spins around a pole. This is a great game and easy to find. You can get it for Sega Genesis Collection on the PSP and PS2, Sonic Mega Collection (play all games 20 times to unlock), the resent Sonic's Genesis Collection for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and on the Wii Virtual consol.

Wait! I forgot my favorite NES games!

StarTropics: You play as Mike Jones a 15 year baseball player on an island adventure. StarTropics truely is a test of Island Courage. At first it looks a bit like turn based RPG but after you enter a cave it turns into more of a Legend of Zelda like game, replacing your weapons with more modern weapons. Like baseballs and bats and even shurikens that split in half. The theme is very catchy and awesome. This is an awesome game if you like the Legend of Zelda series spend the 5 dollars on the Wii VC. And remember the special letter in that you can find in the manuel.

The Kunio-kun series: If you don't really know what it is I'm not suprised. The Kunio-kun series is a series that was very popular in Japan and is now gaining some more there, it followed the adventures of the increadably violent highschool Kunio (aka Rian, Crash, or Sam.) Kunio is also a big sport player, but he likes to play sport a lot more violently. The games released in America were Super Dodgeball (you and your team try become the worlds best dodgeball team, unlike normal sports games you can use special moves... AKA THIS GAME IS AWESOME), River City Ransom (you and your buddy get to bet up all the gangs in River City with you fist, feet, and whatever weapons you can pick up {including your enemies} to save your friends girl), Crash n' Boys Street Challenges (have bearly played this one but I'm gonna get it soon, show those rich boys who the real kings of the hood are with a bunch of wacky and voilent challenges) and Nintedo World Cup (... I've never played it.)

Shadow of the Ninja: Do you like Ninja Gaiden? Do you like co-op? Do you like being able to hang from the ceiling? Do you like upgradeable swords? Do you like having a chain as a weapon as well? Just go get this game... NOW!

Little Nemo the Dream Master: I first picked up this game because I thought it was about Captain Nemo... it's not, but it's about Little Nemo and his Adventures in Slumberland. Great music it is so awesome! Since the levels are dreams the are just great and creative. It's a platformer were you can also ride on (or inside of) animels, each with unique powers and abilty (hornet FTW projectiles and flight can it get better I submit it can not!) It's a very hard game too, with several fake outs, like 1-ups that you can't reach and you just die. I got this game very cheap too. Unforcinatly since it is a licensed game it won't be released for the Wii VC. So get an NES/a Retro Duo (this system works beutifully) and play it!

After playing AA, I was underwhelmed by Time Hollow and Hotel Dusk, although Hotel Dusk did have some sort of style around it, there's no reason to play it again.

PW:Ace Attorney- Why is it that this game is hard to find or hidden, but JFA is always easy to find, when really JFA, although awesome, is probably the worst in the series? It's odd.

Well, since people don't like it as much, nobody buys it? So they're all over the shelves, and easy to find? XD I don't know, just guessing. I found all four games on the internet with little effort, actually. But that's what I'd think. Also, I don't think JFA was the weak one ^^; I do think it's underrated.

Hey 2-4 is my favourite case I didn't think it was week.

Oh and Hotel Dusk does have some limited replay value, you get a better ending if you do certain things only unlocked after one playthrough.

Oh, I got the full ending with you-know-who the first time around. And 2-4 is definitely one of my favourite cases, but all of the games have awesome last cases, and on a whole JFA was a bit lacking, if only due to it only having 4 cases. For the record, I think AJ was also kind of lacking.

Huh? Was your game second hand or something? I didn't think it was possible to get the true ending in one playthrough. The cassette isn't supposed to be given to you.

I used a walkthrough to get the secret ending the first time, so it probably required a certain series of optional events to occur in order to get it. I believe I remember it having something to do with a vending machine? My memory of it is somewhat vague.

And Justice For All is the second rarest only to Trials & Tribulations......I still see about 3 copies of the first AA at the Gamestop I regularly go to.... :eh?:

Lucky, it took me forever to get the original. I finally found it at a flea market though. I had to choose between it and a Sega Dreamcast... luckly the Dreamcast was damaged making my choice easier.

And I'm back once again!
Mole Mania: Probably my second favorite orginal GameBoy game. You play as Muddy Mole in order to save his family from the evil farmer Jinbe. It's a top down puzzle game, not unlike Legend of Zelda or the SNES Goof Troop game. Muddy uses iron balls to bowl over enemies and open doors. Being a mole Muddy can dig under ground. The diging adds to the puzzles because if you drop the ball in the hole it while start back were it was. You also get difernt puzzle solving tools, like L pipes and the like. This game is an amazingly fun puzzle game, that you really have to wrap your mind around to figure out, and when it's made by the master himself, Shigeru Miyamoto you know it's good!

Captian Commando: One of the best beat'em ups ever... in my opinion. I love this game. You have so many different moves, weapons, and mechs. Captain Commando was Capcoms old mascot (CAPtain COMmando, Capcom you so cleaver!) This game has the most unquie set of characters to choose from. Captain Commando (future police superhero, race American), Ginzen the ninja (a ninja, who can slice his enemies in half!), Mack the knife (a space mummy in street clothes... with knives hints the name), and Baby Head (a baby with a self made, small mech... the freakin' awesome!) In the game you fight through Metro City (same one from Final Fight, only it's the future... so I guess Final Fight wasn't really a correct name then) fighting baddies with fists, feet, swords, mechanical fist and feet, hammers, machin guns, ect. You got to some cool locations like a ninja town (were you fight ninjas) and circus (were you don't fight clowns) and go all the way to space. You can also get small mechs in the game, some shoot ice swome punch it's cool, I find it weird that Baby Head can drive a mecha driving a mecha. Like most beat'me ups it's short but fun, it even thoughs in a mini game with surfing ninja (most original thing ever) to break up some of the fighting. You can get Captain Commando on Capcom Colection volume 2, and I think on Capcom Classic Remix for the PSP.

Probably because PW:AA is out-of-print (or so I remember reading). Though why they'd let such a great game go out of print is beyond me...

(EDIT: Okay, I've looked, and I haven't been able to find anything about AA being out-of-print...which is odd, because I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.)

I had to buy both AA and JFA secondhand off the Internet. While I did manage to find TnT in stores, it's pretty hard to find now where I live...the only Ace Attorney game that's readily available around here is AJ, though I have come across copies of JFA and TnT as well. Never seen AA in stores, though.

And while I do agree that JFA is probably the weakest game in the series, it DOES have my favorite case (2-4).

As for underrated games...honestly, I can't really think of any. I'm really not a major gamer. :/

Just been brought to my attention elsewhere:

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.

While part of....not an underrated series I feel this one is overlooked as it's on GBA and utilises a completely different combat system which may throw some people off. But it was an extremely high quality game for GBA standards and I felt it was one of the best games I had back then.

I'm sorry, the battle system in Chain of Memories sucked big time. I could deal with Sora's story since you could at least make your own deck, but when you try to play Riku's story and the game sticks you with a deck containing nothing but 1, 2, and 3 cards, that's bullshit.

Why does the GCN version have bad controls? I'm playing it now and the only thing I can see 'bad' about the controls is the way you have to hold A to move instead of using the control stick, but that's more 'different' than 'bad' and it doesn't take long to get used to it.

Don't say "I'm sorry" as if you are automatically right. I said it took a bit of getting used to.

I appreciated Riku's decks as they meant you had to think a tad more since you couldn't just randomly cram your deck with whatever cards you liked you had to pick and choose.

Also for the Endgame game Riku's deck consists of a variety of strong cards, they aren't that heartless they gave you plenty to beat the final boss with.

It's not the same as regular Kingdom Hearts but I still liked it

You thought you could be safe in your courts, with your laws and attorneys to protect you. In this world only I am law, my word is fact, my power is absolute.

Pokémon Colosseum and XD.

Why are they so hated? they have good plots and epic music. They're two of my fave Pokémon games.

I'm sorry, the battle system in Chain of Memories sucked big time. I could deal with Sora's story since you could at least make your own deck, but when you try to play Riku's story and the game sticks you with a deck containing nothing but 1, 2, and 3 cards, that's bullshit.

Don't say "I'm sorry" as if you are automatically right. I said it took a bit of getting used to.

I appreciated Riku's decks as they meant you had to think a tad more since you couldn't just randomly cram your deck with whatever cards you liked you had to pick and choose.

Unless the European version of the game is different from the North American version or something, there's no "pick and choose" to Riku's cards. You're stuck with whatever the game gives you. I didn't make it to the final boss because I gave up when I got such a horrid deck that regular enemies were owning me left and right.

Here's a game that's underrated: Avalon Code.

The world is ending. You're charged with deciding how the next world will turn out by recording everything in the current one - people, monsters, locations, weapons, etc. - in the Book of Prophecy and altering most of them however you choose by ripping the DNA-esque 'codes' from one thing and putting them in another. You can put fire codes in a sword to get a blazing blade, put sickness codes into monsters to weaken them, and so on.

Some parts of the game aren't so great: the timed puzzles in the dungeons are annoying, you can only 'hold' four codes before being forced to put them into something, the Book can be exhausting to navigate at times, and juggling monsters into outer space is fun the first few times but loses its appeal quickly (and it's one of the few ways to restore health and magic), but it's worth putting up with those irritations for the sake of a game that's for the most part very good.

Also, the game is made by the guy who does the Harvest Moon/Rune Factory series, so of course you can date certain characters if you want. No marriage, though.

Of course, who has time to marry when the world is ending?

I heard about that game, I wasn't too sure about it though.

MMMmmmh... I have Avalon Code... I only played up to Chapter 4 or something. It was an interesting system, and the grasshopper sword (or whatever) and super-giant boss sword were VERY fun to wield, but...

It seemed really easy, and the story seemed meh to me, and reorganizing everything was annoying. It's a fine game, but it just didn't seem that great to me... There are games I would recommend much more.
