If those screenshots are for a DS game, alright. But if they are from a 3DS game... then I don't care what the hell Reggie says, 3DS isn't the DS' successor, it's just a DSi with 3D. A true DS successor would have much-improved graphics, which would be seen in the screenshots.
Well, they haven't actually announced anything regarding the 3DS' features (besides "no-glasses 3D lol"), so unless they are all announced before the official date of this magazine (April 15), then Black/White can't be 3DS games. Who announces a game for a system that hasn't even been properly announced?

Japanese Logos are spiffy, though, but there's a 95% chance they'll lose their spiffyness when it comes to the states.
But I will admit, I hate what looks like the designs for the trainers. Although who knows, my opinion may change slightly once they release the official artwork of them.
About the one thing I do like about it would be the battle scene now, with the full-body behind the back it kinda helps giving a better view on the behind part of some pokemon without needing a 3-D model for that sort of detail. Although it does make it look a little....cramped on there. I take it stats will now all be crammed into the other screen now with it being how it is.

It's a custom for each new generation to be released on a new console. If the 3DS is released this year, Pokemon Black and White will be released as 3DS launch titles.
Pokemon is a first party franchise. It'd be stupid to assume that it WON'T be released on the 3DS.
The only thing I'm not digging right now is the design of the new male and female trainers.

No matter, if the games are released before the 3DS is released they will have in-built features specifically for the 3DS, like rotating fields and battles that can be viewed at multiple angles. There were supposedly going to be DSi games like this that incorporated the camera and other DSi functions, that would also be compatible with the DS and DS Lite bar those features.
However, it seems Nintendo had already begun development of the 3DS at that point, so it was ditched. I can see this happening this time around though. The screenshots imply it.

-G-1 Red and Blue - Original Game boy, had very basic color support due to when it was released and whatnot.
-G-1 Yellow - playable and released for the original gameboy, just had a bit more advanced color support.
--G-2 Gold and Silver - Sure had better color support, but it's still playable on the ORIGINAL GAMEBOY, making it more or less a game for the original gameboy.
-G-2 Crystal - Game Boy Color Exclusive
-G-3 games - Advance
-G-4 Games - DS
Gold and Silver broke that custom before it even started due to it being for the orignal gameboy, not all the new gens are on the next new handheld really, and depending on how long it takes for them to iron out the development of the 3DS, there's a good chance it may be on the original DS. Especially with when they announced it as opposed to when they announced G-4 and the timing of the DS's release and production.
Either way, I also don't expect the 3DS to be out this year with when they did announce it as well.

That may be true, however:
The only reason Crystal was not playable on the Original Gameboy was because of the cartridge design, and because the GB had been discontinued at that point. Pokemon Gold and Silver, generation 2, was released FOR the GBC, not BEFORE the GBC.
So, it's a GBC game that is backwards compatible. Let's not forget, every GB game is playable on the GBC, with a colour pallette added.

That would be like if about 1-2 years ago they make a GCN game that when played on the Wii would give you option of Wii controls, it may be playable on both, and the newer system does give you something more, but because of it being playable on the older system, it is often noted and considered to be for the older system because of the newer one being backwards compatable.
.......Although maybe that might of just make it a bit more confusing, so I'd rather not derail the topic too much. Some people probably just consider what it's for differently.
On the topic of G-5, what the heck could they even do next for legendaries, I mean they did the God of the pokemon, the Chronos of Pokemon, and the whatever the heck Palkia's equivalent would be.
I don't think they can one-up the god at all really... although I would like to see the Thantos of Pokemon. (Which someone has previously stated Giratina really isn't quite considered as.)
EDIT: Just seen the box art. Yeah, it says color. My bad. *gets Penalty* Wow have I not seen that in AGES, brings back many good memories it does.

So, yes, it is a GBC game. The top of the cart was merely not poking out, which was the physical attribute that stopped Crystal from being placed inside of the GB. It forced people to buy the GBC to play it.

Well, have yet to see the Pokemon that could be considered "the end". Basically, we have yet to see Pokemon related to the end of the world. We've seen all the Pokemon considered to be from the beginning of time, the creators and the such, so now we should see those that end it.

You know, when you think about it, within the Pokemon universe it's not really possible for everyone to "catch em' all". Especially since there only is supposed to be one of each legendary pokemon.

Isn't it a little early to start being unimpressed by anything related to the games? I mean, we have ten seconds of second-hand footage and two Pokemon - hardly much to go by at all yet.
Besides, as I recall the first shots and footage from Diamond and Pearl wasn't exactly mind-blowing either. I remember it looking a lot more like previous games, in Ruby/Sapphire-style 2-D, than the 3-D overworld used the in the final games. Given that, waiting for some more advanced footage is certainly called for.

I don't think I've ever seen a clip of Pokemon Sunday where the hosts were never outright hysterical over their "exclusive" reveals. But it is a show aimed at kids, so their behavior is somewhat justified. Nothing gets kids more excited than oddly-dressed adults idolizing a television for several seconds, after all.
